  1. The front and back of a DR7 is made of aluminium however the front is enamalled.
  2. Is your boyfriend recording songs away from the computer and then moving them to the computer? If you are outside the US, the cheapest HiMD that can do this is the MZ-NH600 (without the D). Do not buy the NH600D as it lacks the microphone and line in. I'm not sure about any others...

    Why Sony? WHY??

This is repeated time and time again and it is completely false. You have a selection of 20GB worth of music. This means you can select 8 hours out of a week's music and play it. Even if the battery life was ~200 hours, there are only 24 hours in a day and you need to sleep through some of those. I had an E900 with 100 hours of battery life in LP4. I have 50 discs. 4 hours a disc, 200 hours. I can only listen to half of them. Whoops, ballast again. Except this time the ballast is enough to keep Queen Mary 2 at her waterline.
  4. It can hold 976MB. At 48kbps, this equates to around 45 hours of music. This is what Sony claims and is the correct amount.
  5. Is a Creative Nomad Jukebox 3 too big?
  6. If you have a battery powered mic with battery power, use the line in.

I'm less and less interested in that site. 6500 posts, less than 500 this year probably. buahahaha. How'd I get 350 here?
  8. Yeah. Yodobashi etc tend to hover around the suggested retail. I suppose you could try Yahoo auctions japan and pretend you're an anime nerd and visit one of those sites that bid on behalf, but I wouldn't know what they charge. Best to get the US version, unless you desperately want the katakana (is it the same with himd?) then the US one is better for you (warranty, SS in english, the ja version one don't like english computers).
  9. www.yodobashi.com will sell you one (in japan) for 39,000 yen. It's $400, but your dollar sucks. Audiocubes are always more expensive, probably 'cause they're a smaller retailer.

Pffft, MD. I did see some Actual HiMD in my local DSE. $14.95 each
  11. Skyther is made in Malaysia too. He is sick of people avoiding his country's products because of a perceived bad quality. Therefore he often posts sarcastic comments. I should stop buying Japanese products, dump my girlfriend, and stop studying the language because Japanese people eat whales. <Mod edit: skyther always posts sarcastic comments. He's a rebel punk, that's why.>
  12. I would hate to think what an inductor would do to the sound quality.. I don't know. It's probably fine. Perhaps it reduces the errors that those remotes tend to make. (RM-MC11EL etc, skips two tracks instead of one and other weirdness)
  13. I suppose they're meant to be clipped on already. I wouldn't trust Sony tech support with an included accessory either. They'll probably just read the manual to you.
  14. They clip on the AC adapter to reduce interference (it's an inductor of some form). Just clip it somewhere near the plug of the adapter and leave it.
  15. "Vanishing Vision - Sadistic Desire" "Art of Life"
  16. Crazy guy. He's always doing things like that. Pity. Yeah, he's out of the T-Bored as well. Where the heck did I get 352 posts from?
  17. I do 44.1KHz so I dont' have to bother with the deck resampling..
  18. It's record head may be defective, in which case.. repair is the only option. Yes, stop using it for editing discs.. My friend had this problem and out of warranty it cost NZ$90 to repair, so you might be in luck and it won't cost a lot to fix.
  19. I know what those are. They were rhetorical questions! I do this: EAC -> foobar2000 -> MD. Kinda hypocritical of me, but I don't have a CD deck. Just found out the other day my soundcard has SCMS. Anyway to defeat it? It's a DS-XG yamaha 751 chipset. AND IT DOESN'T BLOODY WELL RECORD TRACK MARKS!

    battery bulge

The N10 has a 370mAh battery, i'm certain AAA's have at least 1000mAh. It gets about 12 hours or so, which is *okay*...2AAA would be killer, but the gumsticks are nice.
  21. 24 bit I think is more accurate, like... 0.123456 is more accurate than 0.1235. Of course, it's in binary. I'm not sure how noticable this all is - at any rate I cannot tell the difference between my Sharp ATRAC 8 24 bit and my Sony ATRAC 4.5 16 bit.
  22. LP = large platter? certainly, CD was compact at the time, but now in the age of 'audio files' anything larger than a few mega-bytes is too huge and cannot possibly be portable!

    Questions, questions!!

Track names will not be transferred, unfortunately, and you will have to enter them manually...
