MDX-400
You mean an MD-Data drive or that NetMD drive that was included with VAIO MX PCs?
greenmachine
Does it have to be internal? Hi-MD can be used for data storage via USB connection.http://minidisc.org/equipment_browser.html
peter911s
The drive I had was a data drive, but an external would be OK as Greenmachine asks...What's a good unit, bearing in mind I would not use it to listen to music via headphones - I know its all the fashion now: but hey, stuff the fashion. I have MD's in my cars and it would be great if I could edit some disc's, plus use it with the PC for backup's, etc, etc.Is there a relative cheap unit, which has external power supply ( or via USB) and reconized by windows XP?thanks, peter
tekdroid
thanks, peter No relatively cheap unit. Only REALLY cheap unit. At this price, you are buying a carry case, battery charger, free useless Sony music CD and minidiscs, with a FREE unit http://www.minidisc.com.au/sony-mznh600-hi...sale-p-461.html
Sparky191
They don't ship international AFAIK.

It is recognized as a mass storage device by XP and draws power from the USB when connected. It also doubles as a portable audio player, in case you ever need it. Sparky191
Dunno where you'd get a cheap one in the UK though.
