  1. According to Technical Journal 22 Sharp is developing technology for MD units. Check the Japanese version (Some English is included). or translate it with web translators if you wish. http://www.sharp.co.jp/corporate/rd/25/25-3-9a.html Hope this is good news for some of you
  2. DEFINITELY HI MD!!! Linear PCM justifies it all. If you are a person with a good musical ear, you will notice that the compression used by Ipods really sucks. Sound is not complete and they reinforce treble and lose bass. It's a pity but Ipods don't sound well- Their playback lacks of the wholeness of pure sound. Hi-Sp mode of Hi_Md's is definitely superior to ipod and itunes. If you have the oportunity to compare them you'll see.
  3. That would be a very good feature... real fast forward... I am still waiting for 2GB blanks... they would be VERY useful!!!
  4. ZerodB. You don't get the point... Imagine you have an extensive library of your favourite music in your 1gB disc and suddenly all the info in your computer gets lost... or you buy a new PC or you just want to get that music and make a compilation to record a cd in another computer... What can you do? Only real-time upload would be the solution. WinNmd is excellent for uploading (in real time) because it automatically uploads the tracks with all the info (names, tags, etc) and you can set the application to automatically convert the audio files into mp3. It also allows you to leave the program running in the background while you surf or work in something else and listen to the music you upload. No need to manually split tracks or set volumes. Winmd does it all. Great aint it?
  5. That's a real pity!!! I looked at my logs and the information is there. It's a pity that nothing formal is announced. I still hope 2GB blanks will appear.
  6. I don't really know, but here is the link to download the application. You'll have to download it and see what happens. http://www3.justsystem.co.jp/download/beatjam Click on the buffalo link...good luck
  7. I MADE THE TRANSLATION TO SPANISH OF KLUKA'S WINMD SO I KNOW THE APPLICATION VERY WELL. I AM SORRY TO INFORM YOU THAT THERE IS NO WAY YET TO UPLOAD TRACKS IN HI MD MODE USING WINMD. CRISTIAN KLUKAS TOLD ME THAT HE WAS GOING TO WORK OUT A WAY TO DO THIS. HOWEVER, YOU CAN USE ANY AUDIO CAPTURING SOFTWARE LIKE NERO SOUNDTRACKS AND THEN SPLIT THE TRACKS MANUALLY USING ANY WAVE EDITOR (LIKE NERO WAVE EDITOR)...
  8. HEY, YESTERDAY I CHATTED WITH A REPRESENTATIVE OF MINIDISC AUSTRALIA (YOU CAN ADD THEM TO YOUR ICQ LIST) AND HE TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE ARRIVAL OF 2 GB BLANK DISKS. HAVE YOU HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT IT?
  9. I LOATHE THEM... VERY FUSSY, THEY ADD TO THE CLUTTER IN MY BEDROOM. NEITHER DO I KNOW WHY THEY DID THEM LIKE THAT. MAYBE THEY JUST WANTED TO MAKE THEM SIMILAR TO ZIP DISKS... STUPID!!! HEY, BY THE WAY, I CHATTED WITH A REPRESENTATIVE OF MINIDISC AUSTRALIA (YOU CAN ADD IT TO YOUR ICQ LIST) AND HE TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE ARRIVAL OF 2 GB BLANK DISKS. HAVE YOU HEARD OF THAT?
  10. Sony has launched in Japan a new audio system to compete with Onkyo's Hi-MD System. Check the translated version in http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...Flanguage_tools I also include a picture
  11. You can download the BeatJam for Buffalo. Though it works in Japanese, it can be used for transferring music files in Mac OS.. I hope you can use it.
  12. Sony advertises in it's connect webpage the MP3 conversion tool to import mp3 files to Sonicstage 3.1. The problem is that you install it and it asks you for version 2.1 or higher...¿How can you tell them that the program is just not working? it is really a shame that they offer a useless thing to download from their website...
  13. There are some softwares that makes it very esay to save your mds in your PC I personally bought Christian Klukas WinNmd and it worked like magic I uploaded all my old MD's before moving to HI MD You can download it from the following link http://winnmd.net/ You will love it
  14. Hey, I found an easier way to import folders to SonicStage 3.1. BEFORE scanning folders or importing tracks, you should highlight all the tracks that you will import and right click on them. Then choose "properties" in the context menu. A dialog window will appear. Click on the "summary" tag and then Specify an name of ALBUM and ARTIST (even if is is just a number). Then import the tracks. It works like a miracle and all the tracks will be imported to the albums you want. Hope this is of some help
  15. Yes, I agree with you. Sonicstage is the worst software to work woth your files. I am downloading the GODFATHER and it looks excellent. It is so simple to use. I hate using SonicStage. I understand that Buffalo Japan has started to produce HiMd units and the software it is going to use is BEATJAM for buffalo. Does anyone know if it is going to be compatible with Sony units? Thanks
  16. I have upgraded to Sonicstage 3.1. The problem is that I have a lot of folders with mp3 music. with the older versions of SonicStage I could import folders or import tracks to specific albums that I could then transfer to my Hi Md. Now SonicStage has the "scan folder" function that imports all files to random albums that cannot be moved. Besides, the mp3 conversion tool does not work with Sonicstage 3.1. I tried to import assorted tracks from different folders and Sonicstage produced 10 different albums. WHAT A LOT OF CRAP!!! Can anyone tell me where can I get Sonicstage 2.3? it was the best version sony has had so far. I NEED HELP. I AM ALWAYS IMPORTING TRACKS TO MY HI MD. Help me!! {mod Edit}In the future don't try and use huge fonts to get your point across{/mod Edit}
