  1. Here it is: DMD-F102 Looks like one of the newer Denon decks, anyone knows when it was introduced? regards, Hannes
  2. still waiting for a reply regarding the grey case. thx!
  3. k, but my fivepack maxells only delivered one usable MD. I'll stick with Sony Hi-MD and TDK MD if possible.
  4. Then of course if you buy some cheap maxells with plastic shutter... ^^
  5. aw man, it's gone! :,( what a nice opportunity! congrats!
  6. Sounds broken, if the unit can't read the MD.
  7. Not if they're working - there are also good maxell blanks but if they have a plastic shutter you should be careful. had a five-pack of them and every single of them was faulty, and they were new. I just wasn't able to complete a recording and it was a vinyl recording!!!! :-!
  8. SP is the best quality you can get with legacy MD. on an 80 minute disc will fit 80 minutes. less quality = more space. The best quality you will get with "live" recording from CD if you want to record in SP mode. In LP mode there should be no difference. Best brand: TDK worst in my experience: maxell
  9. I give you my Sony MDS-JE780 for 160 euros plus shipping. I'll ship it from Germany, sales in Germany and Euro countries preferred. Payment: wire transfer, IBAN/BIC, PayPal (depends on buyer's country) pics ... questions? ask! ^^ full german description here: Sony MDS-JE780 zu verkaufen
  10. yeah, onkyo made two fine machines. they're not 43cm big but still decks. My Onkyo MD-133 arrived today (shopped with bluetin). A beauty. (Disadvantage (?): no optical out)
  11. Free Lossless Audio Codec The best there is - I always use it ... (before recording to Hi-MD ^^) ... I think it's still faster to type in track info by hand ... for me at least.
  12. nope sorry, but you can always transfer it to the computer, divide it by audacity or whatever and transfer it back. :|
  13. Yeah, but "they said it needs to be MDLP"! Of course you can always download an LP2 as SP to the MD machine (if I remember correctly) but the quality will be LP2 or worse. real-time recording was not an option of the OP, right? rgrds
  14. Wow, thanks! Didn't know that these exist. Will read that thread with joy Thanks again!!!!
  15. Hi! I'm currently downloading v. 4.3 of SS while looking forward to the Onkyo MD-133 (and trying to avoid the title bug). There once was an instruction of how to do an offline/standalone installer out of all the cabinet files and so on. Can someone redirect me? Forum search won't help. Thanks in advance. Hannes
  16. I actually think that Sony won't offer any Hi-MD deck as well as other Hi-MD units after the RH1. I finally made the decision and bought the high-quality Onkyo MD-133 from bluetin.com. (When was the last time I used MD optical out to MD? Once in a lifetime! ^^) rgrds, HaL
  17. Got me a Sharp MD-MT180H when I returned a cheapish digital camera. That was 2002. Before, I only had cassette walkmen by AIWA or Panasonic. Fell in love with it ^^ Gave it away to my brother. 2004 I got the NH900 - still the best 1st gen Hi-MD recorder I think. sold Then I got the E10 player which had terrible sound ... sold that MDS-JE780 Then the EH1 (black) --- my favourite unit to date Then of course the MZ-RH1 rgrds
  18. I'm still looking for the one I saw in cinemas once (Germany) where there is one MD (hand-painted) that goes around the world and through different hands back to its original owner ... was some kind of love mixtape. One quote I remember is "I made this one for you" (said by someone driving a car to his new love or something - he did not make this MD, of course ^^) Would love to see that again!!! Then there's one I'm not sure of whether it contains MDs but it was about Sony Network walkmen. A young man - near-dead - treated with different sorts of music, transferred from a computer. At the end the song "Tied to the Mast" by Lo Fidelity Allstars is played. (Or maybe it was 2 commercials?) Saw that at a cinema, too ... several times. rgrds, HaL.
  19. Hi wizard. I saw your signature. I'm a rather environment-friendly person too. (bicycle rider, greenpeace supporter, bio for food etc.). Do you think MiniDisc is environment-friendly compared to other recording and mobile audio technologies? Regards, hannes
  20. The RH1 does not show track titles, that is really the only thing that I don't like about it. But still it's the best portable Hi-MD recorder. And the RH10 does have a bad digital amp! Ever heard the E10? The sound sucks!
  21. Frohes neues Jahr! german for happy new year Fröhliche Weihnachten! (Merry christmas) An alle to all
