  1. Allow me. Go to www.clonedvd.com, or if thats not the correct url, search for it and download it. Rip the cd to your computer, then burn it to a dvd or even a cd-r. The sound doesnt get compresses or spoilt. Just record that from a coaxial or optical out and you are all set. This doesnt really suit you, but you could always, record via audio input on your computer. Or just rip the cd you burnt back to your computer with another program that separates the audio and video.
  2. they can list them as compitble all they like, its still shit to use them with any nw-hd series mp3/atrac player. That is fact. The rm-mc40elk is all that is worth talking about when it comes to remotes to use with the hd5. If you dont have the money for it, and are happy to only use next track, previous track, etc, then fine. You wouldnt dream of it you actually tried the 40elk.
  3. Hmm, I have a few cd's that wouldnt work in the past if i tried to play them with wmp, with copy control, i used the update, and it said it couldnt find anything .
  4. Mostly old skool rock like led zeppelin, ac/dc, def leppard, white lion, but i also like stuff like the corrs, the cardigans, travis, u2, coldplay, kosheen, enya, sade, nikka costa.
  5. Lol, man, have you sold the ipod also?? You might want to add that you have even if you havent, or they will think hang on, you've got an ipod, why arent you selling that if the hd5 really is better?
  6. whaaaat?? Oh well,at least we can see what WAS new lol
  7. hmm looks good i guess. I dont think that ones available in the uk neway. Besides, i got mine for like 6 us dollars so

  9. just because its ugly doesnt mean its not good. I would rather my case look ugly while mountain biking than use somethiny any less thick. Can you get a pic of the md case 4?
  10. haha, the funny thing is that i would probably buy it if i had a psp.
  11. What makes sony's system legal, in my mind at least, is that you dont have the OPTION to give your atrac or mp3 fles ripped through sonic stage to someone else, they wont work. With the new s.s 3.3 asking if you want to add copyright protection to your music, maybe it isnt so legal anymore. I always got the impression that only if you uploaded your music to the internet, or copied it for someone else it was illegal? The person who uploads the music should be the one who gets prosecuted. The thing is, the day the record labels persecute every person who has lent or borrowed a cd, copied one, downloaded, Will be the day the music industry dies. I have bought 5 cd's in the past two months, not because i couldnt have just as easily downloaded it from the internet, or because i was afraid of being caught if i did do it, but simply because i wanted to have the original on a cd with the album art. I also bought an album on sony;s connect. It can be cheaper, but the problem is, that even if they charge £0.89 or £0.99 per song, for a few pounds extra it just makes more sense to buy the original hard copy, instead of having to worry about whether your files you downloaded will stil work on your computer, if it crashes. This has happened to me before, and no, they dont play back. After sending like 10 emails, i finally got them to give me some purchase codes, to get my tracks back. And no, dont bother doing this if you have never even bought tracks off connect, they actually know what songs you have purchases, you have a sort of file. My point? Download the music if you plan to buy the original. I dont see any problem with trying before buying. If i download a track, and i see that its shit, i will be glad i didnt buy the album, and will have saved MY time and MY money in the process. I am probably putting myself up for scrutiny, but this is just where i stand at present. -greg
  12. In all honesty, there really is no point using any other remote than the rm-mc40elk with the hd5. The whole point of having a remote is so that the unit can stay in your pocket, with any other remote, you have to pick what you are going to listen to via the unit, The rm-mc40elk does everything, I;d say its well worth the extra money. you cant SKIP to another playlist. You have to press the scroll wheel on the remote, the menu comes up, and you choose a playlist, The menu looks like this: Artist Genre Album Initial Playlist You scroll down till you are on playlist, click the scroll wheel again, and then scroll down till you find the playlist you want. p.s i have an rm-mc11el and an rm-mc3el, they are a waste of time next to the 40elk, when using the hd5.
  13. Meh, the remote looks pants. No screen?? If anything is going to be the deal breaker on this for potential buyers who have actually used sony 'screened' remotes, it will be this. Is there any new knowledge on how the rm-mc40elk will function with this?
  14. Amazon was selling the hd5 battery but not anymore, which blows. A.c has good service, but the hd5 battery is a tiny bit pricey. I doubt i will get a new battery until my one starts showing signs of aging...
  15. yes, here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...1444765-3809412 That will fit the nd-hd5 quite nicely, and at that price, well whos complaining? If you dont think it fits snug enough you can always just stick it in the felt black case that came with your hd5 and THEN into the arm band case. I own 2 of these cases, they are pretty good.
  16. I'll laugh if it's anything like sonic stage, or any other sony programs i've tried, namely, the programs that came with my sony ericsson k700i.
  17. I assume that the white psp and at audiocubes are the same. In that case, I will be most definetly getting a white psp for xmas
  18. No man, Sony arent 'cheating' us. That measurement of data is commercial standard. It is a given that people assume 1000mb is equal to 1 gig. So they just go with the flow, their product looks better, and they make more money. My "160" gig external hard disk is only 158 gigs, not the full 160. My nw-hd5 has 18.5 gigs, and my lap tops "30 gig" hard disk is only really 28 or so.
  19. I still dont get what the AAL system actually does. Is there any benefit whatsoever??
  20. No, but even though japanese UMD movies are region 2, you STILL cannot play european UMD movies on the white psp. Thats what they told me, whether thats true or not, i dont know. Hey febs, are you getting the white psp, do you have a psp from audio cubes? Can you play UMD movies bought in te uk on it>??
  21. Be aware that the white psp is NOT region free on the UMD movies. I asked them.
  22. ive seen websites which actually have a real chat room thing, now THAT would be cool.
  23. It would be cool if they made a wireless remote thing that played the titles on a car stereo, like what they did for another certain mp3 player
  24. i would also suggest wait if u have the cash for one of the a series walkmans. If you think its worth the extra money, then go for it.
