  1. I wrote a little review about the VGP-BRM1D. Find it here: http://ptless.org/vgp-brm1d.html Beware, it's German! I'm selling it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-VGP-BRM1D-B-Bluet...1QQcmdZViewItem
  2. OK, but it's the play button - it works as a pause button, too. And unpausing recording works with it fine.
  3. What would interest me is the possibility to use this solely as a remote for a MD portable which is connected to a "stereo system" ... So that I have the MD unit standing next to the cradle/receiver of the remote connected to speakers while I'm sitting in the other end of the room and pressing play/stop all happy. This thing doen't look as if it was possible. It seems you can only connect the cradle of remote to the MD unit and receive audio signals with the remote itself which then gives the signal to headphones or something. The question in other words: Is there a line-out on the cradle? Or am I mistaken?
  4. the one under the play button ... what else could it be?
  5. There is a pause button ... or not?!
  6. I just browsed through AudioCubes and found a new deck released this year. The MDS-JE580. Has anyone information about it? Is it just a revamped JE480?
  7. Erm, where do you get the EH1 for $180? Now THAT'S a deal! Go and get it! It's the best player I know.
  8. Ever heard of Hi-MD video? http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/atta...CC-04-193A1.pdf
  9. Maybe THEY are listening and someday a news entry on minidisc.org says: "Sony provides support of OGG, FLAC, MPC and others." Maybe it was a bad idea to "free" old MDs, now everyone wants more!
  10. mdfreak, can you give some details about SP downloading (to PC)? Do you have to make the disc unprotected? And if yes, will SS add info to the disc when downloaded or even erase it? -> will it be possible to download a MD more than once? thanks!
  11. I'm a fan of the OGG vorbis format and a native support by Hi-MD is my dream too, but to get OGGs into SonicStage you have to convert them back to WAV by OGGdropXPd for example and then convert them to Atrac or let them be WAVs. It's an easy thing to do I think. They should have made it OGG compatible in the first place. Anyway the RH1 is on my wishlist, damn you Sony vampires
  12. It think it will be possible to upload Prerecorded MDs as you even can copy them (optical) to recordable MDs, so in terms of SCMS it will be possible, but that is not the criteria for uploading with SS I guess.
  13. No the silver one got hurt plenty but still works.
  14. Great things for future SSs would be (for me) ... - real SP mode uploading (as mentioned) - Atrac3plus VBR! - download from Std.-MD to computer
  15. Wow, I never knew that there's something like Hi-MD Video and something bad too: You cannot record standard MDs with the 2nd generation Hi-MD models?! Shit!
  16. oh allright! thanks. seems, this information went over me somehow!
  17. Yeah but I thought it was not possible to upload PCM - only to record in PCM!?
  18. Hello community! I'm more the SP guy but I wanted to test out the higher bitrate that comes with SonicStage 3.3 I heard about in this forum - although it has no meaning for me because I record from deck to deck and do not upload. Anyway, I set the Hi-MD transfer settings to "as is" and chose 352kbps in case "as is" is not possible (under "Advanced"). So I expected SonicStage to upload it (a WAV file I made 48khz/PCM) with 352kbps but as I played it back, the recorder (NH900) said "PCM" on its display! Has anyone noticed this yet? I use Hi-MD for own recordings (MIC/other sources) to be transferred to the computer only and use SS mainly for titling SP-MDs but I see a positive evolution in every version of SonicStage.
