Unfortunately the answer is No. The bass frequency is only 100hz, compared to megabass at 80hz or lower. My old MD player had stronger bass response with it's digital x-bass feature. Try these settings for 6-band eq: from left to right (3,1,0,0,1,3). The numbers represent how many notches up from neutral. The far left being the bass and the far right being the treble.

Battery should have been fully charged before recording and you should have also used the AA battery adapter for longer use. If there is insufficient power to safe data, then it won't save it all. My suggestion, try uploading with SS 3.4, and see if SS finds something on the disc. One time I formatted a track using the unit and when I plugged it in with SS, the software retrieved the songs that were still on the disc.

Have you tried recording and playing back? Try to play multiple discs. If it wont read or record any of them, then I'm sorry to say you have damaged your unit. It may need repairs. parts inside may have broken or come loose.

I saw this in the post of the different SS 3.4 versions. I've never heard of a JEB version, what is it?

I just saw at the Sony website that the Canadian version of SS 3.4 is available. How different is this from the U.S. version and will it work if I bought my MZRH10 in the U.S.? Thanks.

I have the same unit and I also set the treble all the way up. With different ear phones I lower it. Personally, I set the EQ (6-band) to the following from left to right: 1st: all the way up 2nd: one notch up 3rd: flat 4th: flat 5th: one notch up 6th: all the way up This seems to give me the best sound quality.

I found my RH10 USB cable. For some strange reason it was mixed up with clean laundry. Anyway, I took the clamps off it so hopefully it makes a difference in transfer speeds. If it doesn't, the cable looks better without the clamps.
-
Yesterday I used the USB cable from my digital camera and I noticed faster transfers to my RH10. Also, the cable only has 1 magnetic clamp on the USB port side, there is none on the mini-plug side. The other USB cable had clamsp on both sides. Could this affect transfer speeds?

I did some house cleaning and somehow misplace my USB cable that came with my RH10. I found a USB cable that came with my digital camera. The small end fits my RH10 and the larger end fits the USB port on my PC. I guess I'll have to use this cable for music transfering but I was wondering whether or not the USB cable that came with my RH10 is better or are all USB cables the same (in terms of data transfer)?

Yes, there are! you can only copy via analogue. I guess that's what I'll have to do.

Is there anyway to upload a pre-recorded MD? I have a movie soundtrack Minidisc and i want to upload some of the songs to SS 3.3, but I get disc protected messages. is there any software that will decode or "unprotect" the disc? Thanks.
-
I think the Format tool in Windows will do the trick. If you right click on the Hi-MD disc drive in windows explorer you get a menu with one of the options being "Format." I selected FAT32 as the file system and when i began the format process I could hear the unit's writing head go back and forth over the disc. I think it's actually erasing everything on the disc. AFter that, I use the format feature in SS or SB. Basically, I want fresh clean minidiscs to record over.

Is the MD Simple burner on my SonicStage 3.0 CD software the same version as the Simple Burner in the download section? The CD says it's version 2.0
-
Thanks for the reply, but I believe that will only erase the table of contents. The actual data and music will still be on the disc. Basically, I want to wipe the disc clean.
-
Is there anyway to completely erase or format the disc to the way it was when you bought it (no data, no music, nothing)?
-
The biggest factor of the ones mentioned above is ADVERSTISE!!!! I want to see Hi-MD commercials on T.V.

Earlier I posted that the modules in SS 3.4 give a higher volume on the left channel than the right after compression. I was wrong. Upon further testing it is not the volume that is off balance, it is the high frequencies. The left channel responds more to high frequencies than the right channel. This was confirmed when i switch the earphones around and when using different head phones. If you notice this, please post your findings. Thanks.

Direct playback of MP3s on Hi-MD units will result in poor sound quality. Unfortunately, I've had to convert my MP3s to ATRAC3+ and this improves the sound quality. If you want to just store the MP3s as files, you can drag and drop them into the unit, but the unit will not recognize them as audio files, only as data files. Of course, you can transfer the MP3s directly, but like I said the sound quality isn't worth it.

Does anyone have a link to Sonic Stage 3.3 U.S. version? i need it for archival purposes. If you have the software, I would appreciate it if you emailed it to me. Let me know if you're willing.
-
Well, can you get me a link to the U.S. version of SS 3.3. Software for U.S. and Europe are not the same.
-
My MZRH10 is a U.S. product and it allows me to change the language to either French, Dutch, Italian or Spanish. There is no Asian language. So my advice, the Asian product may not support English language.

Stick with SS 3.3, too many unresolved issues with SS 3.4. Read the other post.
-
Is the SS 3.3 in the download section the U.S. or Euro version? I downloaded it and installed but there is no Connect Store. The U.S. versions have Connect Store.
-
Please, whenever you post links to software, specify which version it is (U.S. or Euro). They are not the same. What version is the SS 3.3 in the downloads section posted? I need to make sure I have the U.S. version.
-
What version of SS 3.4 are you using, U.S. or Euro? The issues I've discussed are related to the U.S. version. I'm not imagining this, the unbalance of channel volumes were noticeable the first time I used SS 3.4 But again, it's probably not SS 3.4, it's the modules it uses. I hope Sony reps read these posts. They should know better than to release software that has bugs and assume it's users will not notice.
