mercury_in_flames
I was tempted to go for the epson snanner that has an auto loading neg scanner that 'eats' up the negs instead of you having to place them on a template. The downside is that the one that i used chopped a little off the original negative.

mercury_in_flames
Vell after deliberating whether I needed this or not, i couldn't resist, I got myself this puppylogitech desktop wireless keyboard S510. I use a laptop but the weight of the battery and the overall thing getting hot on my lap annoys me. So I am getting this to have the laptop on my bedside table and to sit on my bed with the wireless keyboard. I cant wait Also got a 4.5 metre high speed USB cable to connect my laptop to my external hard disk when im chilling out

streaml1ne
I played about 5 minutes of Untold Legends and haven't even touched Metal Gear Acid yet. This is very much a portable video, photo, reader, multifunction thinga-ma-jig for me, games are pretty much secondary. I might have to buy GTA just so I can use homebrew apps which is kind of silly, though I'll have some fun playing that . Sony should just open the damn thing up, there's so much functionality here it's a shame they're trying to stunt its growth.

I am using Ext. In 5+1. Probably next month when I'll gather more resources I will go for a 3910. Even 2910 doesnt have a DLink. Still 1920 is a fairly good player. They make really great sounding equipment.I have used many Denon's in the past. CD players: 3560, 2560, 3000, and amplifiers PM1560, and monoblock power amplifiers. Then I had switched to Marantz. I still keep my old Ken Ishiwata signed CD player. Then with Home Theatrer I used Yamaha and I didnt like its musicality. Apart being a good HT amplifier Denon 3806 souds awesome while playing SACD's and CD's. I hope you get one soon.

mercury_in_flames
Well my sister and I watch dvd's alot, and they get get battered quite a bit, im in the process of backing up all my dvd's. sort of like how some people backup their cd;s to md to save their originals?I hope you weren't insinuating anything..to get an idea of how quick us normal people go through dvd;s go here: http://club.cdfreaks.com/
rayzray
i burn to DVD's at about 70 and CD'R's about 30 % now;; i have a dual layer DVD burner in my PC#2; but the copywrite scheme is frustrating; so i do the "Realtime" transfers which suite me fine.question is; where do you write/print on a dual layer; how do you know which one is which; or, are the layers on the same side?lately my dvd burner only burns the (1-x8) ones (minuses) and not the (1-!6X) (minuses) onesso today i bought 100 more sony DVD-R's (1-8x) (in 50 spindles).why is that? Edited March 14, 2006 by rayzray
mercury_in_flames
it probably only burns at 8x because the computer isnt powerful enough to send the data to the drive fast enough. The fastest I have managed ti burn a regular dvd at is 12x. To burn at 16x you would need a VERY good hard disk, good processor, and at least a gig of ram i woudve thought. I've given up on trying to write at 16x.Despite the name being 'dual layer' in normal peoples terms, there arent two 'sides' to the disc, the laser just focuses one way for the first coating of the disc and another way for the second half to write the data. rayzray
thanks Greg fror the quick reply and the the answeres that i understand.me guru students have WARNED me that my PC's are prehistoric; and the NEW Microsoft generation that will superceed "XP" will make ALL of the "Now" programs useless.it's gonna be a tradeoff for better security for the need for us to BUY all new bling bling programs.i am saving up my "Pennies" for to buy my last super PC; this time it will be the identical ones to my students'; and i will ride out the wave of deathness with them; burning and pirating anything i can bling on.of course that also means spending my total retirement money on semi-bling blings including a cup of Starbucks coffee if you ever roam this area (RI-USA). The Low Volta
Haven't really bought this...it was a birthday present from my girlfriend...but I'm happy about it so I thought I'd just show it off overhere anyway Tivoli Audio⎟SongBook (in red)[attachmentid=1543]this is a great weather resistant rubber coated FM/AM radio/alarm clock with aux-in and amazingly good audio-quality seeing it has only one small speaker!oh and I love the cartoonesque look (it looks like it fell out off a Simpsons' episode)! Just say Yes to fun and a BIG NO to boring white speakers (take that you iPuddle... just kidding... this also sells in white and there's even a bag for it with extra room for an iPod )it really is great as it runs (really long!!) on six AA's (or the ac-adaptor) and it can even charge those batteries when plugged in. It has great FM-reception even in Brussels where there are way too much radiostations on limited frequency... and as it is this light and small (about 15-20-5cm H-W-D) and splash resistant it is a perfect companion for those wonderful nights/afternoons outside with a bunch of friends and good music!! (coming from my NH900 plugged in the side)I will be traveling a lot in the near future... but you can bet that this baby and my NH900 will be folowing me around all the time!darn ain't I just too lucky with such a girlriend?
