  1. Welcome to the forums - please read the pinned rules topic at the top of the forum and also upgrade to Sonicstage 3, which is also pinned in a stickied topic at the top of the forum.
  2. Straight PCM will rock ATRAC3/plus any day. I say wait for Sharp Hi-MD, get the best of both worlds.
  3. Nah, this menu interface is much better than anything in any previous portable.
  4. MZ-NH900JE > native RM-MC40ELK > MDR-D66 [attachmentid=88] A little blurry, my apologies.
  5. It seems like the consensus on the HD digital amp is skewed amongst the community and shunned amongst audiophiles. It does lack a little bit in comparison to the warmth and more mature coloration of the Auvi or Kenwood offerings, but still excels in certain genres. Whilst most say that these things offer nothing to sound and it's hogwash is a different matter, but I honestly can't agree.
  6. Yes, you can fill out the specs in the rules: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8027
  7. I would definitely go with Reactive..the delta mic they make is really stunning at times. I was asked once why I don't advertise Sound Professionals, as it'd be seemingly a more logical choice then some little company in Canada. The reason is because their mics are really great in construction, presentation, quality and so forth. I look forward to buying the aforementioned Auri very soon as well.
  8. My girlfriend ordered a NH900JE for me from Audiocubes one week before Christmas '04 as a surprise gift. Great. So, three days later, Audiocubes e-mails her and tells her the color she selected, black, was not in stock - AFTER taking out $400 for the unit. For more than nine months Audiocubes had listed this color in stock. The only color available was silver, and that is easily obtainable here in the States. The only reason the NH900JE was desireable was it hypothetically came in BLACK and with a RM-MC40ELK. So, my girlfriend e-mails them back and asks if they can locate a black model in Japan. Day 4, they e-mail us back with a firm "No." By this point she informs me and the surprise is over. I guide her correspondence from this point; she then e-mails them back to see if it even comes with a RM-MC40ELK. They say no. For nine months Audiocubes listed the unit having the RM-MC40ELK. I bounce to Sony Japan ecat product listings and confirm that it does come with such. My girlfriend then e-mails them back and they change their minds and now say it does. End of day 4, three days left until Christmas. My girlfriend, even with her little knowledge of the format, knew that obtaining a NH900 with RM-MC40ELK that close to Christmas would be impossible. Pricing a black NH900 @ teamdigital [$320] and a RM-MC40ELK would be about $375. Getting a silver NH900 and a RM-MC40ELK would be about $320 in the US. Obtaining back $400 from Audiocubes probably would've taken a week. My girlfriend goes ahead and lets Audiocubes ship the silver NH900JE. This was a very bad experience, and if I wasn't knowledgeable I imagine it would've been hell. Hence why they're not really advertised much anymore.
  9. cNet is still a pretty idiotic portal for information. A real gem on the front page the other day was a voting page for Sony's PSP vs. iPod. What the hell is that? It's definitely keen that the unit is there, but sometimes I wonder if the mp3 compatibility will be a good thing or not; I could've thought of a hundred other alterations from last generation to this that would've had more impact.
  10. You've tried a different disc, right? What about NetMD music playback?
  11. Welcome, akan. Slightly overlooked here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7073 Try reading that, and then throw related keywords in the search and find some good threads about this. We've discussed it quite a bit..
  12. - Yes. - Yes, in the MZ-NH1 manual. - They're okay. You'll be fine with this purchase, but I don't like them with larger transactions.
  13. Centralizing the FAQ's will occur after I do galleries, live recording archive, etc. We're running at a good pace at the moment, so it's a little on the backburner [but not completely neglected]. Additionally, as atrain stated, the search engine here is an extremely powerful, yet often overlooked device. I would also suggest the custom MDCF google search, with the ability to search minidisc.org seperately, the forums, or the web. http://forums.minidisc.org/google.html
  14. Don't worry about Tony, he's a little .
  15. Nice points and 'caps there, Dex..perhaps them Sony people are paying attention after all. That first screenshot nearly made me cough on my water I was drinking, Sony actually put some thought into this! Rejoice! I wonder if this version is completely impervious to uploading woes - there was a few cases of botching even with 2.3, but were rare. The *.wav converter is nice, but I'll take Marc's kthx.
  16. Welcome to the forums. You went here? http://sonicstage.connect.com/SonicStageInstaller.exe
  17. Seems like he can't contain himself much longer.
  18. No, I was referring to the topic linking a *.rar file that was posted on the same day of the Sonicstage 3 release.
  19. We removed that download link as we can't verify the integrity of that installation. I advise uninstalling and installing the official release.
  20. Thank you for your donation, garyc. We appreciate it here, and wish you well.
  21. When upgrading, there's no need to uninstall via the directions in the FAQ. Sonicstage installer facilitates such. You're 100% positive that the content has been converted into ATRAC3/plus? What bitrate are the *.mp3's?

    How About Psp?

I really want one of these, but I'm being reasonable and waiting for the US release. This is one of the most revolutionary handhelds of our time. Too many purchases on the horizon, and I need to be saving my money. I hate living in the future sometimes.
  23. Nothing yet, but it's assumed that Audiocubes will be the first to sell the JP version.
  24. Thanks jade, sharp as a knife and never dull as always. They must've thrown that logo in there as a mistake, as I'm fully sure that these second generation units only write in Hi-MD mode in any ATRAC3/plus flavor and now mp3. They can play back NetMD-written discs, though.
