  5. They do charge tax according to one's location in the States. Etronics.com seems the better route to acquire the MDR-SA5000 as they offer free ground shipping within the US (bringing the total to $365.00) and they do ship internationally as well. Nice catch streaml1ne.

  10. Bottom line --> To organize individual tracks of the same album: Ensure that you select "Tracks in the compilation albums" (within track properties) on the tracks in question. In addition, ensure that all the tracks of the same album have identical album title as mentioned in the preceding posts.
  11. Yes, SonicStage 3.3 will work with NetMD devices such as the MZ-N1. But you will not be able to utilize any of the new improvements with the MZ-N1.
  12. I didn't have to initialize the VAIO Pocket; but then my upgrade trail was from SonicStage 3.2 Japanese version. You may want to try installing SonicStage 3.3 JE and then reinstall the English version over. ---> click here for HDD Equipment section.
  13. I'm sorry to hear that you had to initialize the VAIO Pocket. If you do initialize, you will lose tunes residing in the VAIO Pocket. Please refer to this post for initialization instruction. If you have any other queries pertaining to this issue, please create a new thread within "HDD Equipment" section and we will assist you accordingly.

  17. Please read the initial thoroughly. There's distinction between ripping an Audio CD in ATRAC Advanced Lossless format and converting/transferring tunes in the newly ATRAC3plus 352kbps to an existing ATRAC device. As I have mentioned in the preceding posts, I believe because AAL was built with ATRAC3 and ATRAC3plus as a base, it can only encode in bit rates based upon selected ATRAC3 (132kbps) and ATRAC3plus (256kbps, 128kbps and 64kbps). However, AAL cannot be transferred over to an exising ATRAC device if the transfer mode is set as "as is"; it will be converted to ATRAC3plus 256kbps.
  18. Please note: According to Sony, to maintain compatibility with previous devices, that AAL was built with ATRAC3 and ATRAC3plus as a base. Hence, AAL can only encode in bit rates based upon selected ATRAC3 (132kbps) and ATRAC3plus (256kbps, 128kbps and 64kbps). *the above information was derived from SonicStage 3.3's Help archive and its "CD Import" Settings
  19. Please note: to maintain compatibility with previous devices, that AAL was built with ATRAC3 and ATRAC3plus as a base. Hence, AAL can only encode in bit rates based upon selected ATRAC3 (132kbps) and ATRAC3plus (256kbps, 128kbps and 64kbps). According to Sony, AAL truly compress audio signals without any loss of data and is able to compress a CD anywhere from 30% to 80% of its original size without any loss of data.
  20. I believe you can remove the Music Service module by deleting the EMD entry within SonicStage 3.3's registry. --> try and locate [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Corporation\SonicStage\EMD]; then delete it. That should take care of it. If you have any other queries pertaining to this issue, please create a new thread within "Software" section and we will assist you accordingly.
  21. There are no regional restrictions. SonicStage is essentially the same in all regions; the only difference is its Music Service module (Mora = Japan, Connect = US and Connect-Europe = applicable European countries) and obviously for certain countries, the UI language. So, the answer to your query: the new SonicStage 3.3 will support all relevant Sony ATRAC devices.
  22. Approximately USD$400 (a few months ago) including shipping from Buy.com.
  23. I still have the A900, but I don’t use it as much now. In my opinion, you can’t really compare the A900 and the SA5000 as they are both in completely different tier of high-end headphones. The SA5000’s soundstage is superior to the A900 in all regards – especially in terms of clarity and detail. But as a consolation, the A900 works very well without an amp – a great match with certain MD units. Bottom line: SA5000 > A900
