yes, the wav files are unencrypted and have no drm. sorry, i had to post something useful, as that the only reason i came to this thread was because it had my name in the title

naw, its playing right from the mp3. happens to every single one of my songs, whther its pcm, hi sp, LP2, or hi-lp.

Hey there.. it seems that every song i play in SS (ss2, and ss3) seems to always control the volume dynamically.. like as soon as theres bass, it turns down the volume to compensate aka normalizing every sample. this is freaking annoying, as i cannot tell quiet parts from loud parts, and the volume seems like its pulsating. It doesnt matter what volume its at, it always varies around the spot i set it to. turning the bass or treble doesnt work either. P4 2.8 ht 768 ram SB audigy 2 (vanilla) xp sp2 (auto update is on) Help!

This thing should be stickied, so we can comment on each others new avatars. Check out my new one. I put my ™ stamp rim on it, and tossed "STAMPED!" just below the "Sony" name if anyone wants the PSD file i'll toss it up once im home. the psd doc includes the font, shadowing, bevel... and skewing (to make it look like its on the case). so... what do you think of my new avatar? A little more specialized than my last one.. "Simmars" (Which i am the music team leader for

magicgate Memory sticks cannot go any higher than 128 MB due to the way it was designed. So they put a switch at the back, and called it 256 mb so they redisgned it, made it super fast, and called is "pro". which so far supports up to 2 GB. maybe im off on the "duo" part, but im sure about the switch thing.

you most definetly have your figures mixed. my dvd burner burns at 2 megs a second. and thats only 2x. I bet there are faster ones going at about 8 megs a second. hi-md currently, at peak transfer times, goes at no more than 1 meg a second.

lol i am honestly fine with my 11el! i just LOVE the bomb trigger thing! (the stop button) has added effect when carrying big black bag.

thought i might contribute. someone from the netherlands posted this : http://reviews.cnet.com/Sony_MZ_RH10_Hi_MD...471.html?tag=bv doesnt say anything about requiring sonicstage to transfer mp3s. review: Today, Sony introduced its 2005 lineup of MiniDisc (MD) digital audio players, ranging from the playback-only MZ-DN430 ($99.99) to the MZ-DH10P, the first MD player with a built-in digital camera. Among this musical quintet, the most intriguing is the $300 MZ-RH10, a Hi-MD player/recorder that features a five-line OLED display. Upside: In the past, tiny screens and buttons have plagued the otherwise meticulously designed Sony MD players, but we're pleased to report that not only do you get more screen real estate with the RH10, you also get data that pops off the screen, thanks to a bright, monochrome OLED display. The player also functions as a recording device with line and mic inputs. The device uses affordable removable Hi-MD media that lets you store 45 hours of music on a single 1GB disc ($7 each). Its excellent battery life, its small size, and its native MP3 support make the MZ-RH10 a legitimate alternative to hard-drive based players. Downside: The media is cheap, but you're going to have to carry a bunch of MDs when you go on long trips; in contrast, the Apple iPod and others are self-contained devices. MP3 support is wonderful, but you won't get any familiar AAC or WMA support; however, this doesn't matter if you're a big fan of ATRAC3 and the Sony Connect service. Despite the new display, the Sony MZ-RH10 Hi-MD Walkman is still pricey. If you want the bigger screen but can do without the eye-pleasing OLED, check out the MZ-RH910. It's roughly the same player without OLED, and it costs $100 less. Outlook: Sony's MD isn't going away--at least for the time being. Removable media still makes sense for a lot of people, especially those who record performances. With progressive new designs and MP3 support, not to mention economically priced media, the revamped MD family should get a lot of looks in the coming year. i really wish they had a REAL md user test and review that thing ahh well.

mmp64: you should read the entire post, along with links inside it, along with many other posts regarding the topc: you can record mp3. Some links to proof. http://www.sony.net/Products/Hi-MD/capacity.html#3 http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?act=A...type=post&id=78 http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...indpost&p=47022 have a nice day dclarke32: actually, the 1st gen models were planned for release last april lol the whole hold up was due to a hi-md fault, causing them to recall every disk they made . I guess they really wanted to include the discs. Heck, they had to release the models one at a time (600d-May, rest in July) as the discs were being made. Then they FINALLY released the discs ~august.

give us a list of which models have AA batt slots and which have AA attachments. (please:)) figure whats up with the file browsing. what use is it? Can you open up files? (eg: txt files?) Follow up: figure out why the mp3 files are put on seperately(unlike the giant *.hma file) via sonicstage, but you can't take them off the unit (renders them unplayable). Retarded concept if you ask me. Obviously, drag'n'drop onto the player. edit: regarding the followup question.. perhaps they allow you to play the mp3 off the player in explorer.. but not when its on your HDD.... hmmm...

PlanetEarth: they said May will be the release month. edit: I am "The_Stamp" because "Stamp" was used by someone already who never ended up posting here. Couldnt get him decomissioned for my user name
