Seamless transition too.... except for the down time. Is there anyone who would like to receive immediate email with information about outage, or perhaps is there some monitoring system that checks to see if that web server is there, that would notify whoever is able to restart the server?Also I see atraclife.org still in your signature. So far, as of this morning, I am the last real registered user on there who is not either a spammer or a bot.Hey Chris, and while we are at it, what can we do to get some filters or guards to prevent spammers/bots from registering of both boards? This is getting ridculous! I did not register with the ALC and the MDCF to read about porn sites or buy prescriptions online, thank you. It's time to clean house on both of the boards (both the ALC and MDCF), how can we shrink the memberlist down so that only real users are in the system as opposed to the over-inflated numbers that have been caused by spammers/bots? I have been working very hard the last few days to bring stabilization to both sites and restore the speed that we all used to know and love years ago. Things are most certainly snappier now, and I will be monitoring it accordingly. Three days at a time , not three hours . I hope that gets stabilized . One big advantage would be that there isnt any ads in the html-files. I was up talking with a friend on Skype for over 3 hours , and wanted to introduce this person to the MDCF but couldnt log on at that time. I think I will pull the Garage Sale down , because I just cant stay in contact ith people well enough here for it to work , Also there are Customs issues coming up now , the rules have changed. There is no need to abandon your activities on the site as things will stabilize soon. I've purchased more memory for the server for the time being until we can fix some of the memory leaks that are happening with the site that cause it to crash accordingly. Christopher Posted November 13, 2008 Report Share Posted November 13, 2008 Just out of curiosity, Chris, as one techie to another, what exactly was leaking/crashing?Sorry for just getting to this now; school has been overwhelming lately. Nonetheless, after some ossec issues, the memory was just too low and there was too much running in the background. After inspecting top I realized I had three security programs running at once, unnecessarily consuming excessive RAM. The forums and atraclife couldn't really run when those programs are occupying all the RAM, so they hit the swap file. The swap file was getting nuked so it would crash. I got rid of a few things and optimized others and hopefully it should be silky smooth for a while. Thanks guys for your understanding. Hopefully I can get the Gallery fixed soon.
