I checked my local Radio shack and I checked their website and it looks like they have some in stock. I will be there tomorrow morning first thing. vovobiscuit
Hi there, fellow Hi-MD folks! This is my first post here and may be of particular interest to Australian readers. I am shortly to become the owner of a MZ-NH700. I ordered one online for AU$310 from a computer supplies shop in Byron Bay: www.e-shop.com.auWhile I was at it, I checked the price of their blank media and saw they will have them available at AU$3.82 (incl. GST) from 29th September. (No, that's not a typo!) SONY | HMD1G | HI MD 1GB DISC | australia For non-Australian buyers, you can place an international order but not online, according to their stated shipping policy:Shipping within AustraliaFor orders shipped to Australian addresses we charge a flat Rate of $15 including GST regardless of the size of the package.Note that our couriers will require a signature. We are unable to ship to PO boxes. We do not currently offer a pickup service.International ShippingWe do not accept online orders from outside Australia. Please call or email if you would like to order goods for shipping internationally. We will provide pricing on an individual basis.Remember too that non-Australian buyers can deduct 11% from the stated price for GST, which is only applicable in Australia. This dealer has been very friendly and helpful with my order and enquiries, replying promptly to my emails.I hope some of you find this post useful!Cheersvovobiscuit Edited September 23, 2005 by vovobiscuit

zxon
What about (new) transparent blue HiMD discs - are they available anywhere?I just received five of them from ebay. They worked out at about £4 each which isn't bad for 1Gb of storage. The seller I believe was from australia and delivery took exactly a week. I'm at work at the moment so I can't check up on ebay to find out the seller's name, but I'll post back here later with the seller's name if anyone's interested. sebastianbf
I've got an email the other day with an offer to buy HIMD 1GB disc. Take a look:To get the sale price of $5.89 per disc when you place your order, just stick the code "Hi-MD" into the “Special Handling Instructions” box on the "Checkout: Review Your Order" page. When we process your transaction, we'll deduct $1.00 from each new Hi-MD disc that you purchase. But, DON’T FORGET! You’ve GOTTA type in "Hi-MD" to get the $1.00 per disc savings. here's ther link:HIMD offer linkHope you all like it

tommypeters
Prices on blanks are lowest in Australia, even if a seller who ships international adds an extra AUD/disc it's still cheaper to send them all around the world if they only charge nominal shipping costs (which they did when I bought). The new 1GB discs stores three times more than a regular disc (reformatted in a Hi-MD unit) and 6 times more than you can get in a NetMD unit. That makes it tempting to set a price that directly reflect this larger storage capacity, even though the added cost for manufacturing isn't that high at all. Teralus
Ok so if HiMD Disks are so cheap in Australia can anyone tell me where I will be able to buy some HiMD disks in Brisbane? I am going there in a few days!

I would post a few photos but it looks like Ishiyoshi's already done it Oh, for the record, the ebay seller was called minidisc_au (original, I know). There aren't any MDs being sold by this member at the moment but keep an eye out.

Ginger T
I've ordered 2 batches of 5 from this seller ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 ) on ebay. Excellent service around 7days from Austrailia. Cost approx £18 inc shipping. He has auctions (when in stock) on both ebay UK and US, i tend to order from the US auction at the moment as the exchange rate works out slighty better. genghisbunny
Ok so if HiMD Disks are so cheap in Australia can anyone tell me where I will be able to buy some HiMD disks in Brisbane? I am going there in a few days!Probably any JB Hi-Fi. They have them all over Australia and any local can tell you where the nearest one is. They're kind of like the old "nobody beats the Wiz" shops in the US, but less fancy on the showrooms, lots of stock just sitting on top of boxes, cheap CDs and they stock Hi-MDs. Price is 4.75aud but there's no bulk discount for buying 10 or 20.Good luck with the grey importing
Snuffy
I saw five blank MDs set (not HI-MD) at Target. It was something like $6 for five MDs. It's so cheap now because nobody wants to buy. Edited September 27, 2005 by Snuffy
