I believe so.. it IS cheaper than last years. i would end up paying only like 100 bucks for the upgrade (I'm selling my current model) anywho, my sony guy just got a message from his distributor. He said the releas date for the RH-910S is...... MAY 9TH!?!?!?!?! huh? anywho, i think that the dirtibutor was making a WILD guess, as they are in sony stores in the states in the US right now.

the recording quality of MDs is very very good, paired with a good mic. Basically, if youre not recording from a studio, the bottleneck of quality pretty much is in the mic- up to a certain point. (and im talking in the hundreds of dollars canadian pricetags on mics)
-
yes, teh circle ones are already in stores. im talking the ones that look like a lighter

Just surfin around... found that the new NWE- Series has popped up on the sony.ca site. I am assuming that the NWE and MZ-RH series' are being released at the same time. Anywho, the NWE is slated to arrive on April 25th, 2005. I sure hope that the Hi-MD arrives on or before that date. Anywho, there ya go.

the front says "AtracAD" whats the AD stand for? is this a different codec? an improved version of atrac3plus?
-
the reason for the 1.3 megapixels instead of the great 3+ megapixels.. was due to size limitations. that actually managed to put in 3 megapixels, the the unit was so darn thick. so they trimmed the megapixels to trim the unit size. In this case, it is NOT a gimmick, and completely technology limitations.

mp3 id3 tags: YES. but note that you gotta import them through sonicstage for them to be playable on your hi-md 2nd gen player. Chinese: I do believe so. Can't confirm it yes, as us North Americans dont have our paws on the new gen models yet
-
honestly, keep you files out of atrac3 as much as possible. They will most likely be deleted the next time you reformat anyways. that mp3 conversion tool is pointless, because if you convert your mp3s, you will have 2 files of each song to deal with. too much hassle. Do on-the-fly encoding. Saves space and time in the long run. I encode audio books overnight in ss3.0 and transfer in the morning. much faster.

that green one sure made my head turn... backwards lol thats... so... green!
-
when you make Atrac 3 CDs, they can only be playable on ATRAC 3 cd players. If you want the recordings to be playable on any regular cd player, you have to select "Burn Audio CD", not "Burn ATRAC3 CD".

i hope those are canadian prices... naw.. probably not

you might find it cool with 3.0 that you can SLIDE the display windows to show/hide info on the transfer / library screen. a might needed deature too, i found that limitation annoying last time around.

The Easy Way To Force Non Himd Users To Upgrade
The_Stamp replied to samplehunter's topic in Minidisc
yes.. are you saying thst you can't put the md's back into md mode from hi-md mode? yes you can, but only through sonicstage via a hi-md device. Pop the disc in, open sonicstage, and go "disk/media info" there, select "net md mode" and press ok. That will bring the disk back into net md mode so you can use it on your jolly r30 -
ya.. i happen to have a malaysian friend. Shes smarter than you think
-
i suggest you completely uninstall all Sonicstage components, along with all openMG components (from the add/remove programs menu in control panel). Restart your computer, and reinstall. Delete all libraries too for a completely clean slate. Call me in the morning

i believe so. dont quote me on that though . I didnt really pay attention to the remot part, as i already have my bomb trigger remote (the 11el )
-
aww thanks! they guy knows nothing about it though. i bet he was basing his review off of the packaging lol but it was nice to see the rh910 actually IS being made.. not some fantasy
-
lol thats my review right there under the rh910!
-
so, did you happen to find out any of the wuestions that were asked in any of the minidisc forums not previously answered? just wondering...
-
not really, the rh10 costs just as much as the nh900 (last years model) and the rh910 is in fact cheaper (well, in canadian prices ) that the lowest hi-md model of last year. Sony is going for economy and functionality this time around.

you can always replace that sound file with a silent sound, or any sound file, such as a voice saying "ITS DONE!?!?! OH MY GOD THE MUSIC ACTUALLY TRANSFERED?!?!?! WHAT WERE THE CHANCES??? HOW LONG DID THAT TAKE?!?!" ahem.

i get mine from my local sony store. i have a buddy who works there, so i get a discount, and he gets commission anything i buy he gets commission for.

Velociraptor: what did peel criticize? am i missing something? edit: peel, thx for your response. that answers just about any question i had left in my mind (other than the line outthingy.. although thats not a big deal to me )
-
can i ask you one more question? in some document i read, i read that sonicstage would put the mp3s on the disk as mp3... not as one big file. is this true? If they are seperate mp3s, can you execute them directly from the minidisc from explorer? Im asking this read that mp3s dragged onto your HD will be unplayable.. but they didnt say anything about playing direct from the player's removable disk using ie: winamp. thx for your response
-
are you sure? because minidisc recorders/players have just one plug, but theres a menu option within the MD recorder/player that makes it a lineout instead of a headphone.
