If you are trying to copy the audio from a DVD, it comes flagged as "no copy". Sorry. There are ways around it, I just don't know them.

From what I hear, what makes people drop their jaws is the quality of the screen on the PSP. Some members at the gaming forum I belong to describe it as "an HDTV on the palm of your hand".

Sp for me. With Hi-Sp coming in second. I'm glad someone mentioned this, as I have done some tests using a CD as source, and I cannot find any difference between true SP, and fake SP from SS 3.0 LP2 sounds acceptable too, if just a tiny little bit muffled. Either my phones are not that good, my ears are not that discerning, or the source and the encoding are just too darn good to distinguish. I'm sure it will be more noticeable when using lower-fidelity sources. Still, I will stick to Sp for regular MD, Hi-Sp and PCM for Hi-MD mode. I don't want to know about the other formats.

Heart in motion by Amy Grant. 3 years ago. Ever since, it's been teh interweb and radio for me.

Also make sure it's clean from spyware and similar stuff. Give Ad-Aware and Spybot SD a spin.

It sounds like these are Variable Bitrate MP3. Try converting them into CBR and then import. Also make sure they aren't higher than 320Kbps.

Day 2. I copied some music into Atrac3+ @256 via the input and uploaded it. 2 hours of music uploaded in just 7 minutes! Ran Hi-MD renderer and converted it into high bitrate MP3. OMG. I can't wait to copy music straight from my Dreamcast and upload it as PCM. Sony has gotten their act together with SS 3.0 (Only problem I had was a read error due to a bad disc, but no trashed uploads whatsoever, and no lost tracks either.) and Hi-MD Renderer is more icing on an already-yummy cake. (yeah, I know. I'll shut up now.) w00t!

I doubt it. Sony of Mexico's handling of MD has been even WORSE than here in the US. If I recall correctly, there is still an MZ-1 sitting on a store's display since 1993. You can always get one in a border city on the US side, I think. (Just not Nogales, Az. )

Well, so I win this NHF 800 off ebay for 100 bucks, sans remote. I have been playing with it all the afternoon and part of the night trying all sorts of weird stuff, like copying from CD's, computer, game systems, uploading, downloading, transferring data, you name it. Then I uploaded some tracks... one by one, then in batches of four... (SUSPENSE ) and all went through smoothly! Enter Hi-MD renderer. Now I can do whatever I damn well please with the spanish/english classes my brother had recorded. Download, burn, compress, decompress, edit, split, combine... Woot! What am I trying to say here? Marcnet, your Hi-MD Renderer is pure liquid gold, man. I am grateful, and happy to forward a donation soon. It is because of all I can do with it that I decided to get a Hi-MD unit. Your effort has not gone unnoticed in my household. Thanks.

Could it be that is Apple, and not Sony, the one keeping MacStage from happening? Think about it. Do you think they will benefit from a recorder/uploader machine like Hi-MD competing with their Ipod on their own platform?
-
1- You can upload only once (Use SS 3.0. No trashed tracks so far that I know of). But if you use Marcnet's Hi-MDRenderer utility, you can convert your uploaded OMA file to WAV, and then it's yours to do as you wish. 2-Again, upload once, no uploading to another computer (But you can get your non-DRM tracks as data to another disc and then you can copy them over and over as you see fit). Unlimited checkouts. 3-No. 4-I think so. 5- It's Sony we're talking about, remember? Sorry, no.

1- Hi-SP is Hi-SP. No "cooked" 132kbps files to make them look what they aren't. You can record on Hi-SP using the USB, analog, optical, or Mic inputs, as needed. However, you still get fake SP through Sonic Stage. But who needs that when there's PCM? (woot!) 2- Unfortunately, yes. But the newest flavors of SS aren't as bad as pre-2.3 versions. 3- I think there's a thread about that around the forum, but don't know much about it.

Jet Audio may rock your socks. It plays and converts everything to and from OGG, FLAC, APE, SPEEX, WMA lossless, WAV and some others. I think you need to register to get MP3 conversion, though.
-
In essence, it's like trying to have a CD player read a DVD.
-
If you have Nero, go to http://neroplugins.cd-rw.org/. Then you could do the Image Drive/simple burner trick with both Flac and WMA lossless. That way you simply trash the image when done, and don't clog your system with more and more copied files.

Square peg in a round hole, young padawan. Just won't happen.

6600 GT? Dang. And to think I was happy with my 5500 OC. I feel so... discontinued.

That Sony rested on his laurels and relied on arcane business models and draconian DRM schemes along with proprietary closed codecs, while newcomer (To the DAP market) Apple got it right from the start, and now Sony is paying the price for their arrogance. (See Ken Kutaragi and the PSP's square button for further info if you don't believe me.) A good thing to come from all that is that *FINALLY* Hi-MD plays Mp3. Yummy!

PC and DC Here's the link for the private server forum. (No Warez there that I know of) http://s4.invisionfree.com/PSO_SERVER_HOME/index.php?act=idx PC and DC can play together here. And anyone who hacks other players is subject to serious reprimands from the mods and game masters. The only big deal right now is the cheating, since you see newbs using hacks to equip the most powerful items at level 1, but you can go to the legit server and avoid those. It's actually safer now than when it was on Sega's hands.

*Waiting for the subsequent harassment and trial of the kid by Apple over their copy-whogivesadamn-right and intellectual property, blah blah yadda yadda*

Here's mine. Addicted to PSO, and proud of it.

Zatoichi, the blind samurai. Very nice, minus the digitally-added blood.
