I'd get a Sharp DR-7. You realize that you cannot upload what you've recorded digitally with NetMD, right? k [woot; 100th post and what a WASTE!]
-
To answer your question: Good deal.

What, Guest?
-
Write a program to download music from the MD. Please? heh k

Well, it wasn't broken, but I could tell it was on its way. My friend and others had dropped it over the course of a year and it started making odd noises when I played MD's. So I sent it to them and they pretty much gave me a new one. k

How careful are you with your electronics? When my MZ-R700DPC broke, I harassed Sony on the phone for a while before they eventually gave up and fixed it. It was way out of warranty, but I lied and told them different. From what I've heard, extended warranties are nothing more than more money to the company's pocket. later k

..and you'll need a male to male stereo cable. Cheap ($5 - 10) and you can get it at Radio Shack. Since the connection is Analog, it wouldn't be as good as digital. Once you master analog recordings however, it's hard to tell the difference. later k

The problem is getting the actual drive. I talked to Kohn at audiocubes, and he looked for it, but he can't get it to sell. I doubt anyone would sell it without drivers, but I'm sure it'll pop up for sale one day. later k

If you hack it to have Type R encoding, then it's almost as good as any current sony recorder/player out now. Are you getting the 700DPC or the 700PC? later, k -

Go with the 700DPC. You can hack it up to a 900 and hack it to Type-R. You can't go wrong with that! I've had one for a long time now, and I haven't been disappointed at all. hope this could help, k -
etronics.com is an awesome online store. I like eBay, too. later k

*gets up on soapbox* My comrades, It's so hard to really post anything here, because it seems like someone at the T-station has posted it before! I propose that we end all linking to the T-board! Viva Minidisc.org forums! k

I thought this was funny. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=15056 Yep.

I'll inform you about uploading, because that's all I can really give you good advice about. You'll need to go to radio shack and get a male to male stereo cable. They are pretty inexpensive; 7-8 bucks at the most. Then, check out this very informative site: http://www.minidisc.org/netmd_analog_uploading.html Analog recording isn't as good as digital recording, but once you have your volume(s) set right, it'll be gravy. I promise. later k

I agree with doclloyd completely. -
Good choice on the Aiwa buds. The MDR-D22's do have a 30mm driver unit, which is good enough for my needs. There is another set of 'eggo'-type headhpone that audiocubes sells, the MDR-D66, but they cost $89.00. Too much for headphones in my opinion, and I've heard alot of good things about the ones I'm getting anyways. I'm sure one day I'll get the 66's, but they do only come in one color (black) and I think the blue 22 will match my blue MZ-R700 quite nicely. Good talkin' to you bud. later k

woot, go daijoubu!

From the specs, it looks like the Aiwa HP-VX100's pack more bang for the buck. The seven dollar difference between the 70 and the 71? I don't see one, besides the silver color available for the 71. Eggo are a Japan-only release set of headphones that are big amongst MD users. I bought these: http://www.audiocubes.com/product_info.php...&products_id=42 I can't wait. k
