sfbp
I was watching a BBC Thriller called State of Play involving shenanigans between politicians, an oil company, the police and a (mythical) newspaper. In episode 4 it becomes clear that the reporter is using MD all over the place to capture soundbites from actors in this adventure. I love looking at the pictorials, but to me the fascination with MD is twofold - the functionality, and the quality of the sound.

I think . Have to find one of the OLD big clunky iPods , dig out the guts , get the right size MD recorder . ( Maybe even taking the case off and putting the guts into the iPod case ???) and cut the edge of the iPod case so a disc can slide thru , into the mechanism . Hmmmmm sounds like a forum challange eh ! Make Magazine worthy I say .

Asking at Best Buy (salesperson roughly 20) resulted in puzzled looks, and me ultimately being shown those small dvds. Thank God I can easily find HI-MDs here. That put things really in perspective for me. It felt like I was after ancient manuscripts.Of course there were no Hi-MDs on sale when I checked (and they still are impossible to find to this day), but yes to regular MiniDisc (collecting dust on said store's shelves). I can see him frantically swapping out discs during the concert. Then again, with HiMD he'd probably be doing the same with the batteries, unless he had a AA pack
