Ah yes, I know have done my ebay search. I see this model for around $35-50. I think my limit is at $35 w/shipping included. Anything more than that I do not see myself purchasing (currently). PS - Since seeing your thread of the Cowon unit, I have been looking those. Very nice !

I had purchased my frist MD player back in 98-99. I don't remember where I bought it from, but I knew no one else had one. I had the MZ-R37 model and it has served me well through through the years. More recently 2 years ago, maybe 3, it stopped working. I looked and called around to see if I could get an electronics store to fix it, but I got some ungodly price to fix. It was as much as the unit itself if not more from the time I bought it. I cannot remember how or why it did so I went on ebay and bought a new one. I loved my model so much, I just had to get the same one. It worked great then one day the case wouldn't open and the MD was stuck inside. I thought it was a bad MD and recently I bought myself a SERVICE MANUAL to see if I could isolate the problem. Well after taking it all apart, all the internals are very delicate and SMALL. I discovered the problem after a while of inspection. I found that the latch that opens the case was not moving out of the way from the hook on the cover to let it open. Real simple solution and I was happy to have found it. I used my trusty dremel and grinded down the hook on the cover so it would be shorter so the latch could release. See the latch would not move all the way for some reason, but grinding down the hook made enough space for the release. PROBLEM SOLVED When assembling back there were a couple of ribbons that were connected onto the circuit board and they I had to pull out. Putting them back in is a very delicate matter. I ended up snapping 2 of the ribbons. I had to reuse parts and peices from my original one with the new one. But alas, my strong fingers and impatient mood broke my baby! So all I have left is my Sony VP , and MZ-NF610. If I were to see this unit again I shall surely purchase it . . . .(if its cheap enough =) _

I just pre-ordered a dozen . . . NOT!!!

There is no mention that supports the basis that games need to be installed on the HD unit. That's all on the Blu-Ray discs that are being developed. (if it were in any event the, time to download would hopefully be fast) The HD is for all other things: images ; videos ; CONNECT ; music (Atrac =( ); etc etc. Well it's my guess that this is how it would be =) It's interesting to see that Sony is trying to make a multi platform system that serves different purposes. Sounds like good idea, but by the time it is ready it may be too late. M$ has a good grasp of the market with no real competition during the '05 holiday season. As a result they already have consusmers familiar with a 'good system' like no other (at the time). As the article on SLASHDOT.com mentioned, when PS3 comes out, who is to say that M$ won't lower the price of the 360 or maybe a promotional sale to entice ? ? ? oh boy!!! Yea that a real good idea. And it really sounds highly possible. USB / Firewire ports will definately be there. THEY GOT TO BE!! They be fools if they didn't.

I think we need a drooling smily icon. This thing looks real nice. And is it true, video play back? I didn't find anything about DRM in there, I wonder how it is handled or if not at all You really think that could be a problem? How so? ____________________________________ Did anyone see a difference between 6 X5 , M5, and the M3 ? The 6 and the X5 is really looking nice. I am seriously thinking of selling my VP to get this one. Pricey though

****************SOLD************** Up for sale is a blue mini I have had for 2 days. Not really into these things, as with probably everyone else in this forum. I thought I would post it here and ebay. I had a buyer take it from, but haven't heard from him in 5 days, which is more than likely a lost bid. I am asking $150 shipping included. It comes with leather case clip, white clip, and shure white ear buds. Let me know. Reply to this thread or send me a PM

My guess is that there is either 1 team or 2 teams (probably 2) working on the Connect/PS3 issues (1 team for Connect, 1 team for PS3). There is focus on the development of the PS3 and obviously Connect is going to be playing a role with this for the when PS3 comes out, online capabilities for the music/video contant will surely be overseen by Connect. What does this all mean you ask . . . I am willing to bet that a new version of Connect would not be coming out until finishing touches have been made with PS3. Hopefully by then though, they would have worked out all the nuissasnces.

Yep, if all PS3 are getting Blu-Ray drives then the cost is gonna be crazy, which would warrant the 400-600 price range. Your comment is probably the mind set of the PS3 team, it is a shame though. This only puts more icing to that cake that everyone hates.

50gb disk? Are you saying that they will be using Blu-Ray disks ? (is that the capacity of Blu-Rays ?) Keep in mind, there will be files that need to saved in some location. These files can be saved game data, music content, video content, demos, etc etc. The PS3 is following the line of mutli-functional. A unit that ats as a media center type for games, movies, online capabilities. . . . blah blah blah. _____________________________________________________________ According to the article I linked, development kits are not slated for distribution until July and that is more than likely best case scenario if no more hold ups happen. Sony themselves need to get stuff straigtened out so they can coplete the dev kits. After that the gaming companies need time to develope their games. So July to Nov/Dec, gives them about 4/5 months to get a game ready. If you ask me thats a pretty tight deadline, and it make sense to look at '07

Isn't it soooooo much fun!!!

You do realize that this information is half informative right ? Without telling your comp specs this doesn't really mean anything.

Good job on getting your problem solved. You should seriously consider partitioning your drive. It keeps your computer organized and effecient. Dividing(partitioning) your drive splits your HD into sections that allow your computer to access the data faster. For example, your waiting in line at the check out and you left to get another item. If you didn't partition your drive, when you get back in line you have to start again at the end. If you have your drive partitioned and you leave the line, you can get back to where you were in place before. (sorry that may be a poor example, but hopefully you get it). If you don't partition you can have data on the end of the HD and to access that from the beggining of the HD takes up time and CPU usage. I recently got a 120gb and partitioned it up into different partitions to make it more effecient. Anyway its only a suggestion.

R.I.P MZ-R37 #1 & #2 PS - be very very very careful when disassembling your MD players

Do a google search of the error and see what pops up. Hopefully someone else has had this problem. We cannot proceed with SS, MP3FM or any other relevant program until we resolve this issue with SP2. Keep us posted UPDATE: A google search of "SP2 install errors HKCR" showed many results. Review the findings and see if you can isolate your problem.

I came about this site after purchasing a Sony Vaio Pocket. . . .and I was trying to infomation the same as everyone else who bought this unit, VIDEOS! Now I had stumbled onto several other sites, but this one in particular I found the most clean and simplistic. Not only that I also found alot of information on my other units that I own. Ever since late last year, I have become active in this forum on a daily level. GREAT JOB GUYS!

I have been staying abreast of the PS3 and its release date. After the frenzy of XBOX 360 with the costs, release date, comparisons and specs, I wanted to be prepared for the release of the PS3. My plan was to purchase 2 units, 1 for myself and the other I would sell off and perhaps make a nice profit to recover costs from the 1st one. The cost of the PS3 is surely going to be very pricey ranging anywhere from $400-600. I think Sony is making a bad move on this and will lose alot of consumers. It is true that the machine will possess awesome capabilities, but Sony needs to keep in mind who is giving them their money for this. Are we talking about teens/young adults who will be using it or the adults/young professionals ? Another thing is the time at which it is going to be released. Will it make for this year? I can remember last year it was said to be targeted for spring of 06. Well it is more or less spring and where's PS3 ? I next figured Sony would be trying to create desires for the holiday season and changed the schedule to shoot for Xmas 06. After reading up more it doesn't even seem that this will be possible. In any event I thought it would be fun and informative to start a thread on PS3, no? I read an interesting article for those who like to read up on this. http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=0...551246&from=rss So what sorts of info / rumors / buzz / components have you all heard ?

Could you further provide in ? - what is you HD size ? - is your HD partitioned? If so what partition sizes have you set up ? - are there alot of programs running in the taskbar (/background) ? If your computer was running before and now it is not, something obviously happened. I doubt it has anything to do with SS or FF.

It would seem that the images do not show. Did you use the attach option we have in the forum? I really want to see what it looks like. Okay, well let us trouble shoot some more: - Is this your personal home computer ? - Gone to the M$ site and used the update feature to install all most recent updates ? - Uninstall all relevant progs, then flush/clean your registry settings for progs(*), then reboot, then install again * using a registry cleaning program fixes all registry settings that are invalid. I use a program called RegCleaner. I think it was actually made by a Dutchman, not sure. You can find here -> http://www.worldstart.com/weekly-download/...-cleaner4.3.htm You will need to setup some options before running. BE CAREFUL when using this program. Because we are talking about your registry be careful, I only use this program for the main purpose of this procedure. REF the pics and select the optoins I have. Be sure to SELECT all files RegCleaner finds as invalid and click REMOVE SELECTED. You should be all set when completed. My guess is that your registry has some keys that are affecting the program to work properly. I know in this forum, I have seen a few threads with registry info to delete (I think Stuge knows a few). You can do them manually by finding them, but this program hopefully should do it for us. Good Luck

Odd your having problems. What happens when you open SS ? Can you give us a screen shot of the errors for SS, MP3 FM and VP.....You said its in Dutch right?...which would mean the shots would be pointless to me (US). I wonder if the correct versions (regionis) were installed. . . .
