  1. Definitely go for the NHF800, as it will deliver you a great experience with Hi-MD (moreso than the NH600 ever could).
  2. Thanks for the thoughts; it's really neat to get a perspective on this before it hits North America. Your observations are very specific and would probably be in tune with my own. About the web browser, how do sites like MDCF or ALC look? (ignore, just saw your update) Is there alot of side-scrolling involved? Have you done anything with the h.264 codec yet? I'm surprised you didn't speak more of the video additions as I remember in our conversations you noted that you purchased this primarily as an entertainment device for non-gaming scenarios, e.g. "speaker net" (lol).
  3. No, these must be recordings made on a Hi-MD disc in PCM format.
  4. Reinstall via the directions in the FAQ and install Sonicstage 3.2 from the online installer in the Downloads section.

    FLAC

You need to upgrade to Simple Burner 2; it's available in the Downloads section of the forums. Also, you may want to try dBpowerAMP Music Converter for your FLAC converting needs - this is also available in the downloads section.
  6. If you record in Hi-SP and convert it to a comparable bitrate, the loss in quality won't be that bad.
  7. Well, he's already got the player so we might as well try and help him. Let's start off fresh, champa..uninstall via the directions in the FAQ and install Sonicstage 3.2 via the Installer in the Downloads section.
  8. I'd never had the time to sit down and read this piece, but the topic title has stayed in my head since this was created earlier this month. I was finally able to give it a read this morning. It's truly saddening the events that have occured there, and Mr. Hemon's words strike a chord so deep within me that I have troubles speaking anything further about the matter. I can imagine Hermon as he put this together, traveling through the streets as a wandering poltergeist admist the forlorn surroundings..a true tragedy has occured, and I fear that no matter the initative the pain will never be eased.
  9. Which *.mp3 files? MD records in ATRAC, not *.mp3. The reason why most people convert to wav for editing is because most programs can read *.wav, not ATRAC files.
  10. If you are using our installer, please use the offical one from connect-europe.com. I would also make sure your DirectX version is at 9.0c.
  11. Was there any errors, or was it completely inaccessable?
  12. Higher densities will come in due time. I doubt it'd be two, most likely 3 or 5. This thread is really going nowhere though, so when more concrete information comes up that we can base discussion on then we'll talk further.
  13. Interesting.. When I try to open it via the Start menu, I get this error: Cannot open the file: mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program Files\Sony\Sonicstage\Data\Help\OMGJBOX.chm
  14. Welcome to the forums! Sonicstage 3.x actually takes a lesser hit on the system resources than Sonicstage 2.x. I doubt it'll "kill" your old computer, but to ensure that nothing goes wrong make sure you have the latest Windows Updates, DirectX at the latest version, etc.
  15. If you want in on the deal, I can help you get it.
  16. Great work, Damage. This section of the forums was a little dry and needed this type of contribution. Pinned.
  17. And you have SS3.2? Strange, I wonder why it's not working for me..
  18. Good points, Damage, and furthermore, good topic Snacks. I think that Blue-Ray (subsequently BR) will find wide acceptance with the PS3, and that alone for a generation or two before being widely accepted. HD-DVD will seemingly win the war at first, but the higher density and great flexibility of the BR medium will come out on top as more equipments become compatible with it. If they create a well-priced BR (IDE/SATA) drive burner for the computer then that could really drive the format.
  19. In Sonicstage, try going to Help and then Sonicstage Help, or press F1 within the program. Does it load for you? It doesn't work for me. I was also unable to open it when going to Start > Programs > Sonicstage > Sonicstage Help. I then tried opening it in C:\Program Files\Sony\SonicStage\Data\Help and still didn't work! If this is occuring for everyone, smooth move Sony!
  20. I agree. It would be silly for Hi-MD to continue using LP2/LP4 in it's third generation.
  21. This store isn't Canada only; you can get shipping to the United States..for $10.
  22. Please ask this at our new forum, ATRACLife Colloquium.
  23. Welcome to the forums. You need to download Service Pack 2 (which nullifies this entire problem) - by not employing SP2 your computer will not function in the best way possible with Sonicstage but you're also susceptible to a slew of viruses.
