You may remember late last year one of our former members, GuitarFxr, was buying used MD player/recorders in Japan and reselling through this forum. The thread, in case you never saw it, is here. I am heading back to Japan in early March and am considering something similar for the purpose of raising money for charity. Strictly non-profit. But I wanted to gauge interest before I made the plunge. Are you interested in buying used units from Japan? What's the average maximum price (including shipping) you'd be willing to pay? I look forward to your feedback.

Someone please log on to this forum and ask the guy to post some photos of his car and it's dashboard. http://www.mini2.com/forum/interior-ice/16...isc-player.html

It's the same in Japan. No one wants to be seen using yesterday's tech, so old stuff gets dropped fast and new stuff gets picked up fast. Like you, I think there are a lot of minidisc players collecting dust in many homes across Japan and Korea. When I get back to Japan I'm going to see if I can't help some of those units find new homes. Thanks so much for the update. No plans just yet on going to Korea, but if I do I now know where to look.

Don't know much about where to look in Seoul, but I think the board members would be very interested in a report on your findings. If you have a little time, please share with us the state of MD in Korea.

Your enthusiasm for MD will be missed here, TC. Fare well. Perhaps we'll run into each other somewhere down the road.

I understand and appreciate your attitude, but I think the level of public interest and adoration for these guys is a sputtering wet match compared to Britney's raging conflagration. I expect only a handful of people could identify them by sight or name. They might appreciate a bit of attention!

Anyone hoarding MD tech for speculative pruposes is likely to end up with an attic full of scrap metal and plastic. The potential market is minuscule. Be patient, keep looking, and something will turn up.

Were you privy to any jam sessions, or did that sort of thing not happen on their boat?

Always a pleasure when these 4 get together.
