  1. Your the man dude!!! It worked. I am in your debt. Thanks a lot mate! Cheers BerkY
  2. Btw there is another person who has the same problem as me... He posted the same problem in the "October" forum as Sımple Burner Black List or something like that. I have also seen the same problem in another forum, Tminidisc I think it was. Just thought you'd like to know... Cheers BerkY
  3. Well thats Sony for you... They should just stick to making little, technologically advanced hardware and contract out the software production some other company... Why make a burning software based on FLASH??? Sheeesh!!!!! Cheers BerkY
  4. Yea you can only copy MP3s above 128bits. Thats who the program works unfortunately. And sonicstage is such a resource hog. Shocking how my system resources from from 86 percent to 46 percent when i start the darn program. absolutely shocking  Well thank god sony isnt a software company It would have rivalled Microsoft in bugs and incompatibility Cheers BerkY
  5. Dont have that in my control panel... I still use the good 'ol windows 98SE instead of Windows XP. I actualy do have the XP Pro but its a multi-boot system and SonicStage doesnt work in multi-boot environments. SO I only installed the simple burner and SonicStage in W98SE... Any solutions guys and gals? Cheers BerkY
  6. I jog every now and then but I havent seen my N910 skip once... I also shook it rigorously side to side and up and down for around 20 seconds as hard as I could and it did not skip at all... although this was in LP2 mode and i think G-protection goes on for around 80 seconds in LP2 mode. In SP and LP4 it is 40 and 160 secs consecutively... Should be fine mate dont worry about it. Cheers BerkY
  7. I would also take a look at the Sharp DR480 if I were you... It has a much higher sound output compared to the Sony and it has that digital amp... It should give better quality sound compared to the G755. Go to the store and check em up close. thats what I always do Cheers BerkY PS: If you want to get a NetMD I highly recommend the Sony N910 or the Sharp DR8...
  8. Thanks mate! Looks like i'll be getting the EX-71's... Cheers BerkY
  9. Well you could get a NetMD but you wouldnt have to use its USB functions to transfer music from the computer. You could just record in high quality SP from your HiFi. Everything these days are NetMD stuff so you do not have much options... A non-NetMD Sony that I can recommend to you is the MZ-G755. It also comes with its own internal rechargable batter so it is small. And it is also pretty light weighing in around 120g. If you really want a Sharp go for the DR-480 which has a 1-bit digital amp... Those are the two best ones but live recording wise ppl say Sharp kicks Sony butt... But i always go for Sony because of its distribution and support... you can find a sony service center just about anywhere in Turkey and Europe... Cheers BerkY
  10. Well to tell you the truth I do not really know what the hell is wrong with Simple Burner... I mean SonicStage just works fine. Its just such a resource hog and slow that I want to use something with a much simple interface, it being the Simple Burner... But after countless installations and updates, the problem is still there. I don'nt know if it has to do with the colour settings but I have changed the background to see if it made any difference and no luck there. I have changed disks and the problem did not go away. For your info, I am using the NetMD driver that came with the N910 package. I have update the SonicStage software from 1.05.06 to 1.05.53 from the European Minidisc Support page at http://www.support-nwwalkman.com/uk/default.asp in case you want to check it out. The Simple Burner I downloaded was from one of the 'sticky' posts on this forum. I think it was a German site... May be that download is corrupt? Is there any other place I can download it from?!?!? Cheers BerkY
  11. Hey people! I have downloaded the Simple Burner application and i have a problem that i couldnt solve as yet. The problem is this: The songs that appear on the right are all highlighted in black... Yes its pitch black and you cannot see what is writing underneath so its not the conventional highlighting we all know... So what is causing this? I have used the update to upgrade it to 1.00.03 or something like this but it hasnt gone away... Can anyone help me? Its just that I hate the check-in, check-out business of SonicStage and simple burner is just, well, simple Cheers BerkY
  12. Dont wanna run on your parade here but you should have bought the N910... More features for only a hundred or so bucks... but if you really had to have a tuner then i guess you are left with no choice. Cheers BerkY
  13. How comfortable are the EX-71s? I mean do they give your ear the similar pain like the stock earphones that come with the N910 or N10... Prolonged use with the stock headphones really hurt my ears. So I use the MDR-Q22s... But they are too big to carry around... EX-71s are small enough to put in your pocket. But the big question is are they COMFORTABLE?!?!?! Someone please enlighten me... thanks! BerkY

    Cannot Transfer

What program are you using to record on the computer??? Cheers BerkY
  15. Ok mate thanks... I think here in europe, it is hard to find all sorts of sony media but i am going to look for it. In Turkey it seems impossible as only official sony stores seem to have them which is totally crap! In australia it is a lot easier though. Anyway I'll see what I can do. Probably going to go for what I can find which seems like the color series and the ES series... Cheers BerkY
  16. Sorry guys didnt see the media forum... However, it doesnt fully answer my question... So should i buy just anything i can get my hands on or just sony, tdk etc... I mean I want to know that difference is between all the Sony medias since they have heaps. Are they all the same? Cheers BerkY PS: I never thought i'd be replying to my own post... LOL
  17. Hi ppl! Ok here is a simple question... I bought the N910, which I am totally satisfied with. I also bought a 5-pack of MDs that came in 5 differnet colours, MD COLOR or whatever it is... I have used them all up so i need a new pack of MDs... What i want to know is what you guys are using and what you think I should be using... I mainly record music from the computer using sonicstage and they are mainly hip hop, r&b or techno style of music. I have seen that sony has lots of media types like the bianca, prism, lumina and heaps others... oh and the color ones that i bought. Which one should i buy? What do you suggest? Which ones are better than others? Which ones have an anti- shock mechanism (i presume all of them do but i had to ask...) Thanks in advance. Cheers BerkY
  18. Darn! Why doesn't Sony produce something like an NH-20WM that has 2000mAH
  19. Well I have started using the NC-6WM batteries (I have 2 of them) on my N910 and they are working great so far (touch wood:)). Although after around 4-5 hours of LP2 playback the battery down to 75%. Which is ok i reckon, cos it is less than half the capacity of the NH-14WM. Does anyone know if there is a higher capacity battery than the NH-14WM out there? I havent seen it so far... Cheers BerkY

    NetMD 2 PC

Hey Rankin! Looks like your a newbie to the minidisc just like me but i have done quite a bit of research so i can answer your question... First of all you cannot copy music from the MD to the PC. At least you cant do it digitally. You can do it in an "analog" fashion. All you have to do is connect your MD (LINE OUT/headphone) to your soundcards LINE IN. then play the songs you want on the MD and use a recorder on the computer to record what the MD is playing. Only that way you can record music from the MD to the PC. Secondly, SonicStage is an easy to use software where you can only "check-out" music or copy music to your MD. YOU CANNOT USE SONICSTAGE TO "CHECK-IN" MUSIC RECORDED FROM OTHER SOURCES. This is used by sony to get ahead of pirating music. I know its lame but there is nothing you can do. Such is life. You can always rip the music file with converter programs to MP3 or WMA if you want. But obviously you will need to audio CD for that... So sonicstage only allows "checked-out" music to be "checked-in" Also about the hissing issue... You can only listen whats on the MD through the headphones even when it is connected to the PC. You cannot listen to it through the computers speakers... again you would have to connect the MD to your soundcards LINE IN. Thats why you might be getting a hissing noise... Because it won play it through your computers speaker unless it is connected to your soundcard. Hope this answeres your questions! Cheers BerkY
  21. Hey there! Well i recently bought a MZ-N910 and I am very very happy with it. I reckon the N910 is the best model there is at the moment because it has high output level and can record for hours due to its external gum stick battery. You can record live concerts in LP2 or LP4 format with the current Sony minidiscs around. I do not recommend the MZ-N10 for you because since it has an internal Li-ON battery its recording life is not as good as the N910. When you buy the N910 you will also need to buy a mic. I have a stereo sony mic that came with my WM-GX822 walkman ages ago and it does the job for me but you might need something better due to the circumstance. Just browse through the sony.co.uk website. As for the MD i said it before i'll say it again, the N910 by far has the best battery life at the moment and will last a while (50 hours in LP4 mode) while recording. The N10 is the lightest and smallest product but the N910 has all the features of the N10 and a much better battery life. And if you dont care about N910 being 30gr heavier go for the N910. Cheers BerkY
  22. Thanks for replies mate! Btw i dont think there would be any problems using my old NC-6WM batteries with my new N910 would there? I mean they are the same voltage only has half the capacity... Oh and one last question: I read in these forums that I can upload music through my soundcards LINE IN with a program from Creative. Which program do I have to use? I own a Soundblaster Live! soundcard and I run win98se. I have updated my Creative Playcenter to version 3... thanks in advance. Cheers BerkY
  23. Ok thanks for the info mate! Btw does this shorten the life of the battery? I mean the NC-6WM battery that I have stops recharging after only 10 mins if the battery has been fully recharged before but the NH-14WM(A) doesnt and continues to be recharged for 1 hour or more even if it is fully recharged... I thought the nickel hydride batteries were better and "smarter" than nickel cadmium batteries... Thanks again for the help matey! Cheers BerkY
  24. Hey people! I bought the MZ-N910 NetMD about a week ago and have started recording, editing and listening to my fave tunes with ease thanks to the SonicStage software and the very cool NetMD unit... However, I do have one question for those of you that might know... It is not really a problem but more of a query. When I charge the battery using the charger provided with the MZ-N910, it usually takes about 3.5 hours for a FULL 100% re-charge which is normal and which is what the manuel says. So no problems there... However, after a full 3.5 hours re-charge when I lift the MD from its cradle and put it back in the cradle again it will start re-charging even though it is full?!?!? This is confusing me as now i am not sure if I am actually getting a full 100% re-charge after the initial 3.5 hours of charging... It re-charges for about 1-1.5 hours after the initial 3.5 hours of full re-charge. Why does it do this? Is it not re-charged fully after 3.5 hours? Is that why the unit can re-charge more after the 3.5 hours of charging?!?!?!? I also have NC-6WM batteries from my old cassette recorder walkman which was really cool in its day , and when I try to re-charge them in its own re-charger after a full re-charge, the recharging stops after 10 mins... So the unit cannot re-charge it anymore because it can see that it is already FULL. This does not seem to happen with the N910 as it can continue to recharge 1-1.5 after a full recharge if i lift it up from the cradle and slot it back in again... So guys, tell me is there a problem with my NiMH-14WM(A) battery? Cheers BerkY PS: Just now the unit started re-charging again on its own?!? And this was after a full re-charge of 3.5 hours PLUS 1.5 hours of extra recharge on top of that FULL recharge... What is happening is beyond me! Some one help me out here cos I am really curious! Thanks again!
