Profiles are still broken. Sorry! I will try and get this fixed as soon as possible. Anyway, I think we're finally in the clear with google. Hopefully this will mean many more hits for the forum. Additionally, I restructured the forum a bit. I hope it's acceptable and not confusing.

Welcome, solra! You should post in the Technical Support or NetMD forum. Additionally, be sure to read the NetMD faq found within the NetMD forum.
-
Can someone verify this?
-
Are you using Windows XP? If so, upgrade to Service Pack 2. It has everything relevant to the database components you mention.
-
I think you should reinstall via the directions in the NetMD faq. It's found within the NetMD forum. Additionally, can you state where you're from?
-
You need to use the Sonicstage backup utility for this I believe..but I may be misunderstanding you. Are you referring to the track title and information? If so, then that should be automatically inserted by CDDB.
-
You cannot employ this version of Sonicstage unless you have a Japanese installation of Windows!
-
Hello, please upgrade to Sonicstage 2.2 at connect.com.

Jeff's idea will work, unless you're on a digital payphone then you may have some issues. Additionally, one of my first MD endeavors was putting the tones of a quarter, nickel and dime on a MD in SP mode so I could get free phone calls via a payphone [it's called red-boxing, google it]. Ah, those were the days.. Additionally, be sure that if you use ksandbergfl's idea, put it in Hi-LP.

Actually Donna, aside from this [be sure to check out the multiple pages], there is also a DIN unit with a special amp that you can purchase, and BMW also has options in certain models to facilitate iPods. Functionality to the tune of you hook the iPod up to the amp and control the iPod through the DIN unit.

Battery Life Extention -- Using AA NiMH with NH900?
Christopher replied to etotheix's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Those weren't real world figures, but estimates put out by Sony in "optimal" conditions. The highest capacity gumstick is actually 1750mAh, and it's available here: http://www.bargaining4all.com/catalog/prod...products_id=193 -
Welcome to the forums, Weaves. I think Donna was looking at 2DIN units if I'm not mistaken..

It's a tossup between the Sony WX-5900MD or Pioneer FH-P077MD in my opinion. Both black, good EQ options, etc. You probably already know the features of both by heart, eh? :rasp: Asthetically, the Sony does it for me, but the Pioneer has such amazing functionality for the price point.

What kind of speakers do you have in your car?

Is mp3 support important to you?

Welcome aboard.. Mate, you should try searching the forums! This is an easy one. If you're in the US, http://connect.com/download.html If you're in the UK, http://www.connect-europe.com/ And if you're in Japan, http://mora.jp/

I got rid of the users of the day modification because I'm trying to fix the Google issue once and for all. This should be the last time I have to deal with this and ALL of the topics within the forum should be spidered by the end of tomorrow [hopefully]. Anyway, I broke the profiles, bear with me whilst I try and fix it. It'll probably be fixed by tomorrow evening, EST.

Sounds damn good to me, even if you end up getting a 670.

?Recovering OMG data from a dead HDD to new install?
Christopher replied to tref_h's topic in Software
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there's nothing you can do. The only way to do this is to use the Sonicstage backup utlity. Welcome to the forums, btw. -
No, don't apologize, I'm glad I could help..and it's good to have these types of posts to assure that when someone searches for something relevant to this they'll find the right thread to read.
-
Please go to connect.com and download Sonicstage 2.2.
-
Perhaps, but they're easy to find. btw Henris, I've been doing some more reading and it looks like the ease of use of Hi-MD in the recording sense makes it a more versatile option than the CNJB3 - this seems to be a common sentiment. Go figure.

Actually, some have said that SP sounds better - and it's not ATRAC3 132kbps, it's ATRAC 292kbps. If you record via NetMD, SP will record as 132kbps, but if you record in real-time it's 292kbps. Anyway, with that aside, it's been said that SP does still sound a bit better in the ABX tests I've read, and I assume this is because it's a more mature inclination of ATRAC, whereas Hi-SP is ATRAC3plus in it's near infancy. If all goes well, Sharp and the other big guys should release units in Q1 2005. If they don't, then I'm going to be worried about the future of the format. As for mp3 support, it's very likely given what has been going on with Sony as of late. There's no definite word on any of this, so all we can do is merely speculate. I have a good feeling, however. It probably is, but I doubt Sony will release firmware upgrades and probably just save new features for a new generation that we'll have to spend money on. :rasp: Not yet mate, but I will try and accelerate progress with that if I get a NH900. I'd love for a new round of hacks to happen for Hi-MD.

Have you tried searching mate? Since we have such a great group of recording enthusiasts I think we've covered this one before. Here's a sample topic to get you started: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=6359 You may want to try searching for just hiss and see what pops up.
