I would suggest, but I'm not too sure about headphones that cost under $40.00. I'm sure someone will respond. k

Hm. What's your price range? k

Please Help! Jogging, external mic, ripping mp3s, cds, downl
Christopher replied to patrickklenny's topic in Minidisc
NetMD is the only quick way to download music to Minidiscs with a portable recorder. There are other methods to quickly transfer music to MD, but then we'd be talking about deck systems and stuff. I somewhat like the MZ-N707. Two of my friends have one, and I've had a chance to use the NetMD interface and mess around with the actual unit. It's nice, but remember that NetMD SP is nothing more than ghost LP2. If you want to make perfect SP recordings, be sure to pick up a toslink. Of course, then there's Sharp. I wouldn't mind a Sharp recorder myself, such as a DR-7. I don't like NetMD at all, so I'll probably never purchase a NetMD recorder. Real-time is fine for me. later k -
I'm not sure. Good luck, though. k

Well, there is a plethora of models that fit your criteria. The most important question is, do you wish to have NetMD (ability to burn music to MD at possibly 32x +)? Do you wish for the model to be Sony or something else? What color do you fancy? Answer these questions and I can find you a good model. k -
I believe what this is what you're looking for: http://www.minidiscaccess.com/item.html?PRID=1339466 and colored ones: http://www.minidiscaccess.com/item.html?PRID=1264354 k

I meant their hardware, not software. k

Well, it's not like they figured people would be hacking their products. k

Indeed. I just found out a couple of days ago that pressing the sound button down changes the treble/bass. When I put the treble all the way up it was like I entered some state of 'Eggo'-nirvana. The sound was no longer muffled, but crisp and clear. This all happened at work, and I stopped for a moment and just froze. It was excellent. k

Definitely. When I record with my 700DPC I hear nothing of the sort, espically in my live music recordings. I had to double check to make sure of this. I'm surprised you don't use DAT, to be quite honest. I know that the UPN tv station in Atlanta, Georgia uses the Minidisc format, however. Good luck with all this. k

So, at three am this morning, I was aimlessly wandering around eBay and I started looking at MDLP-capable Minidisc players. Low and behold, I come across a mint MZ-E505 (specs) with a "buy it now" for $90.00 with $10.00 shipping. The auction had just started, and had very little page views according to the counter. When I saw it I got worried, because I knew someone would snatch it up soon. So I contemplated for a moment and let eBay get the best of me. Or did eBay get the best of me? Oh yeah - this is the color I got: What do you think? Is my girlfriend wrong in stating that my investment was a "farce"? I asked her if she was jealous and she said yes! muhaha. k

Take Leland's words as strong advice. If you can find all the accessories at a decent price, go for the N1. I would. k

Sorry that things aren't working out for you. Oh yeah, do you work for PBS? What was it that you intended to record? k

Good stuff here as well: http://www.audiocubes.com/index.php?cPath=37_40 Hope this helps. k

One of my old friends had a 707 and I thought it was pretty cool. I think iPod's are nice, but I'm in too deep with Minidisc to consider anything else. Sorta like a "long-term relationship", except I know I won't cheat. k

I altered my avatar to go along with the color scheme, but I agree..it would be nice to have some options in the scheme department. Doubt it will happen, though. chris

I know it's been a while since I've done anything with this, but I'm here to say that I got a new color cartridge and the label-making shall commence once more. Keep on the lookout. k -
Do you think SOny Electronics are P***ed off at Sony music?
Christopher replied to AJUK's topic in The Loft
I think Sony is putting alot of their efforts into the "Cell" project and Playstation III right now. Plus, Star Wars Galaxies just came out as well. k -
Recording Live Shows with a Sony MZ-N707, Help
Christopher replied to Tennessee Jed's topic in Minidisc
Hi, and welcome to the minidisc.org forums. I don't know the answer to your question(s), but I do know that double-posting in seperate forums isn't appreciated. Thanks. chris -
I'm wondering if this is another case of over-charging. k

hi,in this harddisk mp3 time,to choose MP3?or md??
Christopher replied to lightid's topic in Minidisc
Whilst it is true that alot of money and energy is invested in the HDD player craze, it doesn't mean us Minidisc users have to fret. The Minidisc format has been around for more than a decade now. Advancing slowly, but coming along quite well. It's up to Sony if they wish to delve more $ into the Minidisc format to compete with HDD. Alot of new models came out this year, so it's only a matter of time. I guess. *shrug* Sony is confusing. k -
I apologize, I made an error in my statement: "You realize that you cannot upload what you've recorded digitally with NetMD, right?" should be You realize that you cannot upload digitally (USB, etc) anything that you've recorded unless you have one of the newer, more expensive decks. And no, you cannot upload digitally with the DR-7. However, you can still upload, and that information can be found here: http://minidisc.org/minidisc_faq.html#r_q98 later k

Nice. Stuff like this makes me enjoy being an avid user of the MD format. Have fun with your new player. k

Minidisc recorder recommendation please?
Christopher replied to semifamous's topic in Live Recording
semifamous - Don't be shy to ask if you can directly record from the soundboard. Alot of people are doing this now and alot of music groups are cool with people doing it. Grab a RCA (that is the cable, right?) cable and your set. Recording from the audience is cool, but probably 95% of the bootlegs you've listened to come from the soundboard. Imagine what those bootlegs would sound like if they didn't. Plus, eadg145 raises another good point; ambient noise will kill your recordings. I promise. k
