I am with Telstra, Bigpond here is Sydney. Unfortunatley adrian is 100% correct with his statement. The new medium coming out ADSL2+ which allows for 24mb down and 1mb up if your within 3 km's of the exchange is just coming out here. And some of the smaller telcos are taking it to telstra to raise their game. Lots of ISP's buy their bandwith off telstra, so are restricted by them unfortunatley! But some new telco's are starting to create their own exchanges, anabling these new super fast speeds! Telstra say they'll do this in 2006/2007, but you wouldn't want to hold your breath Oh... in all that anger I forgot to say what I am on! Broadband Cable with Bigpond 10GB cap, but once ova 10GB, my speed gets slowed to 64k, instead of being charged excess fees. Theoretically 10Mb download, and 128kb upload... but I only get the max 1.2megabytes/s off Microsoft sites... normall 400kb/s off everywhere else... and the upload speed... well it is shit

Yeh I think DaikenTana makes a very good point. People want easy, simple ways of listening to music, and honestly if you are computer illiterate, you have probably little hope with Sonic Stage. And it comes down to again the marketing techniques. iPOD advertise people dancing etc with their iPODS, and everyone knows what they look like. Sony advertise every now and then, but I don't think they explain well enough what exactally an MD can do. And then there comes SS, which most people wouldn't be able to use

Mmmm. See the strange thing is, if I go Add Reply, instead of Fast Reply, Add Reply loads in about 10 seconds But Fast Reply takes forever. Maybe we'll have to start going Add Reply from now on Oh my gosh! It just happened again! I replied to another forum through Add Reply, and it loaded the reply in 10 seconds.. Then I come to do this reply! And it took 2 mins to load! The status bar wasn't moving after a LONG time, so I clicked Add Reply again, and then it went off... and I didn't post 2 topics... so it must not have even loaded my reply Here is a screen shot (Wasn't there an option when you replied to load a picture from your computer?) Like a BROWSE Button? I don't have that anymore... strange.. I have the Browse button on other threads, but not this 1... Well here is the screen shot Screen Shot

So far I have downloaded 20 files... got another 120 files queued for the last day of the month! I hope AOL will still be streaming them, or I will have wasted 30 mins of my time entering in all the details for the download manager!

I dunno if you have tweaked the forum or anything Chris, but loading time it takes me to reply to threads using "Fast Reply" has gone from 1 minute to about 5 seconds! So good! Edit: I think I must have jinxed myself... because to post the 1st reply took about 50 seconds The strange thing is, if you go Send again, after you have already said send, it will load in about 5 seconds, and you will have submitted 2 threads... So it is a little strange it takes 60 secs to post a thread, but if you click send a couple fo seconds after initially pressing it, the page will refresh, and you will have 2 posts :| Hope that is all clear to understand!

I was just thinking, you know how PM John Howard walks every morning, and always has some music in his ears... well I was thinking we Aussies should send him an MD for his birthday! Along with some nice headphones and some already loaded discs (he might find it a little hard to transfer songs using SS ) How good would it be, if someone went up to him and goes... what is that thing you are listening too? And he would say, "A Sony MD, really good device!" Just thought about that Hopefully Apple don't decide to give him an iPOD, then MD would be doomed in Australia for sure!

Add as much as you can Chris!!! I love the look of it... I think a logo for sure would make it more noticable that it is a MD forum... I love it.. but haven't changed because of the non existant icons Can I also suggest that on all Skins you put a "Top" button on the line of all Forum Titles, so that if we got all the way to the bottom of the Main List, we can just click the Top button, and go back to the top... just like in threads...
