glad to hear you're enjoying MD (again)... some MP3's will fight with SS as they do not have strict 16/44,1 format or their ID3 tags are not completely according to the rules if it really doesn't work, you can always use a freeware program to convert the from MP3 tp WMA-lossless (as this keeps track info and works fine with SS)
-
darn, even Atrain beat me to it a happy one from me as well MDX!!
-
have a look at the minidisc.org equipment browser... that could teach you a lot about MD features... but definitely have a look at HiMD as well, as it can definitely do what you want and much MUCH more
-
indeed a very happy birthday to both kurisu and jadeclaw!!! I was so busy working today I almost missed this! I would have never forgiven myself
-
I use a GP powerbank 1450mAh gumstick so I have the original one for spare... and I always carry two fully loaded 2500mAh NiMH's... and yes I do use the prismatic one and the AA's at the same time and I have not experienced any troubles... still I'm not too careful about it either...
-
the adaptor creates a very annoying buzz/humm when recording so it is really useless... I always use my AA-addon with a 2500mAh NiMH battery when recording... never had any problem and the battery life is ok for me
-
currently listening to: - '65 days of static' live @ AB (the club 'Ancienne Belgique' in Brussels) recorded yesterday at the Domino festival by yours truly and - 'mogwai' live @ AB from yesterday as well great recording again, thanks to my briliant setup (and especially greenmachine's stuff) ... darn I just love HiMD for taping
-
I did try the simple reset (removing all the power sources for about a minute) but it didn't help... perhaps a more thorough reset (through the service menu) would do the trick (Sony did manage to 'repair' my NH900, so they had to do something, why not a reset?)... is there anything like that mentioned in the service manual?
-
but even the RH1 won't let you upload legacy discs that were created by USB-downloading (only legacy recordings)
-
do you mean the RH910? (only HiMD will allow uploading of recordings) check whether the "protection tab" (the physical tab on the disc) is set to 'lock', if so, switch it
-
ah ...sorry, my limited attention span (I've only started the whole MD-stuff with a NH900) didn't make me think beyond HiMD and as the general reaction to the news of the RH1 using Li-Ion was "oh darn, then it won't have an AA-addon" I simply reckoned Li-Ion with an AA-addon was not done...
-
the Li-Ion models do not have an option for an AA-Addon so it would be very hard to mix NiMH AA's and a Li-Ion battery
-
@ fezzfest: it's no sure this eq-limiting will be the case with the RH1, still, once we get the 'hack' to change region code all of that would be history again @ dogville: first...i was only explaining why I probably won't go through the hassl of ordering overseas... not trying to convince you - if you can get an RH1 for cheap overseas and can work something out like marking it as agift or something the taxes can be avoided and it might be interesting still! I do not know of such a place and I can't really be bothered to look real hard - I don't like running around witha preamp either... I just use my panasonic RP-JE50 in-ear phones on trains etc...they really lock out external noise so you just do not need the same volume to hear the music just as well for me personally the warranty is the main reason: my NH900 did need/has had repairs and I wouldn't stand sending it to the US and waiting god knows how long for it to be repaired/returned
-
- only HiMD will work with 1gb discs, the MZ-S1 isn't HiMD so it won't work (only with the standard 60, 74 and 80 minutes discs) - only HiMD allows USB transfer from MD->PC, NetMD's USB-connection is PC->MD only (though you could 'check in' tracks, but they weren't really moved, only erased from MD and the counter in SS/OpenMG gets one added) search around... there are very cheap HiMD's at this moment (NH600=downloader only, NH700, NH800,...) and these will allow you to do what you want (except they won't let you upload your old discs! only newly recorded/downloaded)
-
I'm not that bothered by the Euro-capping: - get more efficient headphones and your music will sound loud enough - wait a bit and the service manual and with it the way to uncap the RH1 will become 'public' - get a portable pre-amp for driving those huge and inefficient HiFi-phones you might want to use and get some efficient ones for light travel but especially I do not think this is that big a drawback so it warrants the drawbacks of importing from the US: - possible duty/import taxes to pay on top of the regular price - you (at the very least) need an adaptor for the AC-plug (and I do not like those things and would not trust one for regular use) as the USB->AC-thing probably can't be found easily separately in Europe (without paying too much) - possibly you'll need a different adaptor altogether (not sure about that) - no local warranty (which might mean you'll have to send it back to the US for repairs)
-
darn that price would have had to be pretty low for me to buy a minidisc (or actually anything) on that little description... not even a model number that is buying blind I hope the thing works
-
I don't think there's actually anyone out here that still uses openMG... I could be wrong though ...but as you are posting this, you do have A connection to the net... so just download the SS3.4 full installer which won't need a connection for the installation (in the downloads section) and take it with you on a USB stick or something
-
welcome to MDCF... just so ppl can try and help you, please read and follow the rules for posting in the software support section (the red/pinkish link on top of the page)
-
as the RH1 will be released in Europe with all the same features as the American one and almost at the same time (IIRC)... why bother with importing from the US? If it's not available locally, just try German or British etailers... they are sure to carry it
-
indeed, it must be... I just saw the other post which states that j-neration is the lucky subject
-
...ok, but who is this A++++ seller? (or am I simply too blind to see a name here?)
-
I have no legacy MD stuff and still I look forward to the enhanced recording features of the RH1... as I skipped 2nd gen I do think it is a real good recorder ...but I really don't think it will ever get HiMD the popularity of the ipod...nothing will
-
welcome to the forums... 1.) update your SS through a fresh install of SS3.4 (see the pinned threads in the software support section) 2.)please read and post according to the rules for software support (as described in the red/pinkish link on top of this page
-
as your minidisc won't show up in the taskbar either (without SS running) it could be the machine... have you tried the reset by removing all power sources? have you tried to back up your library and cleanly reinstall SS? please try these things first
-
the RH1 will upload old SP/LP2/LP4 recordings... but not old downloads (through USB from PC-> NetMD)
