I had those probs, if you still have warranty, definitely send it in...it really could get fixed... they did it with my NH900 so perhaps it'll work with the RH10 as well good luck chaps

could be the Nvidia drivers acting up, just check this thread it has a link for a working Nvidia driver as well... hope it helps...

I'm using Telenet Expressnet = Belgian broadband (cable) and the standard subscription - download speed = 5 Mbps - upload speed = 194 Kbps - max data traffic (/30 days) = 10 gig* - max upstream (within 10 gig from above) = 1,5 gig* *everything between 00.00 and 10.00am counts as half (so if used only between these hours, data traffic = doubled) there are faster subscriptions available, but I notice that speeds are usually limited by cirumstances and also very much by what the other end can provide...so it's more than enough for me

I would definitely not try to upload again, as that could erase the disc! (not sure, but it's not worth the gamble IMHO) instead, record in realtime to your PC (both methods are explained in detail in the second link that marcnet provided): - the totalrecorder way (digital) that will cost you $11.90 or something but gives the best result - analoguely, with audacity (see downloads section) (MD line out -> PC line in) which is free and still ok quality wise for the future, just read this brilliant thread as it explaines the best/safest method of uploading... so just follow the steps and you will (probably) never lose recordings (again) hope this helps,

I don't think 1kyle's actually asking anything I guess he was just packaging his plea for a full featured HiMD deck as a pondering about the potential of HiSP from a deck: first he states a deck makes such a big difference in sound quality (playback), which he underscores by: - as he can hear such a difference between LP2 played on a (HiMD) portable >< deck - and he can't really hear a big difference between LP2 from a deck and HiSP from his HiMD then he starts wondering: if LP2 sounds that great on a deck, then HiSP (much higher kbps) should sound even much better... give us a HiMD deck ...so it's not a bitrate/codec question/discussion... it's (again ) a plea for a HiMD bookshelf deck, only packaged a bit different and 1k, as HiMD could slowly be going pro-user oriented (see the news section) there could be room for a pro-deck perhaps...

the openmgjbox.exe error is quite common, just search the sofware support section... there should be a number of solutions present *edit: or so I thought... can't really seem to find references to it myself right now

I'm not dissing you S. and I do not want to start any discussions or flame wars: I actually think I understand what you are saying and I do agree partly (I guess) ... but don't you think that's a bit odd stating those two right next to each other? but I guess you meant: - all lossy codecs are lossy (hence the name) and won't give full quality, this is not limited to atrac... I'm with you on this one - of all lossy ones, you prefer true SP... well, for me HiSP is more than adequate (I have tried it with ABX for a number of songs and only with one really demanding one I could get close to a significant score... either my ears are somewhat damaged or I stink at listening tests...or perhaps HiSP does actually sound good for most music, it definitely works for me) but actually, all this is really off topic... as most of the (very nice) article is about other types of "lies" (not digital/codec-related stuff) and it's nice to hear some logical views on some hocus-pocus subjects and to see that burning in phones really can make a (albeit small) difference I was really starting to think my ears were ruined! first I failed the ABX HiSP/wav quite often, then I thought I could hear a difference before and after burn-in )... this article saved me a trip to the specialist

Serial Copy Management System ?
The Low Volta replied to digmynewhorseshoes's topic in Live Recording
just read this thread (especially the first post) (don't worry, it's not only for burning gapless CD's) and follow the procedure exactly as described...and you will be uploading, mastering and distributing copies of your own recordings faster than you can say: "Sony really needs to realize that DRM is only really bugging ppl who want to record music and not some teenagers that don't like to pay for overpriced CD's and go and copy stuff from their friends, as these "thieves" do not use (Hi)MD but belong to the iPuddle and actually just download everything anyway so they do not even need to copy from each other... so just give us the rights to our own recordings!... pretty please?" yeah, the procedure takes a bit more time than simple drag-n-drop, but it is foolproof and HiMD sure records in HiQuality! hope this helps, -
sounds like the same thing I'm experiencing...I'm actually quite certain that it's the reloading of the thread that takes quite long and not the posting itself... just try this: -add a reply (not fastreply) -click add reply (on my system/connection it takes about 20 secs to get the thread back with my reply added) -scroll up and press "view new posts" about five secs into the "thinking about it"-process (I mean: if it seems delayed, just press view new posts) -your brand new post should be on top, but with the indicator that you haven't read it yet (this is actually almost the same principle as your test, but without the doubleposting ) strange stuff...

as I said before... go bananas! (ok, the b-day has passed, but no reason not to party I would say )
-
this is correct, but not problematic at all, as the RH910 is powered through the USB cable when connected...so no probs, just go ahead and use it a storage device
-
Finland doesn't use UK-plugs so though the input side (female) is correct, you need the male side to be C/F-type... so more something like this one [attachmentid=437] from this site hope this helps

Dawn Of A New Era - MZ-M100 Mac Compatible Hi-MD
The Low Volta replied to Christopher's topic in News
please read the enclosed links carefully before you comment... as it clearly says: so actually it is exactly the same as the RH10, with the added PCM->mac ability darn, if only I had enough cash to get me one... -
Dawn Of A New Era - MZ-M100 Mac Compatible Hi-MD
The Low Volta replied to Christopher's topic in News
where did you obtain such information if I may ask? -
welcome to the forums dave2986, first thing you could try is a clean (un)install of SS3.1 (as described here) as sometimes bits and pieces of earlier installations (successful or not) can cause problems... if things still act up, report back with a clear description of the problem and all specifications according to the rules...that way it will be much easier for all of us to help you...

the MZR700 isn't a NET-MD (it hasn't got a USB-port) so you would need an additional PC-connector kit at least to use a PC with it you could however use the optical in and synchro copy mode...(I believe) as that would add trackmarks... and if your PC has an optical out, you could use that as a source for this, but it wouldn't allow titling anything or so you can read up on the MZR700 in the minidisc.org equipment browser hope that will clear things up if you are interested in the format, it could be wise to check out the improvements that HiMD has brought with it (just read about it on minidisc.org and here on MDCF)

Dawn Of A New Era - MZ-M100 Mac Compatible Hi-MD
The Low Volta replied to Christopher's topic in News
you mean as in the test-subjects used in the mines to see if it was unsafe (because of gass) and be the first one to try out the M-models or as in the irritating yellow pet-birds that just won't shut up in the first case... I'm afraid I'm a bit low on cash right now as I can't do any student (or real ) jobs as I need to finish my thesis...so I was thinking of waiting till the autumn...then I should have something to spend again and the big Sony announcement about the future of portable music will perhaps even bring a third gen (if we do not count this as a separate gen at least, otherwise 4th gen) in the second case I'm afraid that's just my nature but I didn't mean to "correct" you A., just wanted to be very clear (before thousends of new thread by mac-users begging for the "new wondersoftware" pop up ... just kidding, as it would actually be useful to test it and perhaps give a copy to the programmer-brainiacs reading this stuff) -
Dawn Of A New Era - MZ-M100 Mac Compatible Hi-MD
The Low Volta replied to Christopher's topic in News
there will be... it will be a "mac uploader and wav converter for PCM selfrecordings made with the MZ-M100 or MZ-M10-only" though according to the site... (see my previous post) but this model definitely looks good I hope it will drop a little in price before my NH900 runs out of juice... I'm slowly starting to think about giving my 1st gen some company -
Dawn Of A New Era - MZ-M100 Mac Compatible Hi-MD
The Low Volta replied to Christopher's topic in News
hate to be the bringer of bad news, but in the specifications section it says: so this means that (or at least they say that) the software won't work with NH or RH-type HiMD's... but still, looks like HiMD could be aimed as a decent but cheaper replacament for DAT... which could be promising for the survival of the format -
dex will be missed... even though he might not agree with me at the moment, I think his comments and insights were very useful to a lot of ppl, most certainly including me hope he's well

Using An Amp As A Replacement For 'line Out'?
The Low Volta replied to Petter156's topic in Minidisc
and dex (if I understand it correctly) actually means you probably do not need an external one, as a boombox actually functions as one... if you turn off the equalizer and turn up the volume on the RH10, the output will be sufficient to use with your boombox... the boombox itself can (by turning the volume up) amplify the incoming signal until it's...well, booming so be glad, we're all suggesting the cheapest solution -
Sharp MD Walkman MD-DS70-B Pictorial
The Low Volta replied to Ishiyoshi's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Ishi, not only do you own some (ehm...actually a lot of) beautiful machines... you always succeed in taking some kick'a..ehm...'behind' pics big thumbs up, always a pleasure to view your pictorials! -
hi janno, welcome to MDCF... but I'm afraid it's bad news for you: up until now (that is until someone cracks Sony's codes...which won't be soon I'm afraid) there is no way of recovering data/music from HiMD formatted discs Sony allows only one upload of your own recordings, so trying it a second time results in whiping them off the disc (not very logical I know, but it's Sony)... Your only hope is to find them on your PC (maybe they are hidden or you can recover them with a data recovery tool) but not from the MDisc... Before you upload recordings again, make sure you read this thread and follow the procedure explained in there... it is the safest way, if you follow the procedure exactly, you should never loose recordings again... (BTW: try to post a question like this, which actually is 'software' or 'live recording' related, in the "Software support/FAQ's" or the "live recording" subsections of the forums)
