i went for the nh1 about a year ago because, well, you really dont need that 20 gigs of music on a DAILY basis. sure, you might suddenly have a craving for some particular song sometime or another. the truth is, minidisc is the way to go for niche users who need to record, unlike the usual daily subway commuter

there used to be a thread about this somewheres here, apparently, sony has lowered the quality of the mp3s played on the 2nd gen. hi-md units in an attempt to make atrac seem to be more useful please do correct me if i am wrong, or if this is just outdated

wow, i feel so olden now. i've used the one disc that my nh1 came with for almost a year now, and just bought another g disc about a week ago. its still in the wrapper, and its the jdm version. but that blue one just makes me drool

ditto im not too sure if the 700 has a remote. if it does, than obviously the short corded headphones are provided. but the e808 seems to do pretty okay for stock headphones when i bought my e405 that came with it. but then i bought my e888s. the e888s make the 808s seem so muddy, i havent used them since

sorry, buddy, but sony will never build a unit to end them all.it simply wants to keep you on a leash, like the dh10 with a 1.3 megapixel. sony clearly is capable of at least 3 megapixels in that unit, but held back and stuck with the 1.3

for the premium price of est. $500 USD, the DH10 only does 1.3 megapixels at this point, its just another gimmick that sony is trying to throw at us to convince us to buy their stuff, and the rh10 is a bit on the chunky side... ill wait for the third generation, cuz my nh1 should pull for another year or two

no remote hm... just the remote was a improvement for the nh1, now sony strips all the 2nd hi-md equipment of the 40, a downgrade even for the dh10?
