I know a local band here in the Pittsburgh area and they let me record them so they have a reference to go back to. I use my MZ-M200 to record them. I've been making some more mix MD's and I have decided to buy a MDX-CA790X for my car so that I can listen to them in there. I was using mp3 cd's but I seem to have too many choices plus I have XM and listen to that in my car most of the time unless I'm doing alot of channel surfing and then I pop in a CD but now I will pop in an MD instead. I don't like how everything is getting to digital downloads. I like to have a physical copy of the music that I bought in my hand. As long as all my MD stuff continues to work, I will continue to use it. I just have so many discs and I wanted to use them some more so they didn't go to waste.

Any Premastered MD for a blank 74/80 minute?

Just let me know. I would be willing to do a trade as long as it doesn't cost more than $10. -

I have 2 that I don't have cases for. They are NOW 43 and Bruce Springteen - Born To Run. Let me know if you are interested in either of these. -
Yeah, I was reading through some of the other posts on here too and I agree that there seems to be some negativity going on around here lately. I have alot of blank disks sitting around so my goal is try and make at least 2-3 MD's every month. Last year I wanted to try and do 1 a week but that fell through after January. Hopefully this year I can stick with my plan. I'm not an audiophile but I just love the idea of the minidisc. It just seems to make sense to me. I do record concerts on my MZ-M200 and then transfer them to my computer to edit them so I can put them on my ipod but I still like to listen to music on MD whenever I can. Stay cheerful everybody.

That is hard to believe. Who knows, there might be a warehouse somewhere full of old but brand new, never used minidiscs. Maybe lost in the back room of a department store somewhere else. I wouldn't mind coming across a nice find like that.

It seems like a good deal to me. I have the same unit in 3 different colors. I love it. I've recorded with it and have used to listen to music, too. I think it's a pretty decent model overall. The fact that it takes a AA battery is a definite plus, too. I have a 10dB inline attenuator that I use to record live music and it works pretty darn good. I still want to try a battery box one of these days. Good luck with your MZ-R700 and enjoy.

I was just going through some of my MD stuff and I have 5 different types of remotes. The different types of remotes I have are RM-MC38EL, RM-MC11EL, RM-MZ1T, RM-MC21, and (3) RM-MZ4R. I know the RM-MZ1T goes with my MZ-G750 for the FM/AM radio. I have a few different units, too and I don't remember what remotes go with which units so I have some questions that I hope someone out here can answer. 1. How compatible are any of these remotes with other units? 2. Is there a remote that seems to work good on almost any unit? 3. I was debating on selling a couple of these since I have more than I need. Which one(s) should I keep? (Obviously I will be keeping the RM-MZ1T for MZ-G750) 4. What other units will the RM-MZ1T work with? I tried it on all my non Hi-MD units and it doesn't seem to work on any of them. (MZ-N505, MZ- N707, MZ-R700) 5. Will the RM-MZ1T work on any Hi-MD units? Any answers/guidance is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your knowledge on this issue.

Yeah, I know. I'm still kicking myself in the butt for doing that.

So I went out to see a band last night and I took my trusty MZ-M200 with me to record. I thought I had over an hour to record because I misread the disc. I only had 16 minutes and was only able to record the first 16 minutes of the show. It sucks too, because it was a good hour long show. From now on I will always make sure that I have a fresh disc in my recorder. I've been recording in PCM but I may just switch to Hi-SP so I can fit over 8 hours on a disc instead of 94 minutes. I can't seem to tell a difference with my ears anyway. Has anyone else ever done something like this and then kick themselves in the @$ after the show was over?

I know what you mean. When I was about 10 I got a little dual cassette boom box. I used to record stuff off of the radio all the time and then my brother, my cousin and I would make our own recordings. That was the neatest thing in my life at that point. I don't think that I have them anymore but I still remember being able to do it. The good old days. But yeah, there isn't really any type of format for the kids of today to hold, make custom designs on or even catalog like we all probably did with cassettes. Well, they could still cassettes or CD's and possibly even MD's if they had access to them. The good old days.

I bought 4 Vapex gumstick batteries a couple of months ago but I haven't used them all that much to tell the difference. Since we have a category about them now, I will post something whenever I have some better answers to share.

No, I never noticed anything out of the ordinary with the attenuator. The music I record is at a lower volume because of the attenuator but that is all I've noticed.

I have an AT822 and it does pretty well. I started out recording some local bands with an ECM-MS907, and then later upgraded to an ECM-MS957. While the 907 seemed to record more bass than treble, the 957 did the opposite. I tried mixing the 2 together and that didn't work out too well at all either. I finally decided to get an AT822 and I noticed a big difference over the 2 Sony mics. Since it was a local band that I knew and was friends with, I would set up all 3 mics and record them but now I just use the AT822. It is so much better at capturing the true sound of the music I am recording. I got mine used off of Ebay for a little over $100. Luckily I got the 2 Sony mics off of Ebay used too, so I didn't spend a bunch of money on them (I would never pay over $300 for an ECM-MS957). The 957 is definitely better than the 907 but not as good as the AT822, though. On another note, I have used my ECM-DS70P to record some other shows where I had to be "stealth". While it didn't do the greatest job of recording, it is very listenable and a good reference for me to go back to. I do use a 10dB inline attenuator with all my recordings so that the bass doesn't overpower my recording, and that seems to make a big difference. My recordings I did before I got the attenuator are kind of distorted in some places. I am not a pro at all but just do it for a hobby. Each one of the mics that I've used have given me decent, if not some good recordings. No where near CD quality live recordings that you would buy in the store but they work for me. It took a lot of trial and error and reading stuff on forums and asking questions. I now feel pretty good that the recordings I do will be decent enough to listen to and give to the bands so that they can use them as a tool for themselves. Sometimes the venue that you record at can affect the way it sounds on the recording, too. Some places acoustics are not as good as others.

I've never had any problems erasing untitled tracks on my computer with my MZ-M200. What kind of problems can happen?

I am looking for some opinions from people on here because I'm thinking about buying an MD head unit for my car. I'm pretty sure that I want MDLP unit instead of a standard MD unit. What is a good unit to buy? Do any of them have a true aux in at all? I've been looking at a MDX-CA790X, is that a good one to get? Thank you in advance.

I just another MZ-N707 off of ebay yesterday. A black & red one this time. It was a pretty good deal that i couldn't pass up. Under $100 with 41 MD's, remote, charging stand, power cords and shipping. It works pretty good, too. I love these machines. I'm starting to get a little bit of a collection going on here. It's like an addiction.

I don't even tell my fiance anymore when I buy another MD unit or more MD's cause I just know she won't understand at all.

I saw one for sale on ebay a couple of months or so ago and I think it went for over $300. I watched it out of curiosity just to see what it would get up to because I know that they are really rare. It's a beautiful machine but it'll cost you. Good luck.

Got a nice and well taken care of MZ-R910 for a good price. Thank you very much Valder. I will enjoy this unit for years to come.
-
I just saw this but I wanted to say "thank you" to you, too. I love the MZ-M200, it's the best unit that I have.

10 of the discs were new and sealed. Most of the other 12 had stuff on them.

Your welcome. I was just trying to be nice. -
I just got an MZ-N707 with 22 discs off of Craigslist for $210. Not exactly "cheap" but not too pricey. It had everything with it, too. Remote, charging stand, car power cord, home power cord, headphones plus a leather bag to put it all in. Unit is in great condition, too.

Very nice but I am buying a house and cannot spend any money on "toys" right now. Very nice though. -
I went to see a couple of bands so far this year and I have recorded a few of the shows that I went. If anyone is interested in Nonpoint, Cold, Psychostick or Nashville Pussy, let me know and we can make a trade happen.
