  1. I've seen MP3 wirtten on the packaging of NetMD walkmen. This simply means that you can convert MP3s to Sony's format for use on a NetMD walkman. However, as you know the rumor is that future Hi-MD units will natively support MP3. You wouldn't happen to remember the model# of that MD walkman would you?
  2. Ya better be offering that here too buddy, I plan on being around a long time and earning it.
  3. With Kurisu's vacation coming up I was thinking about a vacation of my own. I'd like to go to the Oregon coast this summer. It's so nice to see the Paciific and just chill out there. I've visited there a few times and I love it. Where do you like to go?
  4. I'm using Blogger, but I'm open to using better software if it exists.
  5. Hello, to spur some activity in this forum, I will also post links to the hottest internet deals I come across in my travels across this great information superhighway. They will not necessarily be related to Minidisc, but they will be tempting. PLEASE DO NOT POST DEALS THAT YOU FIND IN THIS THREAD! MAKE YER OWN THREAD. THANKS. Cheap TOSlink to mini optical cable - $2.04 plus shipping http://www.provantage.com/buy-7strt0fq-6ft...6-shopping.html
  6. I used to work in technical support answering phones. Sadly, I know that there are quite a few people in that field who just spout out anything they feel like. It's not always good info either.
  7. This is the place for all discussion of American Idol here at the MDCF. Did you watch the show? Are you a fan? Who do you think has the chops to make it to the finals?
  8. We talk about our gear and how to use it correctly, but what do we listen to with our gear? I'll start us out. I've been listening to a custom mix made for me by a guy at the TBoard. 9. A couple thousand at least, and that's just gear. Add in my PC, laptop, and all my music and I could buy a decent car for their value. Oh to be addicted to listening to music. That is my crack pipe.
  10. Thanks for the reccomendation. I'll check it out soon.
  11. Or we're immature enough to let it go. Bland10000 - That avatar is awesome.
  12. Have a good time. I'll try not to go mad with power while you're gone.
  13. All the Unreal games have made it to the Mac, as have the Doom and Quake games. In fact Quake 3 Arena was available for the Mac before the PC version was released.
  14. orb_cz, the decison is really up to you. If you can live with your CD player a little longer than do so, it doesn't hurt to wait. However, if you'd rather jump into something now, you won't lose much if anything at all by buying a Hi-MD unit now. Since MP3 isn't a big deal to you the rumor of it's inclusion in future models shouldn't affect you. Also, the rumor is that 2gb media will be compatible iwth all Hi-MD models. This will be sweet if it's true. Good luck with your decison, Hi-MD has a lot to offer folks.
  15. I rarely rode my dual suspension Bianchi on the road when I had it. It was too cumbersome and I aslo feared it's teft when parked in front of a shop. I sold the bike before making the cross country move from Phoenix to Chicago. My wife and I plan on buying two bikes and a trailer to haul our now 13 month old son around the local forest perserves with us. I think my singletrack excursions will be few and far between for the next several years.
  16. mgdimo, a blog is a web log written by someone and posted to the internet. Think of it as an open journal. In this case, my blog is going to be my thoughts and ideas of minidiscs and retaled subjects. I will most likely repost some reviews and impessions that I've written in the past along with new content.
  17. Please remember that the Mac Mini was not intended as a set top box or HTPC. Apple is marketing this as a simple low powered PC for use as a Web surfing, email, light word processing machine. I think that the Mac Mini would excel in this space. There are many people out there who have low usage needs for a PC. For those who need a more powerful PC to use for other purposes, the Mac Mini simply isn't for you.
  18. Minidisc Mania is my new blog. I originally intended to use the space for something else, but for now I plan on using it to spout my own ideas about MD Take a quick look at the main page if you would. There's not much there yet. Fell free to suggest ideas for rants or reviews if you'd like. I'll be happy to cover issues that people might want to read. http://minidiscmania.blogspot.com/
  19. I like the dancing girls. Seriously though, I orignally came to the MDCF board for help with knowing how to use my MD recorder. After learning a lot about the format I wanted to help others with their newbie questions, so I got a job here.
  20. ^ skmetal, Greg has seemd to calm down a lot recently. I can handle his constant posting, really, am I any better? At least he's not always trying to get into a fight like someone else who posts there too.
  21. hmmm... I spend most of my day at my desk when I'm not travelling, so I spend at least 3-4 hours total checking out the site and reading threads. I answer a couple here and there too.
  22. Aeriyn, have you heard the Supermacro yourself yet? Do you own one? If so, is yours upgraded.
  23. Well, I guess for many, the choice will be MP3 for compatibility with other playback applications and other portable gear. I think that I might fall into that catagory. I don't mind reripping my tunes to my PC one last time. Then there is always a group that will simply look at file size only and use the one that is the smallest per track.
  24. Amen to that. If they'd just gone this route with NetMD we'd all be better off, so would the format.
