well i was actually referring to a Home Theater receiver, not a car one. this changer was made for the car.

hard to say, Sony pushed the MD format to the professional recording section...so it's any one's guess what they're doing with the format.

i wonder if u can hook up the digital output to a receiver's optical input?

u can also keep it as a player or just sell it.

that MDSJE480 deck only works with standard discs. no HiMD discs for this deck...

haha...yeah. i'm a DUDE. but i'm sure olivia munn from "attack of the show" on G4techtv would appreciate that comment. normally i wouldn't bother to use those MD cleaners. unless it's absolutely necessary.

why do u need a cleaner, does your car MD player not work? if it's not broken, why mess it up. those cleaners may do more harm than good. if your car deck plays regular MD's, then the lens cleaner should work. i have never needed or used a MD cleaner before.

have u tried another Disc? remember that this deck is an SP only deck. so no MDLP playback. i have the same deck and it does have sound.

order was placed on 6/21/2007? but it's not even June yet. but if it's still in warranty send it into Sony Canada.

well that depends on what bitrate u use to transfer your music to the disc....

maybe a long shot but turn off your anti virus program or anything else u might have running in the background.

the transfer will still be done in real time though.....

that's a beautiful system. i currently have a mini system "SONY DHC-MD555" which is a 5 CD and 5 MD minidisc changer minisystem. I bought this so can record radio programs and listen to them later. this is also an SP stereo/mono system only. Still works to this day and I use it everyday.

i would get this but minus the cassette decks. i have no use for cassette tapes anymore.

yep, u can transfer from SS to a regular MD disk.....and it will encode the MP3's to ATRAC
