For those interested, here's a comprehensive introduction on what VAIO Zone is all about: - click here - By the way, the latest Do VAIO is 1.6; I have yet to upgrade my copy but I sure hope that it will enable playback of non-DRM ATRAC3plus tunes. It seems to me that the English version of VAIO Zone will remain at 1.4 for awhile as VAIO Zone has been "sort of-kinda" replaced by MCE in the North American market. Let's hope that Sony Europe will continue to adopt VAIO Zone for most of its VAIO units.

Welcome to MDCF! You will need to apply the registry edit as described in this thread and run SonicStage via Microsoft AppLocale. Note: if you want to have simultaneous Japanese and Traditional Chinese text display on SonicStage, apply the Japanese registry edit.

That's a nice scanner. I had it for awhile (to scan 35mm panoramics taken with my XPAN II) before upgrading to the Canon 9950F.

You do not need to modify the Asia-Pacific Web Installer to run on an English WinXP system. The only thing needs modification is the registry - that is if you want to title your ATRAC tunes in Japanese/Chinese. This applies to the Japanese version of SonicStage 3.4 running on an English WinXP system as well. Of course, run AppLocale along with the registry edit for any version of SonicStage 3.4 if you want to title in Japanese/Chinese.

Yes, of course. You will just need to edit the Japanese SonicStage 3.4's web installer file a little to allow installation to run on an English WinXP. If you are interested, I have the edited SonicStage 3.4 (JE) Web Installer uploaded in this post. Note: if you want to avoid the initialization issue, choose SonicStage 3.4 of Asia-Pacific or JEB (Overseas) version. In addition, run a search within the software forum for further details regarding version variations with regard to hardware initialization.

Yes, if I remember correctly - using HiMd Renderer: save as .wav format; and if you wish, import the .wav file in question back to SonicStage 3.4 and encode it to its initial ATRAC3 or ATRAC3plus format.
