  1. Have you tried taling the battery out to reset the unit? Sometimes that works, if not see if there is a Sony repair centre near your location, they may be able to do something. If not, maybe it's time to move up. Good luck, Bob
  2. I realized that, but I don't know if thee are home receivers that will control car changers, Bob
  3. You would probably need a receiver that would be able to control the changer, a car deck with an a/c adapter would probably work. Bob
  4. It is actually slow compared to other sspeeds, probably at about 1/2 time or so. Been using it to record for my car deck, but quality seems ok to these old ears. Bob
  5. That is one absolutely beautiful camera , how did you manage that one?? Bob
  6. The other option is to use the line-out of the mixing board into the line-in of the MD recorder, again recommend you get at least a ist generation Hi-MD (NH 700 or 800), the ease of digiatally uploading will make a world of difference to you. Good luck Bob
  7. To all who have not visited her site, go now, she is incredible, and from Istanbuls, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Make her day and visit her site, she is that good, Bob
  8. Hi Again, Just went to your site, your bio looks amazing, I'm sure we all wish you well, and really reommend Hi-MD, NH 700 or 800 at the least, and RH1 at the best. The 707 is a great unit, but ending it's useful life. Change it before the recording head wiring breaks and trashes everything you've done. Again, good luck, Bob
  9. Don't really know what you are asking, until Hi-MD that's what we all did, if you do, upload us a track so we hear what you sound like. If you really want to live, get a Hi-MD with mic input, or really live, and get an RH1, then you can digitally upload. Good luck Bob
  10. You are a lucky man rayzray, ley us know when you listen to it, should be good, Rush don't often make a bad record. As for me, just finished Wolf city by Amon Duul 11, and now I'm listening to Volk by Laibach, thier takes on 13 national anthems, sounds good so far, Bob

    Busted RH1

If you have a Sony repair depot in Chi town, I would try them first. For me, I am on a very small island, what I did is give my unit to a friend who lives in Indiana, but comes here quite often, I think the Sony place only had it a couple of days. Good luck Bob

My NH1 did the same thing, was an "optical unit" replaced the part free, but charged me $80.00 USD for an out of warranty unit. Send it back. Bob
  13. Praises to willis24, once the money order cleared, the box was mailed, and got to the big island in a week, took 8 days to make it 90 miles, but that wasn't his fault. The car deck and the Sharp 702 were great, and the discs as promised. Recommend dealing with him Bob
  14. absolutely sickening, no redeeming qualities whatsoever, don't see a way out of that one. Bob
  15. There was a repair listed a few years ago using headphone cable from cheap headphones (the thin braided cables_, must be what was used. Bob
  16. Indeed, I didn't want to suggest there are bad products out there, although there may be, but that with a little shopping you can get a good non-ebay item. I have got a few items off ebay, but I have quit when the price approached new item level. TTFN Bob
  17. I Love it, BTW, is there a way on the hardoff site to see pictures of the items, or do you need to know japanese. Maybe I've got to be a Vapour and turn japanese. Take care Bob
  18. That is one of the reasons I don't care for online auctions, people throw caution to the wind, and forget that sometimes an item can be "bought" cheaper. I have really noticed this in the car section, wher some average used cars are selling for as much as a decent new car. Go figure Caveat Emptor, Bob
  19. You can also try Atrac Colloquium ( our sister site} and see if anyone there has a hint, Good luck Bob
  20. The only "recording" you can do on this unit is through the USB cable as it is a downloader. What computer system do you have, and does it recognize the unit. You can only use 60, 74, and 80 minute discs, not the 1 Gigabyte Hi-MD discs. Try to get simpleburner and see if it will transfer a song, or CD. If not try putting a CD inot the computer and see if Sonic Stage recognizes the CD, click on transfer, and see what happens. We are assuming battery is good for this exercize, as well as a good USB cable. Also try another disc. let us know what happens, good luck, Bob You also have the possibility of a bad recording head, does it play any thing? Bob
  21. Just finished lisyening to Depeche Mode 81-85, love the cd-version of photographic TTFN Bob
  22. Sound like fun, any secrets on navigationg the hardoo site, or is there an engrish switch on the page? Thanx and take care, Bob
  23. Hi all, Did this a while ago, and had fun with it. For those who have google earth, what are your co-ordinates, some of us have them by our avatar, gives more of a world feel to the forum, you see where I am, where are you?? Bob
  24. If I send you money can you snag me some of those bargains, I love "toys" of all kinds. Even with shipping across a couiple of ponds, could still be real steals. TTFN Bob
  25. I agree with all and would suggest the best bank for the buck is the NH700, espcially if you can find a good used one, or a Sony store who may have left overs. Any Hi-MD with a mic input would work, minidiscs are cheap, especially for voice recording you can put a lot onto a disc, the discs last forever(or close enough), and with Hi-MD are relatively easily uploaded to your puter. If you have a Mac, the you do have to go RH1, not a bad way to go. JMHO Bob
