very well said dex.. lossless is indeed what the name implies.. pcmaniac, the iaudio x5 supports FLAC. and is available at minidisc.com.au further, have you actually listened to a lossless file and compared it to wav file using a blind abx test? cheers

please understand that hte dh10 is a PLAYER and the rh10 is a RECORDER with the rh10, you can use the mic/optical/line in along with usb to record. the dh10 is a player only model with a camera. the build quality seems to be better than the rh10 but it uses a proprietary battery. the rh10 uses the standard gum stick along with the AA attachment. also, please dont be bothered with HD digital amp and Digital amp. on the move, you really must be super man to hear the difference. i have not heard the HD digital amp but surely for portable use, i dont think would make such a big difference. cheers

not really. i use the largest size rubber things. i have very big ears and find the ex71 very comfortable. you may find this funny, but it took me a while to master the correct technique to wear the ex71 also, do you have the small cord verison which is made long by that extender? i have issues with the weight of the joint..

"" greater emphasis on audio quality "" in the portable audio era: I certainly hope so, though am not convinced. Lossy compression has become the defacto standard now. While video technologies are moving towards HDTV, bluray etc etc, audio seems to go the other way. people are getting satisfied with 128k recordings. even online music store sell songs at 128/132 k. coming back on topic, i really like the sony stock buds that came with the rh10. does the job. on the move, i like my ex71. not as loud as the stocks, but provide decent isolation.

Oh ok. Sorry bout that... My mistake cheers

Resale?? You mean you want to sell these high quality cd's that are copied through the Hi MD? Are these your own CD's? If not, I believe this is gross violation of copyrights Cheers

from what i have used, himdrenderer is extremely easy to use. more so than sonic stage.. lots of options. you can convert to flac/ogg/mp3 directly.. convert digital recordings too. its a very good piece of software that is a must for any HI Md user..

i thought support for any SS version lower than 3.2 is over on this forum.. please correct me if i am wrong.

I think this has got to with the battery.. I get Cannot edit when the battery is low.. try using the ac adapter or a fresh battery cheers

Please refrain from using large fonts.. it suggests shouting.. Also, it greatly diminishes my reading experience...

First. What codec were you using? Pcm, HiSP or HiLp Second. Importing in Sonicstage has nothing to do with quality. If you recorded on your hi md in Hi SP, SS will import as Hi SP. No additional encoding takes place. If you recorded in PCM, sonicstage will import in PCM. SS will convert to Wav any analog recording in any bit rate. ie. if you recorded in Hi SP, sonicstage will keep the original Hi Sp recording and convert additionally to a wav file. Thirdly, were you listening to the recording on speakers or headphones on your computer? Binaural recordings sound wierd through speakers from what i read on soundprofessionals website.. from their site: "" If you mostly listen to your recordings with speakers (at home, in the car, with a boom box, etc.), you would get better results if you made stereo recordings instead of binaural recordings. Binaural recordings sound best when listened to through headphones. "" cheers
