  2. Hello, I am looking for anyone who is willing to part with their remote for the old style MD players Sony had come out with. I am looking one for a possible buy that I will be making on a MZ-R37 unit. My purchase depends if I find someone willing to part with their remote, for the merchant does not have one provided. Please if anyone is kind enough, get in touch with me to discuss $$. Greatly appreciated!

  4. No I have not, I can imagine alot of troubleshooting to get things worked. BUT the bridge has been made. Even though there may be a few planks missing REF: article that goes into more details for your readin pleasure http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...0-36375,00.html
  5. Xispe, I can't seem to see the pics from this old post. Probably gone now. I made up my mind that I want to make a stand/craddle for my car too. I have a Vaio Pocket and with its LCD, it is a shame not to have it up on display somehow with my center console. I looking for to create a 2 prong type of holder that can slip in/out my compartment. Can you send/post me pics again? PS - Enclosed is a quick schematic of what I would like to make. Thoughts/comments welcome
  6. Yes, this Apple/Windows Boot loader is great! I have always wanted to get a macbook but was not satisfied with the OS support. It's like peanut and jelly in the same bottle . PS - I wonder how long before there can be support for Linux

    PlayStation 3

Good Morning All! Read an interesting peice that touches base with the pricing of the PS3. It is eludes to the price that the PS3 may be $400, that same as the xbox 360 when introduced. Some good news, hopefully this will be true. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=15937 PS - Got more coffee?
  8. Yes, these are very nice!! I want a pair or two. Any idea of pricing for the US?
  9. It is the year I was born.

    UMD

No one has any input to this?
  14. PSSSST FYI - Stuge is a Sony informant
  15. Not sure whats the matter. I would suggest you start from scratch will everything. Backup your music and start fresh. Either that or shutdown all your apps, especially anti-virus, and then try to update again.
  16. Sony is aware of this issue in more ways than one. There was some other thread in here that spoke of this specific issue that Sony knows of the woes and is currently working on it. Of course we don't know when to expect this, for Sony does not know/understand themselves. Sony makes a great product, I am sure all of us can agree BUT their support software is horrible. They need good software to compliment the hardware, otherwise the good aspect is overlooked. If I were to make a shot in the dark, I would have to say with the developement of the HD DVD and the work on the PS3 that Sony has their hands full. All attention is probably put on this. The PS3 is/will be incorporated into CONNECT therefore work and testing needs to be done to be included in the new version. Unfortunately PS3 is delayed and as a result CONNECT is in limbo. That's my 2 cents
  17. ??? If you want to delete files from your player by looking at the player, then I am unsure. The only that you might be able to accomplish this is to read the track name. Perhaps if your lucky it will show the file extrension name (ie .mp3 , .wma, .oma) When I get home I will have to take a look at the files from the atrac in SS to see if formats are listed. If it shows in your library then wouldn't you already know what is on your DAP ?
  18. LOL, perhaps we affraid with all the bad comments we made about Sony they will come after us and make us use the DRM . LOL myspace.com/johnspark
  19. The only way that I know of that you can distinguish between formats, is through GYM or using SS and looking at the format column. From there you will have to recall the filenames that are in .OMA filetypes To answer your question on 'is GYM working', Of course it is working. Now there are alot of tidbits that need to be included and worked on, but the basic premisis of copying tracks to another computer breaking the DRM is accomplished.
  20. I wonder what the file format is on your DAP. When you run the wizard your audio tracks are converted/scanned so that it can be played through GYM (also allowing for transfering to another computer). Now I know at least with my DAP, I have a folder tree setup. In order for the key wizard to convert/scan your scan your tracks, the main folder on your DAP is renamed. It could possible just mean you have to rename it back. Maybe Check yur folder names PS - GYM IS GREAT, very powerful and very needed. It is is no way inferior

    So, PSPs

There's Sony staff workers on this site?
  22. CHEERS to a great response! It makes me wonder how the competition (not really but yea) is fairing? (Creative, iRiver, Panosonic). I wouldn't mind learning more about them. I have looked at Creative products and was very much considering on purchasing one, still am. The Muvo2 4gb looks very nice and I like that it does not have the DRM.
  23. Same question, do you have SP2 installed?

    UMD

I am not a frequenter of this forum subject, but I have always been fascinated by the PSP. And who coulnd't be ? I mean with such a rich LCD screen and coming from a great company, who can say no ? I don't own a PSP, but I would very much like to. I am sure there are many ways tweak it and get some good use out of one. One of the things that I was always confused about was the movies that can be played on it. Now who would want to watch a movie on a small LCD screen? Sure it is neat and technological and geeky to be able to have the option to, but let's be real for a moment. Do you really want to watch a full length movie on the PSP ? What is even more crazy is the format of the DVD, which comes in Sony's UMD format. Ah yes, Sony and it's strong grip on DRM and proprietary formats. It just never made sense to me that a proprietary UMD formated DVD for the PSP be made solely for it. Now I must say I do not know if PSP DVDs will work on Sony DVD home players, maybe someone can shed some light on me. BUT, yes a big BUT . . if the PSP DVDs do not work on a home Sony DVD player and was only meant for the PSP, then WTF was Sony thinking ?? Enlclosed are links from websites that covers the failing UMD format. http://techdirt.com/articles/20060330/1057235.shtml http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news.php?newsId=2963
