  1. Hopefully Cori will chime in about this business as she's pretty knowledgeable. I've heard some decent things about the boostaroo, but if I were to buy commercial I'd probably go with: http://www.fixup.net/products/index.htm ..the Super Mini or Super Micro. They're a little expensive however, so it may not be the best solution. I believe your best bet would to DIY, but that's my opinion.
  2. Welcome to the forums. You must upgrade to Sonicstage 2.2 if you're in North America @ www.connect.com , 2.1 if you're in Europe @ www.connect-europe.com OR www.mora.jp if you're in Japan before we can continue.
  3. Another thing that may work is installing Sonicstage 1.5 and then doing the Sonicstage 2.# updater on top of it.
  4. Are you using Windows XP? I think I just figured out how to correct this dilemma.
  5. I appreciate your kind words and hope to see more posts from you in the future. That luddite bit had me laughing for a while yesterday.
  6. Also, if you click on the [G] link next to Search at the top of the forums, you can then use a Google search to search only Minidisc.org [be sure to click the little dot next to minidisc.org once you're in]. I would suggest a search term like "Minidisc science"
  7. Welcome to the forums. Let's talk about your Minidisc player first before digressing onto other things. What about your NH700 is so complicated? Ask us some questions and perhaps we can make the experience a little bit easier for you. You're employing the latest version of Sonicstage @ connect.com, right? You've read about marcnet's utility as well, correct? I also want you to do some homework. There are some great threads in the Live Recording forum [besides the stickies] that discuss live recording scenarios and how to make the most out of them.
  8. I talk about it briefly here: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?p=35763#35763 Unfortunately, it will be a while until I can fix it again. But, you can always edit your profile [the stuff that will show in posts] via the Profile option at the top of the header. I apologize for the inconvienance this has caused.
  9. Keep us informed on how it's going, and don't forget that if all else fails you can always try reinstalling via the directions in the NetMD faq.
  10. Most likely headphones, but I'd give them a mail just to be sure I suppose. I wouldn't suggest you adhere to those 'phones, and employ some with better sound quality. Minidisco, a sponsor of the forums and parent site, minidisc.org, are a great US e-tailer to purchase Minidisc equipments from. I would recommend them wholeheartedly. datavis.com is the best US price and they do ship across the pond. If you buy there, be sure to get the latest price before adding it to your cart.
  11. Stating your maximum budget would be a good idea. Be sure to check out our guide that's stickied at the top of the forum, btw.
  12. Sonicstage 2.# is converting the tracks to mono format? Are you sure about this? I've never heard of this one before..
  13. I agree with Nismo..what's your maximum budget?
  14. Welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, only Hi-MD units can employ USB playback.
  15. You can point to the directory in which the music files are held and then import it via Sonicstage from there.
  16. #1: Yes, AFAIK. You charge the NH1 via the cradle, and you use it in the USB sense via the unit. There is no USB attachment on the cradle, so you must take it out of such before hooking it up to the computer. Yes, it's retarded, but not that big of a hassle.
  17. Q1 2005 will be the months to look for new equipment. I would not be surprised to see more units from Sony and perhaps different manufacturers.
  18. Be sure to tell Audiocubes that you're a Minidisc Community Forums member.
  19. Welcome to the forums. I will leave this post here and not mark it as spam and put it in the bin, but I usually encourage that most people at least post a few times before advertising and then disappearing completely. :rasp:
  20. Glad to hear. So, are you going to upload this to a website associated with the choir? Have you distributed the recording amongst the choir members? What a nice Christmas present that would be, amongst other things.
  21. So Rumz, you're telling me you have the gumption to let that beaut sit idle until Christmas?
  22. ffs, what color are you keen on and what is the most you'll pay for a NH900 from the US?
  23. You can always try reinstalling via the directions in the NetMD faq, found within this forum.
  24. You're right - I was in a rush at at work, so I apologize. I usually rip most of my stuff into wav for archival purposes, however.
