  1. This is an awesome list but I have 15 MD's that are not on the list at all. They are: Judgment Night soundtrack 074645714486 Stabbing Westward - Ungod 074645361482 (has a "Made in Austria" sticker on the case) Primitive Radio Gods - Rocket 074646760086 Beastie Boys - Check Your Head 077779893881 Smashing Pumpkins - Machina/ The Machines of God 724384893682 Garbage - Version 2.0 5034644002958 Cypress Hill - Black Sunday 509974407581 LL Cool J - 14 Shots to the Dome 074645332581 Star Wars - Episode I soundtrack 5099706181682 Frank Zappa - Apostrophe/Overnite Sensation 014431002588 Stereophonics - Performance and Cocktails 5033197044903 Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz 074643681285 Now 43 (no UPC code on it) Toad The Wet Sprocket - Dulcinea (I don't have the case so I don't have the UPC code) Sponge - Rotting Pinata (I don't have the case so I don't have the UPC code)
  2. I was recording at a show last night through the soundboard and after I was all done I dropped my MZ-R700 on the floor. Luckily it had already saved my data but when it hit the ground the battery door flew open and my battery came out. Not paying attention, I just put the battery back in thinking that's all that happened. The metal inside the battery door came off though and I just realized it today as I tried to playback the set I recorded from last night. So after my long story there, I was wondering if anybody has an extra MZ-R700 battery door or the metal piece that goes on the door because my MZ-R700 does not work at the moment. I will glad to buy it from you or trade an MD or maybe something else. Please let know, thank you.
  3. I totally agree. Downloading is nice but it gets old sometimes but it seems to be the way of the future. :-(
  4. I'm mainly looking to trade someone some MD's with some music on them that I may not have heard at all. I'm not really looking for any type of disc in particular.
  5. It seems that this section is almost dead. This is first post in the trade section in 4 months. I'd be willing to do a trade with someone whether it be for music or just minidiscs. Any takers out there? I'm located near Pittsburgh, PA and would possibly consider trading with someone overseas as well. I have alot of minidiscs and music, some I've recorded and "store bought" albums. I like mostly rock music (80's & 90's and some from today). PM me if interested.
  6. Good point, according to this website it was released in October of 1999. http://www.minidisc.org/part_Aiwa_AM-C80+F72+F75+F80.html
  7. Can you show us a picture of the battery itself?
  8. I bought a 10 pack of these last year and have been making some mixes to put on them. I really like the designs on these as well.
  9. Very nice. I suggest you get at least an MDLP portable with a USB connection and some MD's so you can make some recordings. I have 2 ipods, a 160GB classic and a 64GB ipod touch. While I like them because I can take a whole bunch of music and/or video with me, I still like using Minidiscs. I have 10 MD units (3 Hi-MD & 7 MDLP) and close to 300 MD's sitting around. While Hi-MD is nice, MDLP is cheaper and more readily available. Hi-MD discs are getting expensive, too. Plus, I know a local band that lets me record their shows and I use MD to record them. I also like to make mixes MD's (like mix tapes I used to make back in the day).
  10. Even though we all pretty much knew that this would be the case, it still sucks. I should enough gear and MD's to last me for a while though. Maybe for the rest of my life, I hope so anyway.
  11. So, I finally got around to installing these 2 units and neither one of them works the way that they should. The CD player (KDC-MP342U) thinks that there is a CD in there and it goes through the eject sequence and nothing comes out and it still says that there is one in there. Other than that the unit works fine but I can't have a radio in my car that the CD player doesn't work, I just can't. The KMD-D401 will load an MD but there is nothing lit up on the display and the radio says that nothing is connected. Now I know why I don't buy Kenwood car radios. The few that I have had have given me problems and my brother had a few and they have given him a bunch of problems. I've had a Kenwood home stereo since 1997 and it works just fine. Kenwood car stereos are junk. At least anytime I've dealt with them they have been. I knew I shoud have stuck with Sony. I've had many of them and only after many years do they end up not working properly, normal wear and tear issues. Not right away. And since I bought these a while ago, I cannot return either of them. Oh well, it's only money.
  12. I have this unit in all 3 colors that they made it in (green, blue, silver). You will probably want to test it out before you decide to buy it because one of mine (silver) has a problem with the headphone plug. It seems to be not making a good connection in there somewhere. Overall, I've recorded with the MZ-R700 and have used it to listen to music and in my opinion it seems pretty good. The main positive thing about this unit, to me, is that it takes a AA battery. No need to track down obsolete batteries at all.
  13. I have 37 pre-recorded MD's but the most that I've paid for one was $30. All have the cases but 7. Some of the other ones I got in group lots on Ebay. I've bought them over the course of 3-4 years so it hasn't been too bad collecting them. Some of it is just for the nostalgia factor but I do listen to them every now and then. Even though I have some of them on CD, it's still nice to listen to them on MD.
  14. I didn't have the Auxon device hooked up to my old radio. I bought to use with this radio. It has been a month and I haven't had any problems with my MDX-CA790X since I unplugged the Auxon device. It's so awesome to be able to listen to MD's in my car. I wonder why I didn't get one earlier.
  15. I have an MDX-C5970 that I'm not using for anything. I bought it off of Ebay in an auction with 2 other car head units. I haven't really used it at all but I did test it out and the FM radio worked and so did the MD. It is not an MDLP unit though but it seemed to play my commercial MD's pretty well. Let me know if you are interested. Here is a link for more info. http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MDX-C5970.html
  16. No, it just plugs into the CD changer plug on the back of the radio.
  17. Well, it has been almost a week and I haven't had to reset the radio once. It was 3rd party device, Pac Auxon, all along. I hope to enjoy this radio for years to come. I hope it lasts that long anyway.
  18. I would be interested as well. i love this format and I wish there was more music releases available on it.
  19. Well, so far so good today. No problems at all with my radio anytime I got into my car today. Hopefully it keeps it up so I don't have to worry it.
  20. I have disconnected the Pac Auxon aux input device. I have a Roady 2 XM receiver that I prefer to use through the aux input but it will work on an FM frequency. It sounds better through the aux input, in my opinion. I will try this out for a few days and see if it fixes the issues that I am having with this radio or not. Since it is a third party device, it may have been messing with my radio. I will let you know my results.
  21. Yes, it is the Europe based model. I bought a 3rd party device that turns the CD changer input into an aux input. Pac Auxon Sony Unilink audio input adapter is the name of it. I had a Sony mp3 CD head unit in my car before this one and all I did was unplug the wiring harness from the old radio and plugged it into this one.
  22. I just got an MDX-CA790X and I think it has some issues. Whenever I shut my car off and get back in later on, the only thing on the radio that works is the tuner. Even if I have MD inserted, I cannot switch to it. I did buy a device to activate the CD changer as an aux input and I'm wondering if that is messing it up or not. I have to push the reset button in order for the darn thing to work properly. It's only been in the car for about 3 days and I'm already getting sick of having to do that. It doesn't do it every time though which is why I am puzzled about this issue. If anybody can help me out with this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
  23. Nice, I have some of mine displayed in my computer room.
  24. I was looking on ebay and found one of these above mentioned unit's for sale. I bought it because it was only $50. Does anybody know anything about this unit? I've already looked at the minidisc equipment browser and it didn't say too much about it. I know that I need to hook it up to another Kenwood radio with CD changer or bus controls. Does anybody have any suggestions for the main unit radio? I was looking at a Kenwood KDC MP342U because it has the bus controls and it plays mp3 CD's as well as having a front aux input. Plus it won't break my bank account. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
