  2. Hello, My father passed earlier this year. In his estate we have a number of different minidisc decks and recorders that he used while recording live concerts and mixing final cuts of tracks. I have been able to find new prices online for some of the items, and a few used. I was wondering if anyonewould know if these prices are correct, or how much these items could go for? 3. It's the end of an era. I'm ready to part with my much loved minidisc collection. I have a about 80 discs (5 albums per disc) of a variety of music. Mostly rock and folk (harper, liz phair, elliot smith, lenard cohen, nick drake, neil young, tom waits, sonvolt, cruel sea etc) with some other randoms (astor piazzola, wiate etc). Includes 3 case logic cases and lots of plastic covers AND a Sony MZ-505 Type- R. I'm hoping for a good home. Anyone interested?
  4. Hi, I'm looking for a Sony MDS-JB980 in black finish. Must be in good condition with remote control. I'm in the UK just north of London and could pickup within a reasonable distance of the M25 or M3. Regards, Clive

Even though I bought my first MD recorder back in the late 90's I've had a long hiatus and never knew so many discs were made. Ebay has served me well over the last year but I'm getting to a stage where certain discs just aren't coming up. I've even contacted a couple of Japanese sellers who say discs are pretty scarce there too. I've seen still a few things of interest on Amazon.co.jp (although rare portable recorders/players are listed at extortionate prices), s
  6. Hi, something weird happened to me lately with a MDS-JA555ES: By some strange coincidence, not one, but two minty 555s showed up on German eBay two weeks ago, on two different ends of Germany, and one of it in my very hometown! I took this as an unbelievably happy coincidence, so I just had to get this thing. And so I did. When I went to that place to pick it up I noticed that that guy had no more than 5 (five!) self-recorded MDs (he had set his MDs, most of them still unwrapped, in another auction, which I hadn't noticed). So the tale of this machine only having 10 hours on it may w
