  1. Starman : have you tried using a different program such as SimpleBurner? coz if it works in that and not SS then it's SS' problem...if it doesn't work on either try reinstalling the drivers...if that don't work then it's probably the unit...
  2. Apocalypse : you could use SimpleBurner next time to transfer ur tuens...since they don't have the st00pid "Protected Track" error that u get when u transfer via SS1.5...
  3. aeriyn : yup that's right...it runs the internal first then the external...
  4. no other MD's out there has those particular functionalities i'm afraid...so you're basically stuck with only that choice...
  5. kingofallwhites : not to a cd or mp3 i don't think...not yet...i hear that there are problems and it only uploads to the computer as sony's proprietary file which u can't really do anything with i'm afraid...but they are working on an .omg -> .wav converter i hear so it should be soon before it would be able to do what you want...
  6. ethan hunt : SS2 can be downloaded in English for free thru a free "update" from sony...and the MD units that come from Japan is in English...it was for my N10..menu's etc were in english...only difference was that there was a option in one of the menus that was in kanji but that was all...the software shipped with it was in japanese but that can easily be gotten around...
  7. peanutismint : seems to me that your MD is giving up the ghost...i had the same problems as you did just before my recording head in my N1 unit clonked out and i had to take it back for repairs...
  8. Rumz : yup i agree with that, i'd be interesting in getting a Hi-MD deck since i luv decks for recording stuff...wonder wot kind of range they'll have for Hi-MD decks since they've got quite a few for std MD's (with NetMD capability)...
  9. Isainsbury : i think u'v found the answer out already but no it can't be done via SonicStage unfortunately...no such feature exists...yet...
  10. Mat : yup that's right but i hear sometimes really high quality analogue cables can match the recordings done via optical cables...
  11. aeriyn : yup that's right, but the MD HandyCam never really took off in other places outside of Japan i don't think...and it never really had the interests of the public so it got scrapped a while back? (not too sure about this)
  12. Mat : yup that's right...u can only use the units one at a time otherwise the software goes a little haywire i'd suspect...but try it if ur bored and c wot happens...
  13. yeh i agree...wonder wot the 2nd gen of Hi-MD's have in store for us...
  14. interesting pic... that'll be an interesting unit to see on the market...wonder how much it'll cost IRL...
  15. August?!?!? 0.o here in Syd they're saying sumtime this month the NH1 would come in...but no matter i'm getting mine from Japan anyways...i want my Kanji support ...
  16. yeh i agree...false marketing in a way on Sony's part...you can u/l but u can't burn... kinda sux having companies stick to their own proprietary format and not licencing other vendors to allow them to convert to and from other file types...
  17. thx d00d..nice job w/ teh forums...
  18. i would hope that u would be able to title each track...i could do that with my older units based on normal standard MD's...and what did you mean by limited in the number of tracks you can put on a disc? like the number of times you can transfer over to an MD on one particular song or the number of songs u can fit on the disc? if the former then it has been more or less become obselete since you can get around that using various methods, if u mean the latter then you're only limited to the size of the actual MD but if u meant that u have short tracks then i think there is a certain number of tracks that u can put onto an MD before the track limit hits the max and you can't get any more...i think this is close to around ~250-300 tracks on normal MD and not too sure bout Hi-MD since i hav'n bought one as yet...
  19. it looks like just a normal USB B -> 5 pin cable i think....u can get them at a normal electronics store...
  20. u could get a Sony MDSJB980 deck...it's a nice new deck with optic out and a lot of other nice features...or if u didn't want to spend that much for a new one u can take a look at the MDSJE780 instead...lowest Sony deck w/ Optical output...
  21. heyyy funky... i'm liking this more than my iPod...
  22. yup i agree...that's gonna be one sweet portable floppy disk replacement for my laptop in future... but for the time being the Hi-MD would do...
  23. MS Pro and MS (normal) are a little different in their structure...MS Pro doesn't work with Sony products that can only use MS...but some of the newer Sony devices that do have the capability of using MS Pro kinda sux coz not all support the high speed parallel transport mode they use for faster access speeds...and there's no way MS is faster than CF...SD i can agree upon but not MS...it's one of the slower media out there along with MMC's and SM...
