Mine is here to find ( Warning to 56k )

Nothing out of the ordinary, Just KDE with a Aqua-style skin.

Oh, and if you wondering, where SonicStage is, this is a Linux Desktop.

Showing the Windows side is rather superfluous, as that is still the default skin, just as it is directly after install.

Yes, WindowsXP has been officially degraded down to be a runtime module for SonicStage to run on.

...and a related question, are there Dreamcast servers still up for games like PSO and Q3A? I'd start scavenging for a BBA if this were so.

Last I heard, there are private servers for DC and PC versions of PSO (Ver 1 and 2), but I'm not sure about other DC on-line games. I'm sure you know, considering how porous the PSO is, that you'll need extra protection if you don't want your well crafted Lvl 100+ HUnewearl getting trashed by some jerk with a Action Replay.

At anyrate, I'm boring when it comes to desktop, and currently using one of the prepack wallpapers that came with XP. :-p

It's the reddish looking one if you're curious.

And if you're wondering about my PSO, I'm on XBOX

what platform are you playing it on?

PC and DC

Here's the link for the private server forum. (No Warez there that I know of)

PC and DC can play together here. And anyone who hacks other players is subject to serious reprimands from the mods and game masters. The only big deal right now is the cheating, since you see newbs using hacks to equip the most powerful items at level 1, but you can go to the legit server and avoid those. It's actually safer now than when it was on Sega's hands.

I think it is pretty cool how you can tweak XP to look like MacOSX, although I've never been able to justify running a skinning program. As I think that Windows has enough troubles simply running, Without running a bunch of programs to make it look nice to co-exist with it. Although, to be fair, the last PC I spent some extensive time on was a win 98 machine. The XP machines at school are pretty good, considering that they are maintatined extremely well.

Objectdock [with sysstat and a few other plugins]..which is alright, probably should've checked out the alternatives but wasn't really concerned, just got inspired by Ishii's presentation and followed suit. wink.gif I like this dock stuff - to the point where I turned off the taskbar, and I've always liked such since I started playing with the Mac at work long ago, but could never consistantly use the O/S as the aforementioned machine has 256mb's of RAM, which is below the unspoken 512mb requirement that OS X needs..

This 64-bit stuff is nice, real solid even in beta as it's based off Windows Server 2003. I know jadeclaw may pop in at any time and ridcule these words, or simply roll his eyes at them but I've had little problems so far and great preformance, even in demanding 3d applications. I was actually enjoying this 6600GT all weekend, in case anyone was wondering where I went off to. biggrin.gif

I still need to do some inf file tweaking, and possibly enlist some help from forum users, though..as Windows XP 64-bit requires 64-bit drivers, and there are none for Hi-MD. sad.gif

Good question. There are a few 64-bit applications out there, but not as much as there will be in the next six months. I have no doubts that 64-bit Windows will be out in a month or so from now, as they're already at release canidate 2 stage. The cool thing is that any app, 32/64-bit, can run simultanously. It's obvious that 64-bit applications can now have the freedom to be more memory intensive, even if they are smaller in design. This is not a matter with DDR400/PC3200 DDR with native 2-2-2-5 timings, however, and it's almost impossible for me to bog the system down. Maybe it's the 16mb cache sata drive.

As for what apps I have, it's few right now. A few things from sysinternals.com, 64-bit Internet Explorer, some demos and that's really it. I haven't really been shopping around much because I'm pretty sure that it's slim pickin's at the moment, but it won't be very much longer. I've mostly been playing alot of 3D games, as nVidia has really blown the industry away with very stable, beautiful and quick-moving graphics drivers. In fact, I have no conflicts in Device Manager and the only thing that makes me feel that I'm on a beta O/S is the little tag on the lower right of the screen.

It'll be interesting to see game preformance at 64-bit in a generation or two..

Here's mine. I've just reinstalled Windows 2 days ago, so there's a heap of games and software to reinstall and icons to rearrange. Little note: Although the paging file is turned off (I've got 2GB ram) Windows Taskmanager still seems to think there is one (well, there's not!).

This is btw the theme 'Azure' and it's a totally great and simple, but very useful theme. I can recommend it to anyone who seeks a more usable Windows. I don't like bells and whisles, but this theme is really worth it.

Oh, and for my specs, see my signature (todo: 2x Raptor 73GB (or maybe this little gadget tongue.gif) and a new videocard, G70 or R520).

@ minidisc_kiid: Thanks for sharing. However, we already have a “Post Your Desktop” thread. So, I am moving your topic over. In addition, I have set your picture as attachment as some folks still log in with dialup. Nevertheless, do feel free and resize your desktop picture accordingly.

Here's mine asof this morning.  Yes, I like Starship Titanic [or at least, the art therefrom].

I also love my two new icons that I made, up in the top-left corner there.
