The reason why Sony is in the current state that it is. I, like your self, may look to the US, as I have a sister living there. But I do live in hope. I think Sony will pull their finger out(please)

I just spoke to Sony( contact details on their UK webpage) According to him, we( UK) will get the NWZ-A82XX series after the Japanes market, but before the North American. When I mentioned that the US already had all sizes featured on their web site he was taken aback. He confessed that whilst he knew of the A8200 range, he couldn't confirm a release date, or if the 16GB would be released in the UK. Watch this space.

Yep. Credit where's credit's due. I thought, what with Sony now having a non-Japanese CEO, that this was a thing of the past . I also don't understand why Sony differentiates between the Japanese, and non-japanese markets. Not the way to run a global business!

To say that I'm gutted is an understatement. I do hope that it's all a dream and come March/April i'll open my eyes to find that Sony have done the decent thing!

On the way home from work, I came across a piece in my newspaper ( Daily Telegraph, I can't see a link to it on there website) It featured the 'street-style headphones', and mentions the 4 & 8 GB. No mention of 16GB, but it did say it should be in the shops by April!

Typically Sony then. If the staff haven't got a scooby about their latest product, what chance do the rest of us have. The one thing I can't understand is why Sony only allow a couple of months betwenn new DAPs. I mean, how long has the A81XX series been on the Market. Two or three months? Well, looking at the pictures, ( which to my eyes are very sexy) I have to say that I'm in the market for this (16GB, in Black) BUT, I won't be rushing to get one, unless the price is right ( if they are going for 220 GBP, I'll have to think again) Not bothered about NC, (and according to Markey i won't have the option here in the UK) and the need for gapless play back isn't an essential item for me. Ditto for blue tooth.

Juli you have a Zune, a A808, and I take it your in the market for this new DAP? You'll have cornered the market

Juli, thanks for posting this. 16GB is enough for most people, I think, but with the 32GB Ipod Touch just out, I can see that some may say it's not enough. I wonder what the cost will be? Exciting news!

I know people complained about SS, but I don't recall loads of people complaining about ATRAC, particularly when you read comments on sites like Amazon. I've never had a problem with either ATRAC or SS, but Sony have, for once, listened to the majority, particularly with regard to SS, and acted.

Yep Markey, you are spot on. I saw a video review on Youtube which highlighted this point. The only thing that puts me off is the asking price (over 100 GBP)

I currently own a pair of Sennheiser-CX-300B Earbuds, which are excellent value for money, and do a great job of surpressing outside noise. BUT, sometimes they irritate my ears, so i was thinking of getting some over the head phones that do the same thing. I can quite understand the reasons why you purchased the Zune. I too have been tempted to get a Ipod. But with news of a 16GB DAP, I've already started to save my pennies.With 16GB I can store my music at 320 Kbps for better quality. No doubt it'll be expensive. I reckon about 250 GBP and upwards. I hope I'm wrong.
