can the order of the pictures be adjusted after uploading, or is last one in always going to be first one showing?

I remember your thread about that at t-board. I'm curious to hear how you fare with the Sony hd unit. And keep in mind that a Sharp hi-md may be on the horizon.

I reccomend starting with the 33's. They sound very good as your review search has revealed. Also, you will have peace of mind knowing that you are using 4 pole phones with a 4 pole plug. In time when you want to try out something different, I would recommend the 66 eggos over the 22. The cups on the 66's are on a metal slide rather than the plastic slide of the 22's. While I own the 66's and not the 22's, I have traded 66's for 22's with a friend to let him know the difference and to give me experience with the 22's. For me it was a step backwards and it was easily discernable; still the 22's were better than the stock buds. For my chum, we went to Yodobashi camera the next day and he bought himself the 66's. Also, the 66's are very comfortable to wear for extended hours and I've fallen asleep with mine on before.

The first thing that stands out to me regarding your selection is the difference in style between the 33's and the 22's. The 33's are a canal-phone and the 22's are over your ear cups. What is going to be most comfortable for you?

Hi-md decks in the same size as the JE480 do not exist yet. There is a hi-md mini deck system by Onkyo Onkyo Intec 275 and Onkyo also has a bookshelf bookshelf system Onkyo x-b8 Hopefully this is just the start of non-portable hi-md devices being available.

I frequently see these parts for sale on ebay. You may not find them today but keep checking; within a few weeks you will find someone selling exactly what you need.

1) Install the English language sonicstage. 2) Put Japanese disc in cd drive. 3) Attach 920 to computer via usb cable. You will be prompted to install drivers for the unit. Select your destination choice for seeking drivers from the Japanese ss cd. It will load the drivers for you automatically. Also You can go to first screen of Japanese installation disc and select the prompt to install drivers only. The drivers will be loaded into the English ss version.

to whom/where do we complain?

yes, the remotes for the Sharp units are 4-pole in and 4-pole out. Also, with the Sharp remotes, you can use 3-pole 'phones without any problem.
-
the Kenwoods will accept 4-pole 'phones when plugged directly into the unit. If you use the remote, the signal will be converted for using 3-pole 'phones.

information on the Sharp models you mentioned: (ds77*, ds70, ds55, ds80*) *there isn't a ds77 or ds80 but in the current releases there is a dr77 and dr80 IM-DR80 is a net md recorder/player. You can download music to your player via a usb connection. If you want to make an optical or rca cable recording, your optical cable and rca cable will plug into the cradle of the dr80 rather than into the dr80 itself. IM-DR77 is a recorder but not a net md recorder; you cannot download music to your player via usb connection. It does have a mic in/analog in/optical in terminals on the unit. DS77 (wavy surface) and DS55 (flat surface) are the same internal units just different casings*. They are player only units. * info on internals being the same

I know from experience. Just seeing a picture prompted me to listen to Twisted Sister for the first time in almost two decades... back to thread topic love my family...when excretement hits the fan, they are the only ones you can depend on.

OLED versus LCD doesn't matter to me, unit colour doesn't matter to me, software isn't too important to me because I prefer optical line in, type of remote doesn't matter. What matters to me is the sound quality. If it sounds as good as the Auvi players I've had in the past, and the one I have now...I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Picked up a new Kenwood mdlp unit this week and noticed the remote has the three lines that signify 4-pole connectivity. Using 4-pole phones, I could not get both channels to come through without a 3-to-4 adaptor. Did plug the 4-poles directly into the unit and the poles worked fine. So...the remote is a 4-to-3 convertor though I don't know why. Are their remotes for Kenwood that are not 4-to-3 pole convertors?

Whenever I leave my house, I have my md unit clipped to my belt and phones in/on my ears. I always remember to have my unit but not always my keitai. At home I use it in the late evenings so as not to disturb my neighbors with the speaker setup I have. The comfort of 66 eggos makes it no hassle at all.

No sightings of the 2nd generation units, but space has been cleared in the Sony section of all three retailers; Bic, Ishimaru, and Yodobashi, since last weekend.
