What type of error? Can you post a pic of it? -
Oh Jenni from the block!!!! I am right there with ya....thus far I loaded up 15 GBS of music, and thats only albums. I have to do my compilation CDs soon and dreading the amount of time its gonan take renaming all my tracks. Unfortunately, I don't there is any way to get around it, other than to edit your MP3 tags before you import OR organize them through SS...sorry My wish, would to have a voice automated ......

In order to use "VP Music Transfer", does not one need to have a VP first??
-
Wow, seems like alot of people are having problems with it. Well, I shall be sure NOT to sure that function. But on another note, I don't think I would need to use that function really. I a would consider myself an anal person, would is organzied. All my tracks I load on are already orgranzied, so it is pointless to even run optimization and have it ended up disorganized. HA HA

GYM | Network Walkman BROWSER-PLAYER-EXTRACTOR
JSP62 replied to xispe's topic in Grab Your Music (GYM)
No bugs, in the beta version. I would believe most, if not all, are using this version. I am using and there is nothing wrong. Changes between beta and previous, you ask ??? don't know. If you really want to know, I am sure there is a version history off the GYM website. GYM development by Xispe, has been complete. The project goal of GYM has been met and the creator has stopped further development. Tid-bits and small tweaks are of course always being suggested, but for the most part it is a done deal. **PLEASE show your support and thanks to Xispe for the development of this great program he wrote on his own time, by sending a donation on his site http://clientes.netvisao.pt/~sonygym -
GYM | Network Walkman BROWSER-PLAYER-EXTRACTOR

Yea, I had the same issue and was able to resolve Answer: You should put the GYM folder and all its contents on your unit so you can copy to a different computer. Solution to error: SEE ABOVE! Helpful info I got from STUGE and its seemed to do the trick...thanks again -
Yes, I know those options work as well, but if you ask me its pretty cumbersome.....and after organizing and renaming all my tracks, albums, atrists, titles, genre. Thus far I have organized 15GB of music ....what does the mean...well lets break down the numbers: [ 15GB * 1024MB(=1GB) ] / 5MB/song = 3072 songs.....12/CD = 256 albums roughly!! ....so yea, I would like some method of doing it quickly rather than, rip cd to computer, import from computer, transfer to player ...but it looks like I am S.O.L. PS - Audiograbber is great, I use it too.

Bro, I have no clue....BUT WELCOME TO 2006 I have no clue how you could stand the wait. Nice PC specs

I remember loading up Sound Forge one day, but never played with it. I use COOL EDIT / Nero for any type of editing. COOL EDIT seems to be very nice and was the defining standard in early 2000. Though I haven't used much, cause Nero takes care of my needs. I'll take a look whne I get home and let you know if it can read atrac. My guess is that it might not be do-able cause of Sony's proprietary atrac.

Can anyone answer if "burned" CD can be imported into SS ? I am having trouble getting a cd I made into SS. ref attached pic for error Bascially, I am looking to see if I can import a cd (copied/storebought music) and then transfer to Vaio Pocket and still be able to get GYM to import back onto computer. Any help?
-
In the words of Tony The Tiger...... "YOOOURRRRRR GRRREEAT!" ...okay okay, so I modified it Thanks, copying from home to office did the trick!. I can now rest assured I can transfer any/all my tracks on my VP to another computer.
-
Reference the Sony Vaio Pocket Support Forum: CLUB VAIO http://www.club-vaio.com/clubvaio/mvnforum...ad?thread=29390 BASICALLY: - Open SS - right click song - select Properties - select Liner tab - type in lyrics / copy&paste *NOTE* 6 words per line - when complete click ok

How would we know if we have gone beyond the limit specified? What would GYM do ? Would it freeze? Would it display an error meesage? Would it skip to the next song that fit within the speficied limit?

In keeping my promise of helping to contribute (ref: http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?...pic=369&st=375) to your hard work XISPE, I have donated some money to you. Though it is small, please accept this token of my gratitude. THANK YOU. Still working on some issues, but nonetheless. PS - I know the project is complete, but may I suggest a "quick controls" function of some sort for the task tray, so that we do not need to maximize the UI ? PSS - For all you others using GYM, I hope that you can contribute some money to XISPE. He did an exceptional job and we should thank him.

Good call, no I didn't do it. Your thinking perhaps some of the files I didn't copy (other than 'tmp' folder) has some specific settings that could be giving me the problem. I didn't think of that. I copy all info 'GYM' folder to my VP and copy to my office computer. Thanks....I'll post again with results tomorrow AM keep your fingers crossed

Not being able to using Connect is not even an issue for me. It's funny I really don't even know what it is for..nor do I care to know. It's for buying music right? Yea Thanks for the heads up Stuge Thanks for the modified SS 3.4 JE version...by chance do you have a modified A-P version? Most likely not, so what would I need to do ? Run the A-P installer as is and mod the registry ?

How insanely cumbersome it is

NOTE: FOR USERS WHO CONSIDERING US TO JAPAN / ASIA-PACIFIC. I have included relevant threads for you to read up on, to save you the trouble of searching. http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=529&hl= http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?...+initialization http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?...+initialization http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?...l=registry+edit I had done a search for the difference between the JAP and A-P versions of SS, and I could not find anything. Can anyone adviseon the differences? The reason why I ask, is cause all the references I see to installing a different version of SS on an US computer/ previsouly installed US SS software refer to the JAP. Can I follow the steps of registry editing the same on A-P version as with the JAP version? PS - how rampant the intials terminolgies are on this post...(A-P , JAP, US)..I feel bad for all those who cannot follow

This question is probably best answered by Ishi & Stuge, which I can tell already know the ins & outs of SS / GYM. I am currently using SS 3.3 US on my home and work computer. I know that with version 3.4, DRM has been taken out. Does anyone know if upgrading from 3.3 US to 3.4 Japan can be done? ...actually now that I think about it??? It can can't it? 3.3 will be uninstalled allowing for any fresh version of SS to be installed again right?

This is big POO POO! But it's the only way.....play in real-time and record and save as new format, correct ? I am in the same position more or less, I purchased my VP used and wanted the original songs on the VP. SS coulnd't play them cause I did have DRM licenses. I have done a lot of searching (TOO MUCH) and with the help and advise I have been able to find on this great forum, recording in real-time is the only way.
