Unfortunately I couldn't. When I brought mine it came with Connect stage software, which, if you think Sonic stage was bad, would have had you pulling your hair out. Awful. If I had been patience, and used Sonic Stage, I would have been OK. A great sounding piece of kit. Have you tried re-installing your Sonic Stage?

One Man's truth is another Man's lie. Whilst I'm no big fan of the Ipods, many are, and are happy with them. Many diss Sony, but like myself, many are happyish with the company. The Truth in this matter is relative.

Welcome to ATRAClife. I'm sorry that you have had issues with your Sony Player. I don't consider myself a 'Sony Fanboy', but like many here I do like the Sound quality of their product, hence I still buy/own thier products. I too had the same device you currently own, and I too had problems with it. If only I had known about this website. I returned mine, but I now own a 8 GB A808, which I love. I have owned Ipods in the past, and I went to ipod related forumns for help & advice. If you decide to perserve with your player, many on here are more than willing to help. I hope you will

Basically, if iPods just sounded better, there would be no reason to look at Sony products. I agree. The Scary thing is that Apple could be so close to a better sound. If they could produce a graphic Equalizer on the Ipod, like the A800 series........... I think that Sony needs a massive restructing, at the top. If they then were willing to seek customer feedback, and research the market, like Apple did in the early nineties, all would not be lost. They have a loyal customer base, that I think they have taken for granted. But it's not all doom and gloom. Sony are still having awesome products. I think like a lot of companies that have been around for a long time, they need re-branding, and an overhaul.

Welcome back from the dark side, my friend. I too have felt the force of the Ipod, but like you remembered why I have come to the light! SQ. I'm tempted to but the new drag & drop ( can't remember the extact title of these) when i go to new York in October. watch this space!

I hope you enjoy your new Ipod. Many others do. If it meets your needs,kool. I myself am happy with Sony. Yep they aren't perfect, but my A808 works, I can listen to my music, in the SQ that I like. Good enough for me.

I think APPLE are way out the picture, in terms of Sony competing with them. The drag & drop does open up the market. Sony will always have a fan base. If Ipod lovers want to diss, Kool. let them. As long as you are happy with what you have, then that's all that matters.

I quite understand. I myself will be keeping my A808. I like you will consider other players. What about the new walkmens. Will you consider them?

For all those people who hate SS, this may be a winner, but with the 8GB being the most you can hold in this series, many may feel short changed!

I Like the look of the DR-EX32SF, but I would question the build quality, as the EX71 didn't last 6 months. Good to see new product. Exciting Times!

Not sure where you are but I have sold my ipods on Loot, in theUk, and of course ebay!

To be honest it doesn't look much difference to the A800 series. The only attraction for me would be using it without relying on SS. Apart from that I'm happy with what I have.

I wonder why Sony are always discounting models. They have always done so, but I thought that when they hit gold ( as in the A808) they might stick with it, and modernise it.

I've just purchased a A808. I am a little bit shocked by this, but I'll be satisfied with what I have. I'll be interested to see what the new products will be (HDD or Flash)

The leather case doesn't protect the screen, and does not accomadate all the buttons( especially the hold button at the back). Also I couldn't really appreciate the beauty of the player behind the leather casing.

T be honest, I think we give too much attention to Apple. yep they have the no. 1 product on the market, fair play to them. BUT I like many on here prefer something different, namely Sony. I have no interest in the new nano. I'm content with what I've got. (Saying that I'm contemplating getting the A808

I meant Protective case. I went to my local Sony centre to get a silicon case, only to be told that it came with no screen protector!
