No Mp3 --> ATRAC conversion/transfer issues at my end with SonicStage 3.4. If you must employ SonicStage for file conversion (Mp3 to ATRAC) and do not need the new additions brought about by version 3.4, stick with version 3.1 till we can discern why it's not working for you (within this thread).

From which Mp3 bit rates were you trying to convert to ATRAC3plus 192kbps?

I will let you be the judge: MZ-E10: 81.9 x 72.2 x 9.9 (width × height × depth)(mm) SJ-MJ97: 70.7 × 77.4 × 10.2 (width × height × depth)(mm) Note: world's smallest in terms of depth. In the MD format, producers aim for the 10mm mark so that they can claim the "world's smallest" unit so to speak for their respective MD unit.

The title for the smallest portable MD (strictly NetMD/MDLP) unit still resides with the MZ-E10.

I believe this is possible if you employ a VAIO system (desktop/notebooks) throughout your household; and via an exclusive VAIO software called VAIO Media. For further info about this software: click here I have a friend that employs such a network and will get him to drop a few comments later.

It appears that your MZ-N1's optical unit has expired. This is a common problem experienced by many MZ-N1 users - the optical unit of this 1st generation NetMD unit is not as durable so to speak as its later units. Nonetheless, you have two options: You could either send it to Sony for repair (a repair fee that could get you a new Hi-MD unit) or acquire a new unit - preferably a Hi-MD unit. *topic moved to "NetMD + MDLP" section

I couldn't agree more - especially if you need to ripped AudioCD directly in ATRAC3plus 352kbps.

In Japan, the CMT-AH10 retails for approx. 36,000 - 38,000 yen (lowest possible price). Because the CMT-AH10 is strictly a Japanese domestic model, you will need to import the unit accordingly (as suggested by mrsoul) via online stores such as MiniDisco.com or AudioCubes. The PSP works with all versions of SonicStage - including the latest version 3.4. (which offers the new ATRAC3plus bit rate: 352kbps)

If I remember correctly, there's no other way. You will need to update your PSP's current firmware (to firmware v2.0) to playback ATRAC tunes on the PSP.
