  1. majestic the babysitter... what a nickname lol
  2. Well you see the thing is the li-ion battery of the N10 cannot be replaced by you in a proper fashion. you would have to take it to a sony service center and have them replace it. That for me is a hassle. I would rather buy two more Ni-MH gum batteries for my N910 then pay lots of money for li-ion battery. Isnt it so much better? Why pay more when you can pay less? Sensible, no? Cheers BerkY

    copy control

Ok will do majestic thanks! BerkY
  4. There is no MegaBass on the N910 and N10 or even N710... Sony uses a 6-band EQ now and u can try to adjust the bass from there. What setting are good to pump up the bass btw? Is it the first two bands? Cheers BerkY

    copy control

I guess bejanne is talking about the check-in/check-out business most of us hate about. Yes bejanne it is a hassle. thats why I have started using Simple Burner for copying to my MD from the PC. And Kurisu is right about the recording business. You can either do it digitally or analog-illy (is there such a word ). I just added a new word to the english language. Anyways, I record using the analog method since I just cannot buy a deck just for digital recording. However, it might be an option in the future as I plan to get a new computer with an audigy 2 platinum sound card. Should be schweet Cherio BerkY
  6. Hey kurisu dont you have more homework to do hehe j/k mate take it easy cheers BerkY PS: Well the N10 has problems and the N910 doesnt... At least not as much as the N10, so ppl should buy the N910. This is just good advice, dont ya think?

    Sonicstage question

  8. Couldnt have explained better Good work majestic, hehe BerkY

    Which one?!!!

Yea the USB interface on the N910 is simpler and there is no need for the cradle at all. It is on the main unit. Maybe that seems to be why the N910s are working as it should (touch wood 8) ). And since the N910 is a newer unit i reckon ppl should buy the N910. I really like the N10 and wanted an N10 initially but after reading how ppl experience docking problems like that i changed my mind and opted for the N910. Working fine so far... Though last night the minidisc was stuck at a certain part of the song for no apparent reason. I then removed the disk put it back in and played that song again with no problems... The battery was low though maybe that was the problem hehe who knows. Anyway this cant really considered a problem... Cheers BerkY
  11. Yea I second that... The N910 is the best model as it was released later than the N10. It also has a better battery life compared to the N10. so go with it. It should also be a little bit cheaper than the N10. So all is in favour of the N910 at the moment. Cheers BerkY
  12. Aint it a shame... What a waste of money Cheers BerkY
  13. Well as i also pointed out in another post the, that specific problem about the N10 not being detected by the computer has been a re-occuring problem as I have seen many ppl post about it in forums. So yea there you go... And I havent seen any problems regarding the N910. Also the N910 was released later which means it might be that sony engineers have learnt from the N10 erradic behaviour of not being detecting and might have found a solution as it does not occuer with N910. Cheers BerkY
  14. I havent got a clue... Anyone like to elaborate? And yes I was right about the remote. Hehe I got a great memory. Anyway I got that leather puch with my N910 but dont know if it comes with the N510. Myabe it comes with all NetMD's who knows. Can anyone answer that also? Cheers BerkY

    Which one?!!!

I have seen lots of ppl witness this problem with the N10. It seems to be occuring a lot since lots of ppl post about it on other boards also. However, I have not seen any problem regarding the N910. Interesting, no? Cheers BerkY
  16. Well from what i remember it looked like a smaller stick remote with no LCD. It only had a few buttons on it. Pretty standard but it'll get the job done. Cheers BerkY
  17. Well, err, they have exactly the same features but the N910 has a better battery life due to a gumstick 1350mAH battery. Which I reckon is better, cos i dont like recharging every 3 days, if you know what i mean. Oh and it doesnt have a connection problem like the N10 either. It seems more problem-free than the N10. Cheers BerkY

    Sonicstage question

Well i ripped around 25 or so albums already on my hard drive in ATRAC3 format (LP2) and the quality is better than a normal MP3. Normal being here 128kbits... So yes u can but then u would need SonicStage to play it... Cheers BerkY

    Which one?!!!

Yup i'd go for the N910 also as the N10 has numerous problems like the PC not detecting the MD and it has an internal li-ion battery that can be a problem replacing if it dies. The N910 is 30gr heavier but i reckon it looks cooler. Both have the same remote. And as others have mentioned it the N910 kills the N10 in terms of battery life so if you do care about you should pick the N910. that was my choice and i am pretty happy with it. I can listen to my fave music 2-3 hours a day for a week without recharging which is pretty cool if you ask me. Its pointless charging every couple of days or so. It not only wears out the battery but also is a hassle. So vote 1 N910 Cheers BerkY
  20. Yea you can control the main functions but thats all i know... Its a pretty standard remote but then again the N510 is a pretty standard unit. Well you get what youy pay for i guess... Enjoy your N510 then Cheers BerkY
  21. Or you could just purchase an N910...
  22. Yes you can use the remote to control the main unit except recording... The rechargable battery is useful as it tends to use less space and is lighter than conventional alkaline batteries. Thus making the unit lighter and more compact. I, for example, am using the N910 and I am very happy with it. Because it is so small and so light... Howeveri if you dont care about those features you can make do with the N510 which also has a remote w/o the LCD. There is just an LCD screen on the main unit itself. You should be fine with the N510... However if you want to record with a mic, you will have to buy a powered mic as there is no MIC IN on the N510. You would have to use the LINE/OPT IN for that function... Cheers BerkY
  23. Well all there is left to be said now is enjoy your future minidisc... Cheers BerkY
  24. Good luck dude... Cheers BerkY
  25. Havent heard of such a kit... you might be out of luck. Cant you exchange the unit for a NetMD unit like an N510 or N710... Cos that seems to be the only solutiton to me. Cheers BerkY PS: Sorry did not help too much
