He means the little blue silent alien. I'd like to see the Governator on a MD ad, though. He used one in Last Action Hero.

If you explain what kind of problems you are having, we might be able to trouble shoot it. (And then we'll pass the bill for our time and energy to Sony.)

[Mr. T] I pity the fool who pays 99 cents for a song, when you can get it cheaper and with higher quality somewhere else. [/Mr. T] (Not calling you a fool, just being silly. But seriously, check out allofmp3.com)

Old style Sp (True SP) sounds indistinguishable from the original CD. (At least to me. It's an unique format with a certain degree of "wow" factor. HI-MD plays PCM. Hi-MD now plays Mp3. The players are so darn tiny. MD's are cheap. Hi MD doubles a (slow) data drive. Only 1 HDD-based unit can do that recording and then uploading to your computer thingy. Most Hi-MD units can do this. OLEDs. All your MD are belong to us.

http://www.ubid.com/actn/opn/getpage.asp?A...rchall#bid_here In case anyone is (still) interested in a portable HDD player. The Nitrus is quite a good unit, and the price for 1.5 Gigs of storage can't be beat. 85 if you use the U-Buy It option, of course. I know they are refurbished, but you have the option of getting an extended warranty. Ta.

I can't believe how many people are saying that the new units and SS 3.0 suck, when they haven't even been released yet.

I wonder who that handsome stud in my avatar could be.. Hmm.. I wonder...

In that case, try using Nero if you have it to make a virtual Audio CD with just that track, mount the image, and transfer it using Simple Burner. Should sound just the same. Good luck.

Me neither. Up to this point and unless it's proven otherwise, the service is perfectly legal. And I doubt they'd target the users of the service if it's proven later on that they didn't have the rights to sell this music.

Poor Iraquis. From the tyranny of Saddam, to the tyranny of SonicStage.

Do you have FFDShow filters installed in your system? Those cause random problems like the ones you are describing.
-
Yeah, I just read it. I guess I should download as much as I can. Only paid five dollars for it, though. Heh.

Turn off any firewalls, including Xp's native one.

I asked that very same question a few months ago, and from what they answered, yes, you can upload it. Then use Hi-MDRenderer to convert the resulting OMA file to WAV/Mp3/whatever and from there you can do whatever you wish with it.
-
The only solution I can see is using a non-net MD unit and blanking the disc completely.

I had a problem with 384 Kbps files. They seem to encode them using something called FreeFormat. Had to download LAME and a frontend to convert it to wav and be able to hear it. Oy.

I just found out you have to purchase the mic in order to get the recorder for 200 bucks. Sorry for any confusion. Still, it's a good deal taking into account all you get.

^^^ And meanwhile on a forest far away from here, a tree falls with no one around to hear it.

Of course not. It's just that there are certain things he shouldn't have said. Agreed.

Upon reading that article, I'm sad and speechless. I'm just a foreigner, but I got the feeling that attitude doesn't fit any nation's leader. We all would have a hard time keeping a straight face and supporting say, France or the Netherlands if they suddenly started spreading their vision of freedom. Le humanite, Mon Dieu. Le humanite

No it doesn't. I don't have Net or HiMD. If I plan to use SS later on, I'll just use the Image Drive trick.

Hi guys. While I certainly don't frown on High-bitrate MP3, I was wondering if any of the other compressed formats would you recommend. I basically want to get more fidelity for my money. (I will only be using lossy compressed when lossless are not available) So right now I have the choice of downloading in MP3, Musepack, AAC, Ogg, and WMA. Suggestions? Much thanks.

Besides, I don't care if J-Lo, or whatever she's calling herself now, records her music on a diamond-coated Laserdisc, or a platinum cast MD. I just won't listen to her. I think I'll get to AllofMp3.com and get some Fool's Garden or Amber.

May I suggest to the original poster of this thread to try Marcnet's wonderful Hi-MD renderer? Convert that OMA to wav/mp3/whatever, and free it forever from Sony's taint.
