  2. nicely recorded minidisc
  3. Thanks a lot for all you guys have done as well and from a tiny dot in the Caribbean Merry Chruistmas and happy tidings to all, Bob
  4. What player do you have? Try disconnecting the player from the puter and see if you can format it trhough your device. Good luck, Bob
  5. I wouldn't skimp and would go for the RH-1, with an extra battery or two, although if you read through the forum there are some external usb chargers available. If you want to go a little less money, het an NH-700 or 800 as they use AA cells. If you are using a mac then RH-1 is your choice, Good luck, Bob
  6. Just give them a little Motorhead for those tender moments!! Bob
  7. I suppose I should add to my previous comment that if you like a diffuse soundfield with no extreme imaging, and no real emphasis on highs and lows, then a Bose speaker set may work for you, but if you want a defined soundstage, then a conventional speaker will work better for you. TTFN Bob
  8. I agree with pretty much all tthat has been said, bose is the ipod of speakers, good advertising, fair but not grat sound, and cost too much for what you get. If you want an all in one, go Onkyo, Kenwood, Sony, etc. If you want speakers, get the best you can afford, good speakers will make mediocre peripherals sound good, bad bad speakers will never sound good. For normal music listening, two good speakers properly placed will give you incredible sound, if you need surround, make your primary speakers the best you can get, and but as good as possible speakers for the reflecting speakers. But don't get bose. Bob
  9. Hi There, AFAIK it shoud do the trick for you, as long as you don't have a MAC. Good luck Bob
  10. I second A440, The RH-1 is your answer. Let us know how you like it, Take care, Bob

    MZ NH-700

The only problem I've had with a first geneation was self induced, other than tht my 2 NH-1's have been faultless. My next will be an RH-1, I'd skip the 2nd gen altogether if I were me, If I were you I'd try for another 700 or 800, or save a bit and go to an RH-1. BTW what happened to the 700, a repair shop may be able to get you going cheaply Take care, Bob
  12. You never know with Cayman Customs, they might think you're trying to set up retail pr something, would love to see the look on their faces. BTW The Snoopy vs Red Baron sounds interesting, liked it the first time around. Take care, bob
  13. Come on down to Little Cayman and you will have free coffee. Take care Bob
  14. I've got about 50 or 60 74/80 minute discs going back a few years, slowly recycling them to Hi-MD as well as 2 1 gigs, (really hard to find in Cayman, and hard to get here) Also a few blanks, as well as about 30 prerecorded discs. I usually take two or three depending what I want to listen to during the day
  15. Good luck on your new adventure, keep us posted, and who knows, maybe we'll see you back in MD land some day, too bad on the RH10, know how you feel Take care, Bob
  16. If it's CD's you want to get to your MD use Simple Burner, works the best, If not just yse SS to transfer the dongs Good luck Bob
  17. Try taking the battery out for a couple of minutes, then reinstalling and see what happens. Good luck Bob
  18. Wonder if that MD owner is a member of the forum Things that make you go HMMMM Bob
  19. just finished listeing to Buzzkunst by ShelleyDevoto, great disc Bob
  20. The absolute best unit is the RH-1, but any Hi-MD model with a mic input will allow you to record and digitally upload. The RH-1 is the only one that will upload other recorded material. Until that happens though, you are stuck to real time uploading from your line-out to puter input Have fun Bob
  21. The download links are in the first letter of this string, Bob
  22. Something else to try is a dummy head if you aren't concerned with stealth recording. Sennheiser made them years ago, as well you can go get a foam head from a hat making shop, or get a store to give you a display head. The advantage of a spare head is that you can place it optimaly and don't have to worry about cable noises etc. Just my $.02 worth, Bob
  23. Do you have any Sony facilities in your area, that would be a start. If not you can mail it to Sony. One thing to try, open the case as if to insert a disc, and try cleaning both heads with a Q-Tip. Good luck, Bob
  24. Enjoy, and welcome. Let us know how much you love it, Take care, Bob
