How could you forget matrix? As far as I remember, it's a grey disc. I forgot what Mr. Anderson uses it for.

"The cost of the upgrade is $20.00 (includes labor, handling, tax, and return shipping). A Connect Cash™ code worth 25 downloads from the Connect™ music store (ARV $24.75) will be included upon return of your upgraded NW-HD1 unit" "SonicStage software Ver 2.3 (or higher) is required for transferring MP3 files directly to the NW-HD1 unit. A CD-ROM containing SonicStage software Ver 2.3 will be provided with your upgraded unit." The $20 doesn't seem too much considering the shipping is included. If you're into connect, sony even gives you more than what you paid for the upgrade in connect vouchers.

Give you a break? My friend's brother has been travelling the world with his iPod. That is, until he went somewhere higher than 5000 feet. Not climbing a mountain, just a Really High Place. His iPod's hard drive head crashed and now he doesn't have any more tunes. Think of all the people that live in Really High Places. Now they have to rely on some antiquitated.. MiniDisc? I live at sea level. I will enjoy my next iPod if that's whats cool in a few months.

Why buy cheap, heavily compressed music online when you can get cheap music from a Used Record Shop? The only benefit is the "NOW!" factor built in to most people of the broadband age.

Polished stainless? I don't want a fugly ipod clone amp. The other comments refer to it looking like stainless steel kitch appliances. Ugh. You can't refine something that's designed to be ugly:)
-
Stainless is for soccer mothers and Land Rover owners.

11? My one goes up to 12. or .303 if you really wanna know. Think internal pictures are in another post somewhere. There's not much to it. it might be rusting again so i'll need to prime and paint over. Rust sucks.

Aeriyn said that my amps were bad in the bad way because they look like they were built from vietnam shrapnel. This caused a light to go on in my head which said "ANDY! YOU HAVE A BLANK 303 SHELL!" Now it's the volume knob. Not quite betonam but close. [attachmentid=53]

I love having a personal pronoun for a name. My amps are cool, oi. Building amps is fun, too. But for portables, I find them inconvenient.

Or if you can't find em, the V7506 is the same.

I got SE T100. In NZ at least, text messaging seems to be the main way of communication via phone, so radiation isn't as much of a concern. I hate cellphones.

wouldn't it be cool if you could buy an album collection of an artist plus all their PVs and discography on one disc ? 50GB could even like 10 albums in high resolution audio. Sell it for something like 100 bucks.

You get the replacement part for free but not the actual replacement. I wonder if you could ask for the part and repair it yourself? I bet the labour costs a fair bit.

I built this thing, if it rusts to bits then I'll find something else. It's covered in a few millimeters of paint at the moment so I don't figure it'll be a problem anyway. But, i've got many more whacky ideas, just waitin'

Awesome cases are for people who like looking the same as everyone else. This is cool in it's own little way. By the way, there's three keyboards and two laptops. Total of something like 7 screens. Don't ask. Dad = trading. This computer is different yet again, 19" CRT. All this technology then something that a stone age man could beat together with a piece of flint.

SubSonicStage Because it's slow. I could put the files on my theoretical HD3 with a magnet faster than sonic stage can.

Yeah, that's why the meier and headroom amps have the "disabled" option. You just made out that that crossfeed destroys stereo imagery, it doesn't. headroom had a good way of describing it: The headphone listener hears three things: A bubble of sound from the left ear, a bubble of sound from the right ear, and a combination of right and left to form a bubble in the middle right by your nose. Crossfeed blurs these three bubbles together and makes it more speaker like and digestible. It's a subtle effect but I've decided I like it.
-
crossfeed = awesome. Hey, it doesn't monofi your audio, it justs adds a little. You can still have your stereo effects clearly, it justs gives you a smaller headache.

It's about as useful as a play only MD unit. Get one of 'em NH600Ds and play with the EH1 for some time. It's the most expensive MD player at around 24,000 yen.

I don't think it's possible to get any more nerdier. Ugh, my retina. Somebody burn my retina.

You won't find Andy without his Ugly META playing any of hide's three albums. YUKI oft features on this rotation. I don't even have portable audio these days, so I'm *gasp* playing the actual CDs! Whoa! Some other variants are RoBoTs (yes, it's spelt like that) and X. A little bit of Jeff Buckley isn't bad to listen to and. Curiously JPOP. Go to japan for three weeks and look what happens, my music taste turns completely more asian than my girlfriend's.

Trust me, nothing looks uglier than cheap plastic cases from DSE. And an El Cheapo case don't got the 11mm thick iron ground that this amp got. No RF on this amp. (Well, If I got round to shoving a top on it. There's plenty more iron left). It's easy to make Elantecs work in the PIMETA: Perfboard another . The schem isn't tricky at all.

It's not really a case, just a front plate and a base. Yes the power is tied to a capacitor with a piece of string. I couldn't find anything to bolt that thing to since it has to be isolated. PVC looks ugly. I'll fix it up eventually. There isn't a power switch. Who needs a power switch anyway? Just unplug it. Bolted to the front plate with some scrap aluminium since the front plate is too thick. Same problem of being too thick for the headphone jack. This is a giant hole above the PC board with another piece of iron bolted on. It's thinner so the jack fits. RCA jacks are bolted to a piece of angle iron. They face sideways. This amp is meant to be unuser friendly. Front of the amp. Here you can see that ugly plate. with a headphone jack sticking out. Insert headphones here. The bolts below hold the amp board in position. You can see the volume potentiometer sticking through. Knobs are for pansies. This META has never had a proper volume knob. Specs of the amp: Single EL2001 buffers. Should replace them with some 2002s since this amp isn't portable now (it weighs at least a kilogram / two pounds). I don't got no 2002s though. I wish I had a way to get some of Voodoochile's ones but I don't got no online payment method. Opamp AD823. I love it. Wire is a bit of that and a bit of this. Could do better but I really can't be bothered. When I build an amp that's better for the SA1000 I'll pay more attention to this part. Everything else is what Tangent documented in his guide. Gain is something like 5. This thing is seriously ugly, but at least the ground is solid. Heh.
