Hi Donny, A lens filter is just what it says, on a good camera you have the options of putting different "filters" over the lens for special effects, color hilight etc. As for the case, the 707 will work, as well, when I got my NH1 from Australia it came with a Hi-MD case that holds the NH1 plus discs ets, try online maybe some Sony store has one. Good luck, Bob

Just came off a bit of youtube, always bounce around a bit, then I got to Laibach, forgot how good they are (Were?) watched Life is Life, Slovenia, and Across the Universe, all I can say is wow, Slovenia brought tears to my eyes, then Across the Universe, what a version, think I'm going shopping, Bob

That is beautiful, no other words come close. Have fun with it Bob

I would also try Mic, not line in, generally line in is a higher signal than mic, although to be honest I haven't used a battery box, might put level up slightly, but if I were me I would try recording from mic. JMHO Bob

Unfortunately price generally is what the market will bear. I love my NH1's, but for the average user the NH700 is probably your best choice. The RH10's seemed to be an answer to a question nobody asked (don't want to offend any RH 10 owners, OLED does look neat) Go with the NH700, and when you need the upgrade, go to the RH1. Have fun. Truly sad if it comes to pass. Don't these himbos realize that for everything we hear and record, that we buy more. Hopefully level heads prevail. TTFN Bob

Spend a few dollars more and get a unit with a mic input, you will be happier. Bob

Hi TABOY24, a little info goes a long way. What unit do you have, and what does it have outputs? Without an RH1 you cannot do a digital upload. At worst case scenario you would get a 1/8 " male to male adapter and hook one end to your headphone output, and the othe end to your sound card input, set your MD to play, and sound program to record. The forum has all this information. Good luck Bob

You can use any of the Hi-MD recorders with a line in or Mic in, but to upload your older recordings digitally you will need the RH1. Good luck, Bob

You've got mail, TTFN Bob

If you are recording off records/cd's etc PCM may be a waste, try a lower bitrate, quality is still very good, and you can put more on a minidisc. You can save the file as wav then edit as needed. Also make sure you are using the latest version of SS, Good luck, Bob

Hi There, UHER used to make portable R to R recorders years ago, I had a 7" semi-portable ( weighed 30 lbs, but had a handle!!!), was a mini recording studio, could do sound on sound, sound with sound, transfer between tracks, etc, wish I would have kept it, but went to a TEAC which I still have in Canada, but am thinking of getting it down here. Try looking at some of the professional sites like bhphoto.com (I think). Also try garage sales and ebay, got an Akai unit and several tapes for $30.00 several years ago. Have fun with your RH!, Bob

Hi There, For what it would cost to get you mediocre recordings at best, I think your best bet is an NH-800 for budget, or an RH-1 for the best. All things considered, the price of an RH-1 isn't outrageous for what you can do with it. Search the archives here for mic recommendations etc. Good luck, Bob
