The best is the RH1, you can read the forums about microphones, should be able to find one in NY. Send us a sample when you try it, Good luck, Bob
-
quality is perception, try it and see if you like it, same with LP4, if it's mp3's and you're in a noisy environment, or not listening critically it's all right, Let your ears be your guide, Bob

"Big girls don't cry - Fergie (don't know if i like this one;;she slipping)" Didn't think she was ever up enough to slip, no talent if I ever saw it, being sort of good looking doesn't entitle you to think you can sing. My vent for the day, Bob

At that price it must be made of unobtanium or something!!! LOL Bob

I remember 35 cents a gallon Canadian, could go forever for $5.00 in my Citroen, those were the days, back on topic now I guess Bob

Try looking in the download section to see if there is a service manual Bob

Listeng to another gem of the seventies, At the sound of the bell, by Pavlov's Dog, din't know of Rush the, but listening to this now, wow did David Surkamp ever sound like Geddy Lee. Great disc, and great memories, any one else heard this?? Bob

Theres a lot in the forum for doing straght time recordings, basically you go line out of the 707, and go into line in/micin of your sound card. You will need a third party sound program like audacity or any of Marcs renderers. If you want to eliminate this process afterword get an NH-700,800, or 900, and do your recordings on them, then you can digatally upload your NEW recordings, for the rest it's either real time or RH1, Good luck, Bob

"and carry more than 900 pounds of coffin and dead weight." Really cool, great way to go out in style, I love that line too, what other kind of weight would you put in a casket?? Bob

Interesting article, but for now I'm still entrenched in minidisc, don't trust mini hard drives enought, flash too expensive but dropping, plus I'm old school enough to not mind swapping onece in a while. Bob

Got any more bargains from hardoff, looked at the pictures again, I'd love a shopping spree in that store, a geekoholics paradise. TTFN Bob, BTW do they have any more N1's

Sounds like a neat one, amazing how few people really listen to this "music", really grabs you when you listen Bob
-
Just got a new one, Springtime in Nagasaki by Tangerine Dream, amazing, after close to 40 years making music, still fantastic, highly recommended Bob

Had a similar problem when I moved to the Caymans, gave the freight forwarder specific instructions, and showhed him how to remove the drawers from my tool boxes to make them more manageable. When I got to customs to clear it all I found every drawer emptied into a huge pile, and stuff missing. Agent was fired soon after, never did get compensation for missing stuff or time to put everything together. I feel your pain. Bob

Hi There, Get the 910, as it has a mic input. As for mics and recording, the best answers are in the appropriate sections of the forum. Happy recording, Bob

If you search the threads, you will see a problem with the older MD units where the ribbon cable to the head breaks, some people have used the cable from cheap headphones, and soldered it in place od the regular cable going to the head. Have fun, Bob

Or Sony could get Qualia to make it in the beautiful bronze body, would be solid as well. I too wouldn't mind it being a little bigger if the right improvements were made along the way. If the move is to go the "professional" user, size doesn't matter, they used to use portable Uher reel to reels for recording. Also, the ability to access full menu items on the unit would be a bonus, maybe a small LCD screen as well as the ULED. Bob

The biggest thing to worry about is the recording head wiring, it will go bad, it will randomly erase discs, if you can't do it, have someone repair the wiring before it breaks. After all that enjoy your unit, Bob

A little late in the day, but to any members here who are mothers, and to all our mothers, Happy Mother's Day, we wouldn't be here without you Bob

Anyone come across this one, just recntly got a car deck that is SP only, been putting music to SP so I can play it in the car, when I try to swith the Hi-MD window to Net-MD mode SS sometimes hang, and seems like it won't res[ond. Sometimes a exit and restart works, sometimes not. Will 4.0 or 4.2 work better in this regard? I'm running a 1.5 Ghz. Netvista with 1 GB ram and XP-Pro. Thanx, Bob
-
Sounds like you got a dud, the recording head wiring is bad, it will trash any disc you put inti it. Best to follow A440's advise, get an NH-600 or 700 and have fun. Bob
